Service appears to have declined considerably over the years. Staff is green — pacing is confusing and dishes are dropped without silverware or serving utensils. The vision also appears to be lacking. The menu includes lots of local, seasonal ingredients, but the dishes often lack depth of flavor and sometimes fail to come together at all (see: brisket agnolotti with cherries and hazelnut). Almonds added to the stracciatella did not seem to be transformed at all (not roasted, not chopped). Nopa is no longer the institution it once was.

As always, an incredible meal with incredible service, the desserts were delicious! A young man from Missouri waited our table and he was absolutely delightful and courteous. We’ll be back again.

Loved this place years ago, not as good as we remembered. Entrees came before we had time to finish appetizers. Felt rushed…food was ok, gem salad was tasty. Entrees just ok, nothing special. Drinks were good. Won’t be back.

The service is always stellar, cocktails were on point, and the fried little fish reminded me of the original ones where the batter is a lot lighter than what I’ve seen for the past year. Couldn’t be happier Nopa is the best restaurant in San Francisco.

NOPA continues to live up to its reputation as one of San Francisco’s best dining experiences. From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm and vibrant — a perfect balance of casual sophistication. The high ceilings and open kitchen create a lively, welcoming atmosphere that’s great for both date nights and group dinners. The menu is rooted in California cuisine with a seasonal focus, and everything we ordered was beautifully executed. The wood-grilled pork chop was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, and the flatbread with seasonal vegetables was a standout starter. Don’t skip the cocktails — they’re thoughtful, balanced, and expertly crafted. The bartenders clearly know what they’re doing. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. NOPA is the kind of place that feels both special and accessible. Whether you’re a local or visiting SF, it’s absolutely worth the reservation. I’ll definitely be back.

Came here for Mother’s Day. They need more high chairs. Requested one in the reservation only to find out there wasn’t one available. Saw many other families in the same predicament. C’mon…high chairs are stackable. Please just add a few more so we can have try to have some peace while trying to enjoy our quick rare fancy night out before putting the kids to bed.
