Oyster Club, located in historic Mystic, Connecticut, is a casual fine dining restaurant and raw bar specializing in the richness of the New England coast and countryside.

The menus showcase food that travels the shortest distance from ‘farm & sea to table,’ with seasonality and location determining the day’s delicacies. Benefiting from the region’s many local farmers and fisherman, Oyster Club features bounty from the sea, pasture raised beef, local produce and artisanal cheeses, selections of which will change daily.

  • "Loved my tuna tartar appetizer but my swordfish main had so much wasabi/horseradish on it that it set my sinuses on fire. I asked the waiter about it and he said there was none on there, only mild spice. It was so strong I could barely eat my fish. Husband got the house made sausage and it was awesome. Wine, appetizer, dessert and the atmosphere was awesome. Too bad my main dish was a total miss."

  • "We are regulars in season at Mystic Oyster Club and it never fails to provide a great experience and meal. Our most recent trip this week is a perfect example, they held our reservation even as we were a few minutes late, the meal + desert was above expectations. While the menu varies from day to day thanks to the market of available items, the dishes are never over stylized or try to be too cute with bizarre items or strange presentations. From the chowder to the Swordfish to the made on site sausage with blueberry ice cream to top it off we had a great night."

  • "With all the dining choices now in Mystic, we always make a point to go to the Oyster Club when visiting family there. We have never been disappointed!! My mother had once been awhile ago for lunch but was underwhelmed. When asked what she ordered, she said PASTA!! I wouldn't be ordering pasta here. The seafood selections are great, as is, the beef. 3 out of 5 at our table ordered the NY Strip Steak which I sampled and it was to die for. Thank God, my mother was one who ordered it, she is still talking about how delicious it was. Two of us had the tuna on the menu and were VERY pleased! Awesome combo of flavors!! Appetizers were equally delicious. Unfortunately, no room for dessert, perhaps next time:)"

  • "Mystic has been extremely fortunate to have several new and great restaurants join the scene in town but Oyster Club remains the best. If you want good food and a great view of the water, Red36 is the new hotspot. Red also has the bar scene and is an exciting new place. If you want beer and bar foods, Engine Room is your place. Plus its a really cool renovation! But if its exceptional food and service you crave, Oyster Club still rules. Dan and James just know how great food is done, and they continue to offer new and exceptional farm to table fare that is nothing short of perfection."

  • "We were running an hour late for our reservations due to terrible I-95 traffic, and even after showing up an hour after our scheduled dining time, the restaurant held the table for us. All service staff members, besides our waitress, were great. The only negative was our waitress- not friendly! Delicious sea/farm-to-table food for our entire group, great drinks and a beautiful restaurant. I recommend going next door to the Treehouse bar for an after-dinner drink overlooking the water."

  • "We had a late reservation on a Friday night (9pm) and I genuinely did not know what to expect as I was completely unfamiliar with the place. Beautifully lit, great seating areas for dinner and drinks, and very lively for Mystic on a Friday night. Bar was full, treehouse bar behind the restaurant was full, and people were enjoying drinks on the front porch. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, but had very tasty cocktails and a great seat in the dining room eventually. Food was great, service was great. Best part, even at 9:30 at night, full menu was available and everything seemed as fresh as the start of the night. Have already recommended, will definitely be back, great spot."

  • "This has to be the best restaurant in the Mystic area. Great fresh local food is prepared for a menu that changes daily. The ambiance is pleasant. The service is friendly and professional. I have yet to dine here when the meals were not interesting and delicious. Best of all, as opposed to many area restaurants, they take reservations. This time I had the leg of veal. Tender, served over beluga lentils and garnished with a handful of arugula...fabulous. The steak tartar was delicious. It is really tough to make a decision here, everything is so good. As a local, I'm here regularly and will continue to be."

  • "I ordered a pasta dish. The menu indicated that it was cooked with "prime meat". It tasted foul. The server then said after that it was goat meat. I wouldn't serve this to a starving dog. The swordfish was dry and lacked taste. The server was unsympathetic but merciful. She deducted the goat meat from the check. I won't be hurrying back, ever. What a nightmare!"

  • "They have a wonderful happy hour with $1.00 local oysters which were great. Everything we ate for dinner was well prepared and tasty. It was fun sitting on the Tree house terrace for cocktails and appetizers then heading downstairs to an additional outdoor dining area with just as nice ambience as the Tree house terrace.   • "We ordered Quahog chowder and Thai mussels to start. Chowder broth was a perfectly savory balance of briny clam broth, dairy and salt pork included Cubes of a white fish in addition to the Quahogs. Some of the clams were to tough to chew. The mussels arrived fragrant with the scent of lemongrass, infusing a coconut milk broth. Entrees selected were Fluke, Tuna and housemade tagliatelle with a red wine ragu of beef. The fluke was pan seared and served in two parts-the top layer of skin was properly crispy but a tad too salty. The accompanying large pearl couscous and minted pea puree were great. Tuna and the beef rag Desserts were outstanding. Almond cake and deep chocolate ice cream with assorted roasted nuts. Service was spot on."

  • "We dropped in for dinner after a visit to Mystic Seaport, the reception was a little disorganized, not explaining that there's a different menu for the outside 'tree house'. After settling in with the proper menu however, everything went smoothly. Delicious bread, served with properly cold butter (with a sprinkling of Maldon salt), a nice and not overpriced wine. The oysters were incredibly fresh and bring and the squid salad, our absolute favorite, had a fantastic hint of cumin. Both of us had fish mains, again totally delicious, and a dessert even then we didn't need it. We'd definitely recommend a visit here, well worth a trip."

