Diner Reviews
  • "Awesome crab fondue, wonderful, gracious chef, and my wait person Betsy couldn't have been nicer!"

  • "Our party was excited at the menu options. When our food arrived, all 4 of us were disappointed in the lack of flavor. Definitely not worth the high price for this bar food. 2 of us also ordered specialty drinks, which were very watered down. Not what expected from this restaurant/bar."

  • "I had a salt issue with my chicken dinner and there was no problem getting a different meal. Very accommodating management."

  • "Some of my family was visiting from out of state and asked to go to a "real Chicago" bar/restaurant....and they really enjoyed it...great bar and the place is gorgeous. New menu is excellent."

  • "Nice atmosphere. Not too loud, despite the ridiculous number of TVs. Great beer list and really good food. Our server was very nice and just the right amount of attentive."

  • "Great place to watch a weekend game with friends while enjoying brunch with an excellent booze selection."

  • "I like the look and feel of this place, and they have a large beer selection. Wonderful tv's. I had the pulled pork and I thought it was pretty good, and the pretzel bites which were also tasty. But every time I eat here, I feel like the food sits like a lead weight. I keep trying wanting to like it, but I never feel good afterwards. I would only recommend it for drinks unless you have a cast iron stomach."

  • "Outstanding beer list including beer that is not readily available elsewhere. Also, the signature burger itself is destination dining."

  • "we had enjoyed one of their sister restaurants, and Pour House didn't disappoint."
    Dined on 2/27/2014
  • "So the food here was fantastic - basically slightly higher end bar food - which paired perfectly with the huge beer selection. We also loved that you could get 6 oz beers, so we were able to try quite a few different beers each. The service at this restaurant is definitely where the ball was dropped though, our waiter didn't come around very often at all - and when he finally did come around to ask if we needed another beer, he also asked if we were ready to order our food even though we had ordered already 20 minutes before that. He said 'oh that's right' and then it was another 20+ minutes until our food came - so obviously he had completely forgotten to put it in and didn't even apologize for it. I would still give it another chance."

  • "Five of us dined at Old Town Pour House on a Thursday night. Yes, they have alot of beers. Yes, it looks like a good place for groups to meet up. But, our waitress was very impatient with us and our food was all overcooked."

  • "The food was delicious and the restaurant is very nice and spacious. Plus, it's in a good area with a lot to do around it. I definitely would go back."

  • "Yes. it's a sports bar, but the food stands out as well. From lobster corn dogs to fried pickle chips to duck club sandwiches to ahi tuna to hamburgers and salads, the selection was fun and delicious. The atmosphere is fun as well and everyone has a good time. Good service and good prices. A huge array of draft beers and select wines. Definitely a place to frequent!"

  • "My husband and I were on our way to see a Second City show and decided to get dinner here beforehand. Great beer selection, really good food, and great service made for an awesome night. Cameron was our server and she was attentive and personable. She knew the beers really well and her recommendations were very well received. The food is upscale pub food done well. My compliments to the kitchen."

  • "Loved atmosphere, high ceilings, windows, comfy stools and enjoyed the gourmet twists on bar food! Had special appetizer with sweet potato puffs, gruyere and not sure what else but we all loved and devoured it! Very original! All our food was great, but Mac and cheese with truffles was the best! Only negative was that all tables seated were next to each other, even when tables turned, tho most other tables in front area were empty. Would have been nicer to be spread out bit more since restsurant was less than half full....we were there early and it was brutally cold night!"

  • "This is a great spot to go to dinner with friends on a week night. All of the food is good, and they have a great beer selection."

  • "The duck club, though promising in description, is nothing to write home about. It is primarily all bread. The salmon burger was incredible though and the sauce was fantastic. The beer list is great and I love the atmosphere in there. Dark and trendy."

  • "as this kind of place goes, better than averasge food and drink"

  • "Went for Saturday Brunch. Place was pretty quiet overall. Brunch menu wasn't huge, but the lunch menu was available too. Food was good and the service was good too. I would go there again for lunch/brunch for sure."

