A word from Olympic Provisions Northwest
Olympic Provisions Northwest is the convivial west-side answer to our intimate Southeast location. Marked by a string of patio lights on an otherwise industrial stretch of NW Thurman, OPNW offers a menu of lovely rustic European-inspired fare in a warm, windowed setting, accentuated by our antique French rotisserie.

Thomas Keller-trained Colin Stafford comes to Olympic Provisions Northwest after serving as the Sous Chef for Alex Yoder at our southeast location since March of 2011. It was Stafford’s stint at Bouchon, the sister of Thomas Keller’s legendary restaurant French Laundry, where Stafford learned the meticulousness and attention to detail that instilled in him to make every dish the best he possibly can.

Come in to OPNW for happy hour and warm yourself with a few of our craft cocktails. You’ll find yourself staying for dinner amongst a friendly crowd, where you might hear the strains of old funk and soul mixed with blues and local bands.

  • "Yummy with a capital Y. Delicious charcuterie, salami, and cheese; wonderfully flavorful tempura green beans; delectable side dishes; and incredibly crafted cocktails. The service here cannot be beat. It's a small place, make a reservation, and enjoy!!"

  • "Olympic Provisions was a wonderful find thanks to a review we read in The Guardian. Delicious charcuterie boards - we tried the Spanish and French with chorizo and pork shoulder being standouts. Oysters were wonderful. Buratta agrumato cheese was delicious served with fried basil and oven roasted tomato. We were able to purchase some sausage from the deli case and enjoy our meat the next day. Great wine and cocktails. Finished our meal with a wonderful olive oil cake. Small and intimate location with very funky decor."

  • "My favorite restaurant in Portland. Always consistent! Always an amazing experience! Even a quasi 80% vegetarian-20% pescatarian like me finds OP delectable.. When I start to eat proper meat again, I am not going anywhere else."

  • "Food was fantastic. Service was wonderful! We shared a sampler plate so we were able to try a little of many things!"

  • "We always pick a new spot for our celebratory anniversary dinner. This was different than our usual "foodie" choices yet we were very pleased. We ordered the Spanish charcuterie salami and cheese platter (added on a couple of cheeses),steak tar tar, and butter leaf salad. The waiter helped us select a lovely red wine to compliment our food. We passed on the main course since this was enough for us. We plan on returning!"

  • "We got there 10 minutes early and the waitress said our table was not ready. Which is fine because we were early. So we were asked to sit in the bar area. The place is smaller. Then we were not seated until 15 minutes after our reservation time. It also was a Wednesday, so we didn't think it would be too busy. I have never had to wait after making a reservation on opentable. I was a little disappointed. The food was good. They had a lot of interesting choices. We liked the different themed boards, we got the Italian. Overall good food but we didn't like waiting for 25 minutes for a table we reserved 3 days in advanced."

  • "We come to the NW OP quite a bit and always have a fantastic experience, so this may be more of an Open Table issue: On our last visit we had reserved a table for two, but upon arrival we were told we could choose two seats at the communal table, two seats at the small-ish bar by the window, or a table outside where the sun would be in one of our eyes from the direction that tables are set. If we would have shown up unannounced just wanting to get in that would be totally understandable, but when you reserve a table, it should be ready when you arrive and not given to you as a plethora of options, none of which are ideal. Maybe there's not an option, but restaurants should be able to say "community or outdoor seating only" on Open Table."

  • "My recent dinner at Olympic Provisions was superb. There are good meals, excellent meals, and superb meals, like concerts. The staff are friendly in a genuine way, and know the menu down to every detail. Five of us shared a wide variety of dishes, and everything was wonderful and unique. Of particular note were all sausages, and the pork loin, which is brined before cooking."

  • "We had a lovely meal at Olympic Provisions, the food was outstanding. We enjoyed the before dinner cocktails, different and deadly. The wine our waitress suggested was also wonderful. She did forget our order of brussel sprouts or I would have rated service higher. Timing from the kitchen was perfect. I just wasn't prepared for how small the restaurant is. We sat at the counter looking out to the street so it made conversation awkward."

  • "Treat yourself to a lovely evening at the best restaurant in Portland. The service is superb, the environment it intimate and romantic, and the food is excellent. We celebrate our anniversary here every year and it is always so special."

  • "If you like salamis and the like, this is the place to go. Numerous choices of different styles (Spanish, Italian, French). Fun to sit at the small kitchen bar and see the chefs prepare the food. You're pretty much in the kitchen when sitting there. I wish I remembered by waiter's name, but he was friendly, helpful and professional. Steered me to some good choices. I would definitely go again."

  • "We had a delightful time at Olympic Provisions. The space is lovely and the food was delicious. Our friend, from Ohio, had the French board for his dinner. He thoroughly enjoyed every single bite. The roast pork was crispy on top and moist within, and the pasta was so tender. Each item was well prepared. The service was happily friendly and professional. A really lovely evening. Thank you."

  • "A fantastic smorgasbord of tasty salamis, rillette and acompaniments, cauliflower soup yum! And a salad made for heaven- topped off with chocolate salami! A delight for the taste buds!"

  • "An outstanding dinner. Cocktails were great. We were swooning over the Buratta and the Steak Tartare. The chinook in leek sorrel cream sauce was amazing. This restaurant is consistently one of the best in town."