  • "This ranked among the best restaurant meals I have ever had. The menu changes daily based upon available ingredients, but for reference: as starters my wife had Quahog chowder, New England style; I had goat rillette on fresh bread. The quahog chowder, also available Rhode Island style, is as close to a staple the menu has. For main courses 2 people in our party had tofu in a sweet chili-paste based sauce which was outstanding, another had a steak and I had a freshly caught piece of bass. The tofu dish was one of only 2 tofu preparations that I have tried in my life that were at all good. Both the steak and bass were cooked perfectly. Many farm/sea to table restaurants do little more than serve fresh middling food. This is not one of them."

  • "It was our 3rd time to visit Oyster Club and it has never disappointed us. The mussels were amazing; some of the best we ever have had. I literally was drinking the coconut broth with a spoon! My husband and I both had the tuna and it melted in our mouth; had just the right spice to it and the cucumbers salad and crushed peanuts added just the right flavors. We had an amazing dessert to finish off our meal. I love the fact the chef uses farm to table ingredients which I think makes this restaurant one of the best I have eaten at! Our waitress was so friendly and offered us great suggestions. My husband and I had such a nice, relaxing, and wonderful meal which I will rave about until we go back and visit in August!"

  • "This is a very good restaurant, with excellent service. My spouse mentioned we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and the waitress surprised us with two glasses of complementary champagne...very classy touch. We were taken care of by a couple of great wait staff, and had a spot on recommendation for dessert...delicious. My only complaint, is that there really isn't much for vegetarians. I had the crispy tofu dish which was excellent, but my spouse preferred not getting anything fried. The chef did agree to make a veggie plate (the waitress had never had that request before), but everything on the plate tasted the same (mostly pickled items). For such a good restaurant, that seemed uninspired."

  • "We arrived a bit early and that was ok. We decieded to eat at the bar and the service at the bar was good. The problem was waiting 45 minutes for a soup and then an hour for dinner. Our dinner was a lobster roll and fries. After waiting an hour we recieved a burnt lobster roll and burnt fries. We sent it back and walkewd out. Could not believe this level of restaurantweould even bring out the dish. would never go back. Terrible."

  • " This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in quite a while. Terrific outdoor bar in the trees above the restaurant. It was a perfect evening and we enjoyed a cocktail there before wandering back down to the restaurant for dinner. We started with the oysters, all quite local, very juicy and tasty. The server was excellent and knew everything about the menu, which is farm or sea to table and changes daily. We had a salad and my wife and I had a pan roasted Cod that was amazing and my son had a perfectly prepared seared yellow fin tuna. The home made ice-creams and sorbets were terrific for dessert. The wine list is not extensive, but is all good and has all price ranges. We had a lovely chassagne montrachet with dinner."

  • "I loved the fact that the menu was limited to choice local offerings, and that the producers were cited. The food was lovely and fresh. I thought it was a bit of hubris not to put salt and pepper at the tables; tastes differ, and I thought my clam chowder could have done with a touch of both. (Trust your clientele! We won't ALL smother everything in ketchup!) The only thing that was off-putting was the service. We were almost alone in the dining room, but the waitress/hostess seemed too busy to bother with us; which meant that she never offered to refill drinks, and she started to clear plates before everyone was quite finished, which was awkward. But the obvious care and quality coming from the kitchen made the biggest impression."

  • "Nice cocktail in the Tree Top outside. Lots of after work crowd. Early dinner so dining room was quiet. Shared liver hush puppies for appetizer - very good. Friend ordered steak - not cooked properly but good flavor. I had the mussels which were delicious - in a coconut, pepper broth. Good bread. Would try it again. (I did find it a little overpriced) Did like the fact that it is land/sea to table"

  • "For our one day stop in Mystic, we picked a great place for dinner. Relaxed on the "front porch" in Adirondack chairs before dinner. They have a great cocktail menu. We had opportunity to sit outside and do some "poeple watching". Food was very good. Only downside was that there was a long lag between salad (first course) and main course. We waited about 25 minutes. Still wood recommend."

  • "We loved that all was locally sourced. Menu heavy for July, and not enough diversity. Both beef and beef liver in the pasta sauce made that a "no go" for several in our party. Steaks, chowder, home made bread, mussels, bar, wine and service all quite good. Virtually no accompaniment with entree. Less than half a teaspoon of rice with the yellowfin. Same with polenta and beans served with entrees, and rhubarb in rhubarb cake. The swordfish was unremarkable. I would try it again, but I would be cautious. The beef was the finest of the entrees ordered."

  • "Started the evening at the Treetop Bar. The drinks were great but one of our appetizers was burnt - didn't send it back , just ate around it. Later, in the dining room, our waiter returned to tell me that the entree I ordered (tagliatelle) had to be modified , and it would now have beef and some beef liver. I appreciate that they use all local ingredients, but when the meal arrived it was clear that from sight and taste that it was all beef liver, and simply too strong for his particular dish. Our waiter did notice that I didn't eat the meal , but seemed overwhelmed by other diners, so I just chalked it up to experience. An expensive mistake, on my part."

  • "This was our third time to the restaurant. For the second time the main course was seriously over-salted. I had the tagliatella and it was extremely salty. Last time my husband had the same experience with fish cakes. It took a very long time to get our entree, after our appetizer. It was a monday night, late-ish, so this could not be explained by the restaurant being too crowded. Finally, when I ordered my cocktail, I immediately said, "actually, let me have X." The waitress said, no problem. (She had not even walked away yet). Still, she brought me my original order; i didn't bother to send it back. For the amount of money we spent (two cocktails, two glass of wine, an appetizer, to entrees for over $150), we won't be going back."
