Getting there

  • Parking Details: We have 20 paid parking stalls directly behind the restaurant. Parking after 6:00pm is a $5.25 flat rate through IMPARK. Street parking is also available for free, 7 days a week after 6:00pm, as well as on Sundays and holidays.
A word from Ox and Angela Restaurant

Ox and Angela is a Spanish inspired restaurant and tapas bar that is dedicated to the easy, good food and dining attitude of Spain.

We use local, Alberta product as much as possible and change our menu seasonally.

Come for a custom or classic cocktail in the bar before joining us in the dining room.

We are open seven days a week for lunch, dinner & drinks, and Saturdays & Sundays for brunch at 10am. Please refer to our website for a current menu and upcoming special events.

  • "Had the Spanish Table. Great way to start first time at this restaurant and try different dishes. Can honestly say, if I came back, sorry, when I come back, not sure if I could just order a few dishes vs. having the variety of what the Spanish Table offered. Next time I'll ask for flat iron steak to be medium as the one we were served was rare. Spanish food is delightful! This restaurant is beautiful. Details of leather binder wine list, milk bottle water decanters, contrast of Ox vs Angela side, shows how committed to the whole experience this establishment is. Food was top notch. "

  • "came to ox & angela on a saturday night for the first time, definitely not the last! our waitress kindly explained to us the best way to go about ordering our dinner and even recommended a couple of cocktails for us to try. I had one of the sours where my boyfriend had one of the old fashions. both fantastic! dinner was delicious as well, and all came out very promptly, couldn't believe how fast the food was. all in all, a fantastic experience, will definitely be back again."

  • "The special sampling was fabulous. Very food mix of foods. The apple salad was not as good as it usually is--less flavour in the dressing. The pork/chicken meatballs are not as good as the lamb meatballs you used to serve. Desserts were food and I like that they aren't too much. Overall, this restaurant is still a favourite of ours."

  • "The guy that met us at the door was very rude, not a good start. Our server was terrific. We have been here before many times and the food is usually amazing. Not this time though, everything was very bland almost tasteless. Have to assume there is a new chef or just an off night for the kitchen. We will likely go back but not until after we try some of the other spots in the neighbourhood. Hopefully the chef can get it together and bring the food back to the high level it used to be."

  • "I have been for dinner and loved it, and was impressed by their affordable brunch. The atmosphere was lively and chipper, and prices very affordable. We each had something different, and I think the eggs benedict with kale and truffled mushrooms ($12) was the best. The egg bake with tomatoes ($12) was also delicious! Luckily our group was not afraid of sharing so we each got to taste four different dishes. Chocolate chip pancakes with dulce de leche ($9) was also good if you're in for something sweet. Overall we were very impressed with the creative yet approachable menu, and its reasonable prices. Will be back!"

  • "This really is the best brunch in town. I always get the brunch table, it's like a breakfast tapas table. I am a little sad that I have to order a whole order of pancakes for the end since the pancakes are no longer included but I do it anyways because they are incredible. If you have a chance to come, make a reservation as they seem to fill up fast these days. They are also renown for their cocktails and make an excellent Bloody Mary!"

  • "Took a friend for her birthday - did not know that brunch was the only thing available. I chose this restaurant because of rave reviews of their tapas - we didn't get to try any. Seated promptly, we ordered the "menu". Out of 5 items, we really enjoyed 2. Now at least we know what we would order if we go back for another weekend lunch (the Benedict & the stuffed dates). Still have to get there during an evening so I can see if their tapas are as good as reported. Blood orange mimosas were yummy. Latte very good as well. The service was the best part of the event. Very attentive, without being cloying. FYI - there is parking in back. Being unfamiliar with the location, we parked on the street, which had two hour restricted timing."

  • "Came here for a friend's champagne birthday. Our waitress (sadly forgot her name) provided outstanding service by being patient with our large group and being very thoughtful with wine selections. Food is high quality and well put together for a wide variety of delicious flavors. The only somehow disappointing thing was the noise level that became quite raucous throughout the night. Last time I came and sat on the bar side I don't remember it being this rowdy... Made it difficult to carry conversations."

  • "2 choices of eggs benny. 1 = egg, tomato & ham, 2 = egg, kale & mushrooms. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I ask for the ham benny without tomato off and kale on. Well you would have thought that the world blew up! The waitress tells me that there is no way the kitchen would trade the tomato with kale - WHAT?! THE KITCHEN - what kind of prima donna's do you have flipping food on your grill! Waitress suggests just ask for no tomatoes, I say with kale on the side & she said no they (THE KITCHEN) would not let her do that. I ordered something else & ask she report this to the manager. Manager comes over, says instead he ordered me the mushroom benny and substituted mushrooms for ham - seriously! What is the difference? Got a refund."

  • "We arrived on a cold spring evening by foot and were given a nice warm table by the kitchen. Unfortunately, a problem with the heating system keep the air conditioning turning on and blasting us. Staff were quick to respond but it was uncomfortable. Service was excellent and the food as follows: Delicias - excellent, Aceitunas - OK, nothing special. Jamon ($27) - nice but biggest rip off feeling we have experienced in along time. Pan Asado sin Gulten - good, Calabacines - Excellent, Coliflor Asada - good (if you like garlic, really good), Pato Asado - I loved it but my husband thought it was tough. We both had wine and a lovely "date night", other than the overpriced ham. (Jamon)"

  • "My first time and I took two girlfriends who didn't really know each other. Tapas are a great way to dine - sharing food leads to sharing tastes and reactions which leads to sharing stories. Just enough noise to make the place feel alive - even on the restaurant side. The bar side was buzzing. Loved the cheese dipped in honey, the olives and the stuffed dates were divine. We ate ALL the Merguez sausages, the asparagus, the Kale salad and the chicken. Kudos to the chefs for an enlightened menu, a lot of variety and just enough intrigue. I'll go back for sure!"
