  • Private Party Facilities: We offer two private dining rooms. The Wine Room, cozy with a view into the wine cellar, seats up to 30. The glass enclosed Patio offers the ambience of outdoor dining with the comfort of being indoors and seats up to 50. The Chef's Table located in our kitchen is perfect for groups 8-14. The whole restaurant is available for groups 50-150. Several menu options, all parties are served family style.

  • "The wait staff was on top of their game! They gave us our space, but still provided us with everything we needed. The chef sent out a complimentary vegetable antipasto that was the bees knees. The food was not piled onto us, everything came out at excellent intervals. With dessert I ordered a cortado (off menu), basically there was a miscommunication between our server and the barrista. I ended up with a double shot of espresso (who can complain about that?). I made no fuss of the problem and our server took it off our bill. "

Granted, the dining room had plenty of empty seats on this past Thursday, but it's a great, relaxing lunch spot in the neighborhood that's growing in popularity. With many businesses in the area, it's a great spot to take a client or co-worker."

  • "Our group of 4 was very impressed with the veggie antipasto, the lobster, the pizza, and the pork chop. All were excellent portions and easy to share. Out of 8 dishes ordered, all 8 were great. And then we got to desert and it was great as well, This is a Philly must do!"

  • "I had a great dinner with my boyfriend at Osteria on Sunday. The beginning of the meal was disappointing, but all in all it impressed the both of us. Unfortunately, after placing our order, we were told that most of what we wanted was sold out for the night. The salumi board was a great consolation prize, though we were so looking forward to the poached lobster and porchetta. We ordered the rabbit, as they were out of the spit fire pork, which far from impressed - it was really dry. The postage stamp mushroom ravioli were outrageously good, as was the short rib ragu. We'll skip the endive side next time. All in all, a really lovely meal. Dessert was skipped, they were out of what we wanted. We will return, hopefully with better luck!"

  • "I've been dinning here since about 2007 and am never disappointed! I prefer sitting in the "green house" side of the resturant as that feels more romantic but where ever you sit, the food and service will be fantastic! Totally worth the cab ride to N Broad Street!!"

  • "I found the service on this night to be outstanding - from the hostess', waiter (Zeke), sommilier, table runners and table clearers. Super friendly and we never once felt rushed. The recommendations made by the waiter were also outstanging (vegetable platter and pig). I highly recommend Osteria to anyone!"

  • "I've been here twice before and was blown away. I went this time and the menu changed and was honestly a little too modern Vetri for me. his menus have become very bizarre, i had to look up what half the ingredients even were. My meal was good but unlike the previous times I have been here it didnt blow me away. All in all is a great place. Sadly it wasnt the meal i was looking for this time around. Likely will go elsewhere now, and I live next door. I've said this about other Vetri restaurants. His menu's are trying to hard. The food is amazing but some of the dishes are very bizarre and attempting to be very different from the rest. It works in some cases but not always."

  • "I was eager to check out Vetri's Osteria - especially after having had some of his fine dishes in Rustic Italian Food. Atmosphere was fantastic - beautiful glass room looking onto the stone church architecture next door, rustic italian countryside tables. However, food just didn't live up to expectations. Octopus appetizer wasn't sufficiently grilled; artichokes were more fried than artichoke; sauce/ragu of mushroom pasta was a bit grainy in texture; sfogliatelle dessert was heated making the delicate pastry chewy instead of light and crisp. Make no mistake - everything was good - but not out of this world. I would be keen to try again on next visit to Philly. In the meantime, I'll continue making recipes in his book - which are perfection."

  • "It's 2 days later and I'm still thinking about my meal at Osteria. We started out with the vegetable board, which, while simple, turned out to be the highlight of the night. 10 different vegetables all prepared differently––it was the perfect way to start. Of the appetizers, the butter-poached lobster and charred endive with huckleberry were our favorites. The "postage stamp ravioli" with trumpet mushrooms and thyme was the highlight of the other dishes. And the sorbet... The sommelier was there whenever we needed him, without ever being intrusive, and the servers were helpful and attentive. My only complaint is that the restaurant was nearly empty and the hostess still tried to sit us right next to the front door, on a cold night. Why?"

We were disappointed to be out in the back room however as it was just us and one large group even though there were numerous tables in the main dining room. I have to admit I wondered if that was because we booked with Open Table. The food was spectacular however and our server great and pleasant."

  • "We picked Osteria out without knowing much, and the meal was fantastic. Lots of spring-y dishes that were such a relief after a long winter. I got our reservation time wrong (my mistake) and the hostess handled it easily. Also is the kind of menu that can accommodate you whether you want to keep a meal simple or go for a real blow-out - also lots of good options for vegetarians (as well as lovely big hunks of meat). I would go there as much as possible if I lived in Philly."

