  • "Perfectly ok restaurant. As usual for Texas the A/C is set to 70F just for you to feel uncomfortable. But the ambiance was actually pleasant, and the service was good. The food was kind of a mix feeling, I mostly blame the seasoning. The beef was extra salty to the point where my wife could not eat it. Same thing but less extreme for the fried tong, and I'm big tong fan, but this one was too salty. Apart from that the food was good, not excellent but good. The produce are top notch quality, that is true. Now comes the bill, we paid around 100$ (before tip) for 2 starters and 2 entrees, no drinks, no desert. In this range of restaurant Olivia does not make my top 10"

  • "Had been wanting to go here for a while now. We made a brunch reservation and were seated immediately when we arrived, even though they were packed. Service was top notch--as former restaurant owners, we always notice the presence of management, and Olivia was a well-oiled machine, at least the morning we were there. Food: Foie and grits were delicious, although the fois gras portion was predictably small. Husband loved his pork belly dish-- We are planning on returning next time we are in town."

  • "My party of four arrived 20 minutes early at Olivia, one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. Our relatives had flown in from Seattle. We were seated right away but had still not been served anything but olives and the wine we ordered after an hour and twenty minutes. The kitchen was clearly out of kilter as we witnessed two tables which were seated well after ours receive and finish their main courses. When our main courses arrived (after great apology from our waiter), my wife's fish was mushy and very unappealing. The kitchen was happy to substitute an alternate dish which the waiter stated would take five minutes but arrived twenty minutes later. Bill should have been automatically adjusted, but required our specific request."

  • "Seriously. You must. Found my way to this amazing find for a date-night with my wife and could not be happier. Grabbed a table outside, took Paul's recommendation for a bottle for wine, and dove in to a dining experience unlike I've had in Austin in quite some time. The Kettlecorn Brussel Sprouts are enough to create an Olivia-addiction, but the joy did not stop there. Wife went light with the risotto, the contents of which must have been pulled from the garden not 15 feet away. And while the pork was absolutely fabulous, the brie grits that accompanied it were unbelievable. Don't let the taxidermist next door fool you (this is South Lamar) or the two Ferraris and a Bentley scare you (it's a reasonable place). You must eat here."

While it doesn't serve liquor, they had standard brunch drinks. The portions were adequate and I felt full without being stuffed afterwards. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others. Great atmosphere as well."

All of the apps were awesome (Panzanella was the best of the three we tried), and the antelope tenderloin was heavenly (perhaps we're partial to antelope...). The toughest part of the night was deciding what to get. Next time we'll just do the 10 course tasting so the chef can decide for us."

  • "We're big fans of Olivia's dinner tasting menus. This was the first time we'd been for brunch. The food didn't disappoint. My Benneduck - eggs Benedict w/ duck confit, fennel, and scallions - was delicious. My dining partners loved their Macdaddy, south Austin omelette, and short rib cheeseburger. Olivia's creative mimosas with blood orange and mixed berry juice were tasty and beautiful. There were some minor service issues. We arrived on time for our 10AM reservation and had to wait at the bar ~15 minutes, as they were still in the process of opening. There was a little confusion with our order; they brought us pancakes we didn't order and my pineapple was raw, not grilled. Still, overall a very pleasant brunch with friendly service."

  • "9 of us went here for my mother's birthday brunch. None of us had been before, though we've all driven past it thousands of times. A buddy of mine told me that he took his lady there and it was incredible. Not only did it meet our expectations, it BLEW THEM OUT OF THE WATER. Excellent job guys! Everyone loved their food, the look and feel of the place, the staff was friendly--all of the above was perfect. And to top it off, they have a garden and a chicken coop in the backyard where (from what I understand) a good deal of their product comes from. Go, spend your money here, now."

  • "Our experience at Olivia on a Sunday morning was awful. The place was very noisy and completely overrun with toddlers and inattentive parents. We had to wait OVER AN HOUR after being seated for our food. The food was tasteless, the presentation unimaginative, and the prices exorbitant. Our server, tho very nice, was incredibly overworked and as such, inattentive. The host apologized for the extreme delay but did nothing to make amends. It is hard to eat healthy with their brunch menu so I asked that the spinach omelet be done with egg whites and no cheese. It was about the size of a Post-It note with a measly hard piece of over toasted bread. NEVER AGAIN!"

It was too crowded and noisy to carry on a conversation, so we just sat there and watched the kitchen staff. Not my idea of a lovely brunch. Took quite awhile to get our coffee. Food was good, but overall we didn't have the good experience I was expecting."