  • "I have come here before for drinks with friends and really enjoyed it. The beer list is really extensive and I've found there's a lot of good options to fit whatever drinking mood I'm in. Same with mixed drinks and good scotch whiskey etc. However, I haven't eaten there before and was pleasantly surprised. I had the NY strip steak sandwich and it definitely hit the spot. Kind of wish I had ordered two. It came with fries which were decent. Plus I just had a fun time eating out with my friends, its a good atmosphere and the bar makes it easy to keep things going after dinner if people are up for it."

  • "Good beer and wine list. Could you possibly have ONE more vegan option on the menu? Every time I go I have to have the spinach salad, which is good and filling but gets kind of old. Even just a black bean burger or something more hearty would be awesome. Fun spot, decent service, nice atmosphere/decor. Will be back since it is just around the corner."

  • "Our drinks were beer and served in a timely manner. Our food was only fair, but eatable. We liked the open windows for the feel of outdoor dining, but the high ceilings really created a loud experience."

  • "I love Old Town Pour House. Their NY Strip Steak sandwich is my absolute favorite. Extensive beer list. Good service. Great place to watch the game as they have a wall of TVs behind the bar playing almost every sports game you would want to watch. Always plan ahead or make a reservation if you're going on a weekend as the place fills up quick."

  • "Perfect for what we were looking for - very casual but good food."

  • "Fried pickles too doughy, mac and cheese too runny. Buffalo shrimp was the star."

  • "Old Town Pour House is the perfect place to watch the game and enjoy a wide selection of beers. The brunch menu did not disappoint either! The blody mary is wonderfully balanced and really tasty! A great spot in Old Town, looking forward to coming back soon!"

  • "Really, really, really noisy. Great to hang out with your buddies, but definitely not for families. The beer selection is awesome."
    Dined on 3/15/2013
  • "I think if someone is a beer connoisseur this would be a great place; especially if you have deep pockets! Specialty beers are pricey. We had the gumbo and shared a chicken ceasar wrap-- food was okay. It wasn't crowded when we were there, but we waited about 5 minutes or longer for someone to take our order--perhaps the shifts were changing at that time. I'd recommend Pour House because the beer selection is phenomenal, but be prepared to pay for a small brew."

  • "Good selection of beers. steak sandwiches, burgers and anything barbeque."
    Dined on 12/19/2012
  • "Unexpectedly good food, and everything they say about the beer selection in terms of variety and depth is true. Moderate food prices, slightly high but still acceptable beer prices for full sizes (e.g. $6 Guinness). Tastings are expensive given the tiny sizes. Overall a great experience."
    Dined on 11/23/2012
  • "This is a great sports bar. Busy with great service & amazing food!"
    Dined on 10/25/2012
  • "Went there on the date because we both like craft beers and they have 90 on tap! Wednesday night and it was loud - more televisions than I expected. But our server was great and "The Curmudgeon" beer flight was humourous and tasty. Can't go wrong with Dead Guy or Old Rasputin. We sat upstairs which was superhelpful in letting us have a conversation. Would definitely go back, but probably with a larger group or for drinks after work."

  • "Great experience. Love the decor, especially the wood paneling, trim, and lighting. The TVs are also awesome. Came for Monday Night Football and have many, many TVs to look at. Great good. Nice beer selection. Solid cocktails."

  • "Pour House is one of my favorite restaurants on Wells St. It has a fun atmosphere and serves up delicious dishes!"

  • "We went for the first time to Old Town Pour House this last week to celebrate a friend's engagement. We made a reservation for 7:30 and were seated quickly after arriving. The beer list is amazing - I'd go back again and again just for that. The burger and steak sandwich were really good, but the tacos were just ok. I had the fish and chips which were borderline bad - the fish was overcooked and very heavily battered, although the fries are awesome. My biggest complaint was that our waitress was almost nonexistent. We probably would have gone through several more rounds had she been paying attention to us. Overall its definitely worth a try."
    Dined on 8/29/2012
  • "Service was terrible, food just okay. You'd think a place that had so many beers on tap would be better at educating you about them, not to mention, they'd have one in your hand within 10 minutes of arriving to your table. It took more like 20-25 minutes to get one and with limited advice and recommendations on which one to go with. The food (which was nothing spectacular and pricey) was the opposite, and came way too fast. Appetizer and dinner at the same time. I will never go back."
