  • "Panza's food is a cut above the typical the typical red sauce joint. It is small, crowded, and reservations are not well managed (we had a reservation but had to wait 45 minutes to be seated). Very similar to Giacomo's. Calamari appetizer was good, chop salad ok (no antipasto choice). My Pescatore w/fra diavolo sauce is recommended: has good spice (really hot), fresh seafood (but no lobster, unlike Giacomo's), al dente linguini. My vegetarian daugher loved her eggplant parm, and wifey gobbled up her lobster rav. The $20 bottle of Montepulciano had a screw top and I saw it in a packie for $7 the next day."

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience at the little neighborhood find. I loved the fresh pasta dishes and the goat cheese mushroom spring rolls is to die for. My only complaint was that we really wanted to enjoy dessert there but they don't offer them. But truthfully, the food quality was so superb and service was so outstanding that a being dessert-less was a small price to pay for an exquisite meal."

  • "Made a reservation for 8:00, did not get seated until 8:55. The hour long wait in the cold was not appreciated especially since we had a reservation. Having said that, the food was delicious and I would go back. I would just be sure to make your reservation an hour before you actually want to eat and have a place to go while you wait."

  • "We have been to Giacomo's across the street, but with theater tickets we needed a place that takes reservations. We were not disappointed, Panza was great. Really good selection of Italian standards and specials kept everyone in our group happy. And prices were reasonable, including wines by glass or bottle. It is tight and can be noisy, but worth the trip."

  • "This is a great small italian place. Less upscale than most other places in the north end but also more affordable too. Decent wine list and good prices. Make a reservation as it's a small place and some parties that came in had to wait an hour. If it's busy go to a bar nearby first then come back because they don't offer a bar. The food was great and very authentic, very good homestyle italian fare."

The portions are quite generous but most importantly, the quality of the food is simply incredible. I have eaten at five other restaurants in the North End and Panza simply remains as my favorite."

We were simply delighted with the service, quality (and quantity!) of the food and overall warmth of this restaurant.   • "We were worried about what some reviewers said about waiting for a table even WITH a reservation, so we changed from 7:00 to 6:30 and were seated right away. Had we kept the 7:00, it may have been different. The place has about ten tables. Very cozy and intimate, like a neighborhood 'hole in the wall' but with charming ambience. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal but didn't rush us. The bread was rustic and chewy, and we had the calamari and grilled vegs salad for appetizers, both yummy. Entrees were a good size but not ridiculous. Not a 'two-meal-sized portion' which was fine with us. Chicken Marsala, veal Panza, goat cheese ravioli special, and linguine with little necks, all delicious. Would certainly go back."

No place to wait for reservation to be ready...on a very cold night it was a challenge to not be in the staff's way and not be freezing....Service is rushed, two servers stay extremely busy - but they remain professional and kind each time they are at the table. Our server was not the most friendly I've encountered, and did not ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. Gave us the impression they were more interested in turning the table. The goat cheese ravioli was spectacular, and the shrimp, scallop and vegetable risotto was outstanding. The food was served very quickly which did not give us much time to enjoy our wine or to slowly enjoy our experience. I would definitely go back for another visit and recommend this restaurant to others."

  • "I found this place on Google and the reviews were very good. I made a reservation, and I was not disappointed. My party of 3 shared an appetizer and we each got our own entree and glass of wine (filled to the very top!). The food was excellent and it came out to $26 a piece. You can't beat that for great Italian food in a big city. Recommendations: Bruschetta, Linguine alla Pescatore fra diavolo (for the spicy seafood lover) and Cabernet Sauvignon Make sure you save room and get a cannoli across the street at Modern Bakery!"

  • "I had been looking forward to eating here after reading the glowing reviews. We had a 9pm reservation, which is later than I would have liked, but my husband and I thought it would be worth it. We arrived at 8:40 and were told that they were running 15-20 min behind, but they should be caught up by 9. We didn't get seated until 9:25 at a drafty table, after people with no reservations got their choice of tables. They even took half our table away while we were eating. The food was good, but impossible to enjoy after everything else. Takeaway - if you look like a person who is going to make a massive scene/complain about everything, then this is the place for you. If you're decently dressed, quiet individuals they'll be happy to ignore you."

  • "We love Panza and go there often but this time I was very disappointed with my lasagna entree. The lasagna pasta was not served in strips. It was all broken up - seemed more like a pasta stew. It was probably the most disappointing lasagna I have ever been served at a restaurant. The flavor was just fair. Too bad. We have never before been disappointed with any food at Panza."

Even when my brother's dish was prepared with the wrong sauce ( red instead of white ), our waiter Carmen gave my brother a Free glass of wine without even asking. Get there early, and make a reservation! You will not be disappointed!"

  • "Family of 4 (2 high school kids) went to Boston for the weekend. I wanted to give the kids a good taste of the North End. We chose Panza as we could make reservations in advance (these kids wait for nothing). Reservations were for 7:30, we walked in right at 7:30 and to our surprise the table was set and waiting despite a small waiting line. We sat down. We were greeted immediately by a very warm and friendly waiter. rinks, appetizers and entre were served with perfect timing. All were amazingly good. Chicken Parm was fantastic. Atmosphere is a perfect, Boston, North End experience. I would recommend this to anyone. We'll be back."