  • "Sub-average service resulted in a disappointing evening. Although entrees were fine, we were told that the chef would not appreciate us wanting the bratwurst on a hoagie despite the fact that it's served like that at dinner. In addition, our one dessert...pre-made cool cheesecake with warm caramel syrup...took 20 minutes to prepare. We were told that the kitchen (both cooks) was working as hard as they could...which tells me they were either understaffed or not juggling orders very well. A previous attempt to enjoy brunch on a weekend was met with a very curt rebuke for trying to enter the restaurant 5 minutes before they officially opened (although the door was wide open as they prepared the outdoor seating). • "This was my first visit to Olympic Provisions, and I will most definitely be back. We ordered the Spanish Board, Italian Board, and kielbasa a la carte; everything was amazing! The meats were incredibly flavorful and rich, and were paired nicely with olives, cheeses, and nuts. Since we did not order any entrees, I cannot say whether or not a full meal would be satisfying for a hearty appetite; however, the quality of the items we did try was superb. Dessert was equally mind-blowing: the salted caramel cheesecake and rhubarb ice cream are to die for. If you are a carnivore with a sweet tooth, you owe it to yourself to try this place. While pricey, it is well worth it for a special occasion. The service was also very pleasant -- gold star!"

  • "Food is great and service is exceptional. Can be a little crowded is all the bad I have to say as tables are very close together. Once you start eating you dont notice it though."

  • "Our foursome had a wonderful experience at Olympic provisions NW. All the food items were exciting & delicious, especially the prime rib. I loved my lamb shank but it was definitely too salty for me. The board was good as was dessert. But the highlight of our visit was the sensational service by Katy - how professional! One of our party was not the easiest guest to please, but Katy was up to the task. I bought some Kielbasa on the way out and it was great at home. Great staff - I recommend it to all."

  • "My husband started with a sausage and then had a prime rib, which he said was great. I'm not a meat eater so I had a citrus salad and halibut, which was also great! I like how you can get a pint of wine instead of a glass, 2 oz. more for $2. Good service too!"

  • "My husband and I went here to celebrate on Friday night. We can hands-down say it was the best dinner we have ever had out. We had an Italian charcuterie plate, amazing drinks, and meals to die for. I had the lamb shank and my husband ordered half a chicken. This type of restaurant is our of our price range on a normal day, but for this celebration we thought it was worth every penny. Thanks for the lovely dinning experience, Olympic Provisions!"

  • "Had high hopes for this restaurant. Went for the Dining month $29 to try it out, but really didn't expect to find kielbasa and sauerkraut as the special. Ordered something else which was very good. Waiter was awesome, but doubt I would go back."

  • "Beautiful. The whole evening, from the delicious food to the ambiance was lovely. I don't find too many gems, but their bar for lunch to an amazing dinner for two in the evening, we are loving you guys in our neighborhood. Thank you for cooking food that just melts in your mouth!"

  • "This is our go-to neighborhood spot. The menu is on the small side, but every dish is artful and delicious. If nothing else appeals one night, the chicken is always a treat. The wines are carefully selected, interesting, and most importantly...good! What an addition to dining in NW Portland! The space is small and simple but has a great, homey--yet special, friendly feel."

  • "Loved the food and experience of dining at O.P. Delicious meat tray, entree, and desserts. Service was only 3 stars because they were very busy and forgot the only side we ordered with the lamb shank. Otherwise it was the perfect evening. :)"

  • "if you are into charcuterie - this is probably a great place to go for happy hour or late afternoon nibble. Dinner on the other hand I am not sure - the dining table space is really poorly laid out - so unfortunately 2 of the 2 tops are in the path of everyone from servers to other customers - thats where we were seated. I had the true cod - strange combination of cold potatoe salad with pickled items with the small hot cod. It wasn't 'bad' just not my taste. The other entree was the 1/2 rotisserie chicken which was pretty good."

  • "This was an amazing evening out in Northwest Portland, and one that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant is small but in a very unique and homey feel. The location provides a ton of free curb parking, and the service was quick and experienced. Our waiter made great recommendations, and the food was delicious. While it was pricey for us (two graduate students), it was the perfect place to have a nice dinner out."

  • "When my husband suggested this restaurant, I was a bit turned off thinking it was just charcuterie. While their charcuterie plates are excellent, I'm still remembering the lamb shoulder we had. It was so yummy--crips and crackly on the outside and juicy and tender inside. It was sooo good. A simple salad was so fresh and crisp that it too was memorable. We had the charcuterie (I think the French one) which was very good and then we split the salad and lamb. Dessert was really good also. More than enough food. Interesting bar drinks also."

  • "This place was FANTASTIC! I've tried very many variations of chorizo, salamis and they had the best meats, rabbit pate I've ever had! Their wine list is amazing with all of the most notable wines out there especially the hot local ones. Food was overall amazing, and I rated it less than a five because my lamb was good but the grains under weren't my favorite! Overall, definitely going to come back and recommend to friends! Service was exceptional as well!"

  • "Fresh and bright, casual and relaxed. Food is consistently excellent and inventive, especially of course the charcuterie which is all house made. The wait staff is knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. It is a tiny place and the noise level can be such that it is hard to hear your dinner companion and too easy to overhear the people next to you."
