Great date spot because you get to do share-zies with multiple little plates of yummy goodness (tapas!). I find Tapas great because the ingregients and flavous are so unique. A whole meal of just one of these dishes could be overwhelming, but the smaller portions allow you to mix things up and try things you maybe wouldn't order off a conventional menu. Great service and wine list too! Warning: Although I said it a great place to take a date, it is definately NOT an intimate and quite spot. Be prepared to have to lean in and speak up, but that's just part of the vibe... awesome!

We chose this restaurant specifically for the Iberian ham. Everything about the evening was exceptional. Our server was delightful, professional, experienced in Spanish tapas and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. She was also helpful in explaining how to order from the many tapas choices. We each chose 2 items plus some extra almonds and olives for the table. Each dish was unique, flavourful and nicely presented -- offering a taste to each of us. It was exactly enough for the 4 of us. The wine was outstanding. We will definitely be back -- often.

Ox and Angela has to be one of the best restaurants going on 17th, and that is saying a lot considering the amount of good eats that can be found near by. The food and wine is often quite spot on and their highballs are some of the tastiest around. Whether meeting friends or just looking for somewhere casual to eat, O&A is not to be missed.

Cocktails are interesting and bartenders are clearly talented at what they do. Worth giving the vermouth and sherry lists a try too! Food was good, some plates had the wow factor (stuffed Persian dates!) and some were tasty but unfortunately not memorable. Tried the $27 Iberico ham - delicious but for the steep price tag, we were expecting something more. Service was quick and attentive generally, although they did take away one of our tables drinks before he was finished. We raised the issue and another was brought with apologies.

Ox and Angela had a great staff - our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and paced our meal very well. She was also cognizant of our conversation and never interrupted - a nice touch. The food was excellent, inspiring every day items to become elevated to foodie status. Four tapas plates between two people was more than enough. The ambiance was nice and romantic with intimate tables, low lighting and a cozy atmosphere. I can't wait to return!!

Quality of food was outstanding! There were only 2 of us and we had 5 items which filled us completely. Enjoyed the lamb sausages and seared tuna the most but nothing bad about the dates and fried cheese too! $7 for the bread was a bit pricey. Service was great, with a team looking after us for the most part. Would definitely go back. Next time, we'd ask for a window seat or a booth though.

Ox and Angela was so-so for me. Their tapa selection is vast and the ones that stood out most definitely were: - Scallops - Asparagus - Tuna They were great but IMO, isn't enough for a second visit. Other than that, it was lackluster. The paella wasn't bad but wasn't stellar. It was typical stuff with nothing new to rave about. Portions are odd: big, giant spoon that comes with the paella is useless in a shallow serving pan. I most likely would not return.

Ox & Angela is consistently fantastic. A beautiful space, with tremendous service and delicious food. It is surprisingly reasonably priced considering the amazing quality of the food. It can get quite loud in the evening (i.e. not the best choice if you're looking for an intimate place for deep conversation over dinner) but it's great for a group gathering. Everything on the menu is amazing, never once been disappointed in a dish. Brunch is also fantastic. Wine list goes on for days and is full of excellent choices.

I took 3 clients for dinner on Friday, bill came to $250 with drinks. Service and food-taste were good. Portions were pathetic. My only "wish" was to try the Paella ($35). What came was a tiny "cute" fry pan with a couple of small pieces of chicken. Totally disappointed. If you have had Paella in Spain - lower your expectations. Go for the drinks - I wont be back for the food.

I've been to Ox & Angela a few times before and this was a disappointing experience. Every time I have had The Brunch Table menu they have either removed an item from the list or shrunk the serving size without changing the price, this time the eggs benedict was half the size. There was too much salt on half the dishes. The food took a long time to come for the second wave of dishes and was a bit cold. The server did not check in on us and we had to ask someone else for the bill.

Our group of six was seated quickly. The service was some of the best I had in Canada (I'm from London, UK). It was discreet and polite with adequate presence without being overbearing or too familiar. It was too noisy for me. Most of what my friends were saying most of the evening was unheard by me if they weren't shouting—hardly a recipe for a civilized conversation. The food was tasty and menu choices were comprehensive, but the portions were small and the prices were big. Four small pieces of gluten-free bread was $7. I will probably not eat there again because I thought the food overpriced. I would recommend it to others though for the menu and for the quality of service.
