  • "We had a reservation at 11:00 on Easter. We got our table quickly, but there weren't many people and the server was slow coming. She took forever to bring our drinks. The prime rib and parts of the leg of lamb were way undercooked. The manager came out immediately and took them back. He checked on us and refilled our drinks too. Food was fabulous. We had 1 leg of lamb (new one was perfect), 3 prime ribs (they took them back and brought out better ones cooked more medium like ordered (delicious), seafood quiche (super good), and shrimp and grits (yummy too!) The food we got for the price was really good! We had key lime pie, cheesecake, or lava cake... Of course we all tried each other's and they were all too delicious to pick!"

We had clams, oyster, steamed shrimps for appetizers and they were all fantastic. I would recommend people visiting to try this restaurant. "

  • "Our table was available early and positioned where we had requested; along the windows in anticipation of the setting sun over the mars. The staff was, as always, very pleasant and accommodating. The food was prepared to our expectations and served in a timely manner. Our entire party of 12 enjoyed the dining experience, including the occasional surfacing of an alpha alligator meandering along the open marsh area beyond the back deck. We look forward to our next visit. "

  • "First, it's nice to find a place that takes reservations anymore. The Old Oyster Factory was awesome. We got right in and our server was amazing. Great drinks and delicious seafood. Oh and the huge basket of hush puppies was also yummy. The weather was awful, but on a sunny warm day it would be great to sit outside and take in the sweet view. Will definitely go back when visiting Hilton Head. "

  • "Great food with culinary flare. Environment was a little 'rough' just because the weather (pouring down rain) drove everyone indoors. So the noise level was high and we had large tables around us. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and the carmel ice cream was to die for. Definitely suggest this location - views would have been spectacular expect for the pouring down rain. "

  • "Service was great! Food was okay but nothing special compared to other area restaurants. We requested a window table With seating for nine people. A circular table would have been better and we were nowhere near a window. We were right in a very high traffic area The restaurant was incredibly noisy"

  • "The restaurant has a nice view overlooking marsh and Broad Creek inlet salt water where oysters are harvested. We were able to watch the crew who has the local rights unload 4 containers of oysters from their 18 foot boat. While we were dining tide dropped abut 2 feet. An interesting experience My spouse had the early bird special of fish corn chowder soup and crab cake with beans and whipped potatoes – all excellent. I had had coconut shrimp appetizer with and entree of brochette (skewer) of shrimp & filet mignon medallions. Shrimp was reasonable but I have had better. The brochette very tasty and tender. We had hush puppies (corn) for bread. The service was very friendly and good."

  • "We like to come here before we leave HHI. With our OpenTable reservation, we were seated immediately at a lovely table by the window. (We walked by several folks waiting for tables with pagers) Roger provided friendly, prompt service. The food was good- we all had evening specials including a nice local bass, although I think the food is a little pricey. But the water view makes up for that. We will be back, looking forward to warmer temps and possible outside seating."

  • "We chose this restaurant entirely on the recommendation of Open Table. It was an excellent choice. It just happened that it wasn't a busy night and we ate outside alone. The food was excellent. The Oysters on the half shell were delicious as was the fried oyster basket. I rated the service lower because it took them quite a while to understand that we were eating outside not jus waiting for a table inside. Once that was straightened out the service was top notch. Our waiter PD was fast and pleasant."

Waiter didn't bring out the hush puppies until right before the entrees arrived-even though we asked for them twice. The grouper was so over cooked that in hindsight, I should have sent it back. Additionally, it was expensive for a very disappointing meal. We are not planning to return."

  • "This was our second time at this restaurant and took new friends with us. Always in the past, using Open Table we are seated at a table with a view. This time we were seated in the dark adjacent to the door. The waitress seemed new and had to be reminded to take our order. She was pleasant but slow. The food was good as expected. Probably return but this time will ask for a room with a view."

  • "We went for the early dining (sunset dinner). We were pleased with their much improved sunset dinner since the last time we dined there a few years ago. Dishes my husband and I ordered were nicely seasoned and looked pretty on the plates. The only downside was my gumbo was lukewarm, and my husband's caeser salad was drenched with dressing. We'll definitely again.."

  • "This was a lovely restaurant with beautiful views. The Oysters were wonderful and the food was delicious! We ordered the special-- broiled lobster tail, broiled scallops, and shrimp. It came with a baked potato and DELICIOUS hush puppies! At the end of the night, we had 2 specials, oysters, and 2 beers.... $170 bill!!!! It was good food, but oh my gosh! We had a delicious dinner at our hotel the night after, and it was almost half the price for a comparable quality. The view wasn't worth the extra bucks, so I won't be going back."

  • "Hilton Head restaurants can get very crowded. When making our reservation, at a relatively early time, we still got notice that there might be a wait. Fortunately there wasn't. We were seated immediately and shown to a table by a window with a marsh view which included alligators. Our guests were impressed. We shared appetizers, the oysters Rockefeller and Savannah. Both good. Also the cold shellfish sampler, enough to please everyone. A down note was the hush puppies were dense and doughy, looking undercooked inside but not out. We didn't need them anyway. My husband and had the corvina with lobster sauce special. It was perfectly cooked, nicely balanced. We will return though likely not during the busier summer months."

  • "We went to the Old Oyster Factor on our extended weekend trip to Hilton Head. It was a last minute decision, and ended up there on a Monday night. We ended up eating at the bar because we didn't feel like waiting for a table. There was only 2 bartenders for the entire bar and service station, which apparently wasn't enough. Once we got their attention they were very sweet, but we felt rushed to place our order and didn't feel like we had time to ask questions. We ordered oysters to start which were delicious (as they should be based on the history of the building), and they were on happy hour for 75cent/each. However, both our entrees (steak and scallops) were very overcooked. We might go back for drinks, but not for food."
