  • "We go to NYAJs about every few months. We have never had a bad meal. The pizzas are fantastic and the entrees are always delicious and creative. While you can encounter a wait, calling ahead does help quite a bit. You may still have to wait for a few minutes, but it is not long. The dipping bread and oil is amazing and wonderful. The birthday club is terrific. Free entrée and dessert the two weeks surrounding your birthday. We always have a fabulous experience at NYAJ. "

My waitress was very good and delivered our hot food and coffees with a pleasant demeanor! The manager was a hoot too, he was very nice! The waitress and manager chastised me for them not reading the ingredients since I have a food allergy Of course I had a reaction and refused to even touch my dinner after a terrible cocktail, which was supposedly fine. If you have a food allergy STAY AWAY"

  • "A friend and I decided to go to lunch and go later to avoid the crowds! Well, making reservations for 1:30 made no difference, the parking lot was very crowded and the restaurant itself was hopping. The hostess had noted that I had requested a booth, and didhonor that. Our server was so nice, and checking in on us often just in case we needed something else. Food, both of us had the balsamic glazed salmon was outstanding. As I said, another busy lunch at Not Your Average Joes, but food and service was still very good!"

  • "Using open table is extremely helpful when trying to get a seating at NYAJ,s which can be packed creating a long wait for a table. The staff is very friendly and helpful and creates a feeling of a family owned place and you are an old friend.the menu is varied and they are constantly creating new dishes and specials keeping choices fresh. Although not haute cuisine it is creative and consistently tasty and reasonably priced fresh food that keeps us coming back. They are sensitive to the diner,s particular needs and will customize any dish for their needs as we regularly do with our restrictive diets and approach to food. This is a real plus for us. They are very consistent in their preparations and presentation and we regularly return."

And a reservations is a MUST on a friday or Saturday night because it is extremely busy. The wife and I we having a date night and she picked NYAJ's for the chicken enchilladas which she loves. Prompt courteous service as has always been our experience."

  • "NYAJ in Dartmouth is the place to go if you want a variety of great food. You can get a fantastic pizza or a gourmet style entree or just some outstanding appetizers. I have never seen this restaurant empty - even in off-hours, there are people getting a bite to eat. Their open table reservations and their call-ahead seating are very convenient. It's THE place to go."

  • "The food was great as usual. The service was fast and friendly! It's a tight restaurant (tables close together) but not uncomfortably so. I liked that I was texted when tables became available before my reservation to see if I wanted to come earlier because it was a late reservation. I would have appreciated if the server had acknowledged the birthday in our party since I had put it in the reservation notes. The meals are not cheap but the servings are large!"

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and it was really just chicken lettuce and dressing so that was a little disappointing I figured maybe they could afford To spruce it up maybe add some croutons. The rest of the food was delicious and of course the staple bread and oil didn't disappoint."

People without reservations during our time there either had buzzers waited to be seated, or at the full bar! The only thing I could complain about is wait time, BUT Joe's allows you to call or make a reservation online so even that really isn't that bad now! I've had almost everything on the menu at least once and never been disappointed. Parking can be a little tough but worth it! Try them out! The seating is comfortable and the decor has an up class feeling. Try the bread! My favorite dish is the meatloaf!"

  • "Their regular menu was available as well as a special Valentine menu. I selected a dish from the special menu. It was haddock over a crabcake with sauteed spinach and potato chips. The haddock was melt in your mouth and fresh, the crabcake was as delicious as usual. The sauteed spinach was very tasty. Wish they had this on their regular menu. My husband chose from the regular menu and got the sirloin tips. He has gotten this dish before and it was as good this time as before. The tips were very tasty and tender. The server was very polite and accommodating and we did not have to wait long for our meal."
