  • "Thanks to Open Table I was able to find a table at Palmer's at the last minute for Easter Brunch. We were pleasantly surprised at the prices. The food was very tastey and plentiful. The hush puppies were a hit with our whole family. We also ordered the chicken egg rolls. They were full, but the flavour was a bit flat despite the kick of spice. My shrimp tacos were overflowing with good-sized shrimp. I counted seven in one taco. This was a good choice and one I do not hesitate to recommend. About an hour before our reservation I called to request an outdoor table. After an unnecessarily, long explanation of why it was possible this was accommodated. The staff were all courteous and did their jobs well. "

  • "The menu offers a more interesting variety of dishes and flavors than is common in the area. Healthy food choices are available as well as deliciously decadent items. My favorites are the calamari and peppers appetizer, the pretzel crusted trout and the shrimp and smoked gouda cheese grits entrees, and the salt caramel bread pudding dessert. Thanks to the chef for offering creative nuances to otherwise familiar dishes. All menu items are reasonable in price. Servers are attentive without being intrusive and exceptionally knowledge about both the drink and menu items. One of the best dining experiences I have had in Lexington in a very long time. Definitely jumps to the top of my list of personal local favorites."

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed this place. The calamari appetizer was absolutely delicious. The wine list was good and beer selections were extensive. I got the pretzel crusted trout, which was wonderful and accompanied by a very flavorful mix of garlicky sautéed spinach, new potatoes, and capers. I enjoyed every bite. My husband ordered the burger, which was large and cooked perfectly and he really liked the pretzel bun. The server was excellent. Very friendly, attentive and welcoming, but not overbearing. The decor is beautiful and I liked the elegant all-white theme. We were seated by a window, which allowed us to enjoy the view of the ducks swimming around as the sun was setting. We'll definitely go back and recommend to others!"

  • "Dropped in on a Tuesday night with out of town guests. Seated immediately. Service started slowly but steadily picked up speed. Meals arrived in good time and we're perfectly prepared. Meals ranged from scallops & bone-in pork hop to pinko tilapia and petit filet, each prepared to order. Palmers is a little pricey for Tuesday night but we'll worth it."

  • "Had a great time and great dinner, but hated that our server was rushing us through the whole meal. Rushed for drinks, rushed for apps, rushed to order, rushed to clean up, and brought our ticket before we could even order a final glass of wine. We ended up leaving for another restaurant to have after dinner drinks and dessert. I thought this was a more upscale restaurant that we could enjoy a leisurely dinner, and not one of those that just try to turn tables."

  • "We made reservations just in case. We had never eaten there before. We arrived at 5:00pm and the place was fairly empty. We were seated and the server was there promptly. We went over the menu for about 5 mins. and ordered. My wife had Oysters on the half shell and a salad. I ordered the shrimp and scallop dinner. Our drinks were never more than 1/3 empty before the server brought us fresh ones. The food was delicious. The service was great. A little pricey but worth it. Our bill was $55 and a $15 tip. We will go there again on a special occasion. The atmosphere was nice and not loud at all. I can't stand a noisy restaurant. Jesus was our server. We will ask for him next time we go."

  • "Okay, some of us were bummed when Regatta bit the dust, but Palmers? It's like having the iPhone 5 when all you've known is the flip Nokia. Amazing. Our first date there (July '13) consisted of ribeye and grilled seabass. The steak was better than Malone's (I know - that's heresy, but it's true). (The only thing missing was the Lexingtonian salad.) The seabass was amazing, but as our waiter told us last week, the cost of importing that dish was too high, so they 86'd it from the menu. Bummer. But they more than atone for that sin by offering toe-curling treats like shrimp and grits. Yes, you heard it right - shrimp and grits. Most amazing thing on the menu? Bourbon Bread pudding. I will climb any mountain for just one bite."