  • "First time at this particular Vetri restaurant. Top quality food as expected. Excellent service from the bartender. Table service pleasant but so-so, maybe not experienced. Impressive menu which has several visits or a big sharing party worth of amazing stuff to try. On this trip - Pizza was great, do not miss it at least for an app; special was a spit roasted pig - several different selections from the pig - top notch; artichokes alla giudia --- just like Rome. Looking forward to coming back here to work through the menu!"

  • "Aside from being a bit noisy, the food is Wonderful. The wine selection is very, very nice. The food and wine are unique, so if you are looking for the traditional red sauce smothered over everything with mozzarella cheese, this is NOT the place. My favorite is the daily antipasto with a dozen or so creative vegetable salads. The Brussels sprouts roasted with pancetta is amazing. The mini cheese ravioli called Francobolli ( postage stamps) are 'to die for' and melt in your mouth. My husband had the veal chop and raved. Dessert was the chocolate zeppole. WOW. The red wine Occhipinti was from Sicily and was an organic selection. It was unbelievable with the taste enhanced by the food, getting better as dinner went on."

  • "It's less than one would expect. My skate was fine but the cockles accompanying it were loaded with sand. The banging that filled the room ostensibly to prepare pounded veal quickly lost its charm. Banging, pounding fine dining. I think not. Hadn't been to Osteria since last unsatisfactory meal. Not likely to try again. Btw veal not offered when one in our party ordered it because we were told the chef didn't like the way it was being prepared. All that noise for that? Disappointing. They did remove my skate dinner from my bill and did serve us 2 tasty desserts on the house so they were very gracious. Mistakes do happen but it's the second time I've had a less than meal."

  • "I have been here many times with mixed reviews, once we went with a reservation (on time) and after 50 minutes we decided to go elsewhere. But any who, the pizza is great but don't stop there, I had an amazing entree that made me want to lick my plate. It was the Agnolotti and it really blew my big winter socks off! Just to put this in perspective my boyfriend rarely in a restaurant sees me eat 4 courses and finish everything because it was just that YUMMILICIOS!"

  • "I made a reservation in advance and simply wanted to add a person to my group. The manager, I believe her name was Mary, was rude as could be. After refusing to do anything at fist, she finally agreed to add a chair to a bar table. The waiter was not very smart and brough me a whole bottle of wine instead of a glass. The food, as always was very delicious but they were out of one of my favorite dishes, which was disappointing. My meal was well over $300 for three people, a little pricey for Philadelphia. The food was worth it but for those prices the service should include a lot more hospitality and a lot less attitude. With so many choices in Philly, I may decide to spend my money elsewhere on my next trip."

  • "Our 8:30pm reservation on a Saturday night, turned into an almost hours delay.....before we were seated. However, the food, service and overall attitude of the staff turned things around, and we were treated very well, with a number of comp dishes sent out to make up for the long wait. Everything we ate was excellent, and our initial displeasure was soon turned around into a complete enjoyment of the evenings fare. Would recommend this restaurant to Foodies or anyone else looking for that extra special dining experience."

  • "Have eaten here several times in the past, and it was always 5 star. This time however, was sub-par. Our polenta with sausage and egg was too salty to even finish. Our pistachio, mortadella, mozzarella pizza (which used to me one of my favorite meals anywhere) was tasteless. Service was great, and we were even asked why we didn't eat the polenta, and it was taken off the menu. We were seated right next to the server station and had servers hips right next to our faces throughout the meal."

  • "Nine co-workers went to Osteria to celebrate a 25th service anniversary for one of the group. We were seated promptly and service throughout the meal was attentive without being overbearing. We shared two appetizers - Mozzarella in Carrozza and Grilled Octopus. Both were delicious. Several people in the group had never had octopus but they loved it - it was lemony and tender. Two people had the "Francobolli" Ravioli which were postage stamp size ravioli in a luscious cream sauce. The sauce was light but rich in flavor. The Candele with WIld Boar Bolognese was a big hit as well. We finished the meal with espresso and capuccino before heading back to work. Everyone agreed that it was a memorable meal."

  • "The main dining room is VERY noisy. But, there is a room off to the side, behind the kitchen that is wonderful. Not a lot of tables, and the noise level is just fine.We had a great server. we were unsure, other than to know we wanted to share. She recommended a salumi and veg and cheese tray, and octopus and tonnato appetizers. then a pizza shared among 4, then some pastas. we sat from 7:45 to 10:30 and there was no hovering to suggest we should leave. Desserts were also great. Pistachio gelato is like being in Milan."

  • "This is my 4th time to Osteria and each visit has been as enjoyable as the last. I had the appetizer special which was beet and salmon -out of this world good and the presentation was beautiful. For my entree, I chose the skate which was perfect. If you are a fan of lemon, the lemon sorbet is as if you were in an Italian piazza. Truly authentic!!"
