Old Oyster Factory5/22/13As always, the food was great. We started with the crab and artichoke dip...outstanding...best we have had on the island. Yes, that means that on one trip, we ate there twice! It's THAT good! Our most recent visit for my husband's birthday was as memorable as the others. Great table in the window at sunset, amazing hushpuppies brought to the table, friendly server, delicious food (I got filet mignon and my husband got scallops/crab cakes and calimari)...overall fabulous! Had a reservation & they wee ready for us, but we decided to sit at the bar. Everyone very friendly & helpful offering their suggestions as to there favorites.
Recommend "oysters savannah" - yummy.
They had a special oysters on the half shell $.50 ea.
Needless to say, we mad pigs of ourselves. Also, the marscapone dessert is fabulous.

It was well worth it! We each got the trio which included lobster tail, shrimp, and scallops. I forgo the scallops for more shrimp. The meal also came with vegetables and baked potato. It was really good. We also tried their gulf oysters because we had never had any before. They were also good. We also enjoyed the view even though it was pouring! Thanks for a great dinner. Tables at the windows have a great view of the water. Menu is varied and has something for everyone, with of course the seafood as the specialty. We had great service and each entree was highly rated, also had steamed and raw oysters as appetizers which were excellent. One medium well steak was almost raw and had to be sent back. Waitress was very good. Had to wait too long for drink order and goup of children were running and making noise all over the place. Beautiful water views, excellent food and friendly servers. The seafood trio (lobster, shrimp & scallops)was excellent. Cooked perfectly. The beef filet and shrimp skewers were outstanding. Very tender beef and great shrimp. The baked potato was one of the best we have ever tasted. Never visited OOF b.c always assumed was a "tourist trap". Not so! Good food, fabulous views and superior service. (Kari was awesome!) It's not cheap, so be forewarned.
