Diner Reviews
  • "This is my favorite restaurant!!! Every visit has been perfect!!"
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "We took a chance, at the last minute, at getting a reservation at Paladar for dinner. We got in and had a very good dinner. The place was packed but our server was very attentive and got us our drinks and gave us time to order. I tried one of the daily specials and it was great. My wife had her favorite, the salmon, and it was again great. We were in and out and had another great meal. Thanks Paladar."

  • "My main complaint with Paladar is the poor execution of dishes. A classic caesar salad with Cuban bread croutons and a sugar cane caesar dressing sounds interesting, but our salads arrives with two small croutons and an average tasting dressing. My entree of the "Ocho Hora" braised short rib was also a let-down. The waiter gave it a grand introduction, but the real thing was an odd mismatch, with some of the components being under-seasoned and others being well over-seasoned."

  • "This is a formula-like restaurant on a par with Outback Steakhouse or Macaroni Grill. Nothing is terrible, but nothing is wonderful either. The Cuban sandwich is pretty good, but the accompanying fries are unpleasantly seasoned. The empanadas were covered with a strange sauce, but were otherwise tasty. The service is better than the food."

  • "i met 5 friends from high school there Friday night, one is a vegan, one very picky. we were all satisfied with our options and choices. I liked that I could make reservations."

  • "Although the chef somehow doesn't know their supposed to massage raw kale to make it edible in a salad."

  • "A consistent place worth making the trek if you live on the west side."

  • "Not our first visit--guacamole excellent. Mojo pork and citrus pork seemed bland compared to our last visit. Needs more herbs, salsa at the side--something. Server excellent and prompt--comfortable with the vibe here--casual, fun, popular spot. Need reservation on weekend nite."

  • "Return trip, food, service and ambience all wonderful."

  • "This was our second time dining at Paladar. Over a year ago we made reservations and had to wait 20 minutes for our table, had a waiter that would seemingly vanish after placing any part of our order and had a really bad attitude. But the food was great. We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday and thought about giving Paladar another try. This time we were seated on time, but the waiter we had was just plain goofy. Our appetizer (guacamole) took forever to reach out table, our dinners as well. We chose an early time slot so as to not run into delays. Once again the food was great but we will not be returning. The service is just not up to snuff. Sure wish I could say otherwise."

  • "We drove 50 minutes to check this place out. Wanted something different. It was great. We started with plantain chips and guacamole- which was fabulous! We shared the mixed grill....to die for! My husband ended with the bread pudding and I had pineapple upside down cake. Everything exceeded our expectations. Only downside was the bill. $75 for two- no drinks either, just water."

  • "Great food and an extensive gluten free menu. We love this place!"

  • "Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar never disappoints. Delicious food, excellent service, wonderful ambience, and reasonably priced menu selections. We especially enjoy the vegetarian options. What more could a hungry diner ask for?? A top of the list 'go to' restaurant for us! Yum"

  • "Took visitors from Japan for a treat. When we discussed the restaurant for their next visit the unanimous vote was Paladar. That says it all. The food, the service and the drinks were right on. Frank, the manager took special attention to make this a fantastic evening"
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "Terrific Guacamole with various chips (plantain, yucca, malanga and tortilla). Their braised beef ropa vieja and rumed glazed cuban pork were excellent."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Both our meals were dry and overcooked-obviously too long under a warmer! Service was fine but our waitress needed to repeat things several times due to a large NOISY table nearby. Will not go back. Cleveland has better offerings."

  • "Needed to get in and out to get downtown to the theater Meal was great service terrific and we made the theater in plenty if time Go frequently and recommend it highly Noise level allowed our party of four to chat conversationally with no problem"

  • "I thought the service was a little slow. Asked for kids menu and never got. Got it myself. Everyone was very nice and had smiles. Food was great."

  • "We were disappointed by the Paladar food our first time there so were hesitant about returning. The regular lunch menu was offered in addition to the brunch menu for the Carnaval brunch. The food was excellent, especially the sweet potato tacos. Definitely ordering them again. The only negative was the rice. I am a huge rice lover but the rice at Paladar was nothing special and nothing that great. Everyone at the table agreed and we tried a couple different rice sides. I would suggest trying a different side dish. Guacamole appetizer was delicious and the churros are a must. Being that it was a Carnaval celebration, the live Latin music was the main reason we decided to eat there. A great experience this time around and will be returning."

  • "Woa - what fun on Fat Tuesday - especially with a group - the music, the bar, the food specials, etc."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "Decent food for the price. Only thing I didn't like was how packed in and close together the tables were."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "We always have a wonderful experience and decided to host a couple of friends. The food and drinks were excellent. The only thing that kept us from having a first class dinner was that we were seated in an area that was very cramped for a table of six."

  • "Loved the mojito and the curried shrimp was the bomb"
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "A vibrant atmosphere with simply delicious and creative food. The menu offers enough choices to please any picky eater in your group."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "Paladar has a nice selection of vegan options that are very good quality at a decent price point. For example, sweet potato tacos! and a delicious plate of kale, beans and zucchini. Also check out their hot sauce. And also check out their guacamole, which I think must be amongst the best available in the CLE."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "Yum! We started with the plantain crusted crab croquetas. While they were delicious, you only get four small ones which are hard to justify at $12. I had the rum glazed Cuban pork and my husband had the Cuban sandwich with the spinach and hearts of palm salad. Service was okay but not great. We both liked our dishes and we will likely return. Oh, and bonus -- it's just down the strip from a Menchies!"
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "Food was ok. Band way too loud and we were across he room. Server Paul was really great!"
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "One of our favorite restaurants. We like the Latin food with a fresh guacamole bar served with fried plantain and yucca chips. I am traveling around the menu and I have not had a bad item yet. The brunch is very good. try the Mojo pulled pork served w/ cornbread and a fried egg. ."

  • "I am impressed with the changes in the menu! It is refreshing to see the menu items marked "vegetarian" & "vegan" It demonstrates that Paladar cares about different people & their food choices. THANK YOU!!!! We will be regular (happy!!) customers."

  • "This was our fourth visit to Paladar and it lived up to our memories. Great food, seated on time with out Open Table reservation. Will go back soon."

  • "Introduced my boyfriend to the Jicama and Plantain chips with the fresh corn/tomato salsa, it was well received. The traditional Mojitos were outstanding as usual. The entrees did not disappoint either, can you really go wrong with Cuban/So. American comfort food selections? If you are popping in for a quick meal, I'd suggest the bar area for the outrageous Happy Hour items and drinks. Always great food and a lively atmosphere."

  • "Great dining experience. Very good food, very good service."

  • "The salads we ordered were very dry. They forgot the cheese and almonds on them. I've been here before and had salad that was delicious. I'm not sure if it was an off day or changed the menu, but I'd hesitate to order salads again. We had 2 different kinds of salads in our party of 4, and I think we all felt the same way. The guacamole and drinks however were delicious! Thank you"

  • "We had good service and the price was quite reasonable. My wife selected wisely and thought her dinner was great. I tried the portobello mushroom with kale and it was not very good. I prefer vegetarian fare and sort of blame myself for the selection."