  • "We went to Palmers for our 17th Anniversary and were treated very well. The menu is varied although we had the special offered to those celebrating. The only downsides are ,the house salad is bland as the blue cheese dressing was not very blue cheesy. The meatloaf was very good as was the chicken dish my wife had. The salted caramel bread pudding was the best I had ever had.Service was great! The noise level is very high. Overall, great place to eat! Can't wait till weather improves to eat outside."

  • "As a regular at Regatta I was eager to try Palmers. I was not disappointed. Reservations were a snap through Open Table. Had to call because we were running late. Hostess couldn't have been nicer. Though busy our table was ready and we seated immediately. The after the game crowd filed the remaining tables but service was excellent despite the crowd. Had the shrimp lettuce wraps as an appetizer, perfect. The four of us tried the Talapia, Trout, Scallops and Filet Mignon. It has been a long time since I was at a table where all 4 meals turned out perfectly and the sides were delicious. We split two deserts, Key Lime Pie and chocolate brownie with Ice Cream. The brownie was very good but the pie is a treasurer."

But it was Valentines Day, and they were understandably slammed. Great overall experience - very much enjoy this restaurant."

  • "When I arrived on time for my reservation on Valentines day I was told it would be a couple of minutes until we would be seated. No problem but after 20 minutes I had not been updated and I asked how much longer it would be. There were 4 girls standing at hostess desk doing nothing while there were clearly tables that were empty that could have been cleared. They said it should be just a few more minutes. After 30 minutes I was getting up to leave when we were called. No apology was given for waiting 30 minutes past the reservation and the hostesses acted in a snooty manner as if we were troubling them by eating there. I will say that the waitress was wonderful and the food was great. Doubt I will be back."

Our server was very good, we were happy with the food, but the manager that night was very creepy and kept staring at our table as if he wanted us to get up and leave. He came and talked to us, to see how everything was, but it was very off-putting and weird."

  • "We went to Palmer's on a quiet, low key cold night. The restaurant was less than half full as a result but was pleasant nonetheless. We were sat immediately and service was prompt. Provided with fresh bread and oil with pesto, garlic, etc. we sat in for the wonderful dinner to come. One of the few negatives is the seating itself. The booth was rock hard on the bottom and there was a wooden beam squarely in the middle of the booth. It made what would have otherwise been an awesome experience a bit uncomfortable. Food came quickly and was delicious. Prices are a bit high but otherwise a great experience."

  • "Decor was my favorite! Oh no, wait the food!!!!! We thought the decor was the best we'd seen. Very glamorous yet cozy and brought in the icons of the area (horses!) with elegance. The servers were friendly and efficient. Then the food came…wow! Tastes were exciting and amounts were filling. To finish off we had the biggest piece of Key Lime Pie I've seen served. Best experience in Lexington Ky. I can't wait to bring all my friends."

  • "After looking over other places to eat Saturday night, chose Palmers due to the seafood. Was nice to see they also use local products, especially the Lexington pasta guys. Thai mussel appetizer, gnocchi with addition of scallops & pretzel crusted trout. I am a big gnocchi fan & was not disappointed. The mussels were plentiful & in my opinion, the best value. The beurre blanc on the trout, also excellent. Will definitely come back in warmer weather to sit outside by the water."

The top attraction for me here is the fact that the wait staff and the shift manager have been more than satisfactory. We have had a different wait person each time and they get better on every occasion. Just the right time of checking with you without being intrusive. Great experience."

  • "My wife and I dined at Palmers for New Year's Eve and had a fantastic experience overall. We appreciated the fact that they had a special set dinner for New Year's Eve, but you could also order from their regular menu as well, which both of us did. For starters, we ordered the bacon wrapped scallops and each selected a glass of wine. My wife had the Caribbean Tilapia and I had the Pork Tenderloin special, which were both cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We finished our meal with the bread pudding, which was served in an iron skillet and topped with ice cream, AMAZING! The ambience was perfect, the service was outstanding and the food was great. We highly recommend checking out this hot spot if you've not visited Palmers."
