No. 9 ParkThe staff from Valet to MaitreThe staff from Valet to Maitre D to table server and bus staff was excellent. We appreciated their help in celebrating our 49th Anniversary.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is our go to place forThis is our go to place for special occasions. The food is fabulous and the service is that best I've had anywhere. There wasn't a question about food or wine that our server Inez couldn't answer - very professional and friendly; she actually remembered us from our last visit, which wasn a few months ago.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper food, lacking bar knowledgeWe had an excellent dinner (prix fix menu). Quality of the food was excellent. Prune stuffed gnochhi (excellent) followed by halibut as main course. Excellent cuisson of the fish.
The only negative point to mention was the knowledge of the lady at the bar, where we started. We ordered a bottle of champagne of the producer H. Goutorbe. She was however not able to give any info about this champagne. When asked what grapes this champagne was made of (chardonnay/ pinot noir/ pinot meunier? What kind of blend) she had no answer and made no attempt of finding out via a more knowledgable staff member. A restaurant of this quality and stature should do better!
By the way, the champagne itself was good ( made, we assume, of dominantly pinot noir).6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!I was already expecting a great restaurant and it did really was great! It is very expensive but it is worth every penny. Everything was just excelent. It is a five stars restaurants6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMJessica made the experienceNo. 9 Park was as usual a special experience but our wait person, Jessica, was truly exceptional. Her knowledge of food, her demeanor and easy way makes her a stand out in fine dining. The other gem tonight was the dessert combinations. The pastry chef is inventive but not just for the sake of shocking you with unusual combinations. Presentation was stupendous.
From the minute we got out of our car, the valet set the tone for an amazing night. The young man had a charm seldom seen at curbside. The food leaned heavily on what is at peak right now from ramps to rhubarb. Barbra Lynch continues to surprise Alan's delight with her ever evolving menu.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie HeavenThis is a superb restaurant. The menu items are complex combinations of flavor that will delight your taste buds. Very importantly, the portions a sufficient, but not too large. I find inferior restaurants make up for their lack of good food by over-serving. By serving the right sized portions one can fully appreciate the thought that Chef has put into preparing the dish completely. Also, the staff is highly competent and very knowledgeable about the menu and the preparation. Take their advice, you will not be disappointed.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb mealAnniversary dinner for my wife and myself. Excellent food, service, and all-around experience.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy joint, yet not stuffy!!!I don't usually take tasting menus, but I tried it here and it was exceptional.
They are willing to go out if their way to make any request possible.
Extremely service oriented, the place is "haute cuisine" however not a hint of snob.
They make you feel extremely comfortable.
Extremely knowledgable in very very fine wine selection and cheese.
The fromagier had one of the fine selections from around the world that I have ever seen, and she was very passionate about her work.
One of the Boston finest, if not on the East Cost, or even US and world wide.
A fine hidden gem.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMRemarkable nightMy wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at No. 9 Park. The entire experience was exceptional. The service, the food and the wine was all wonderful. Most of all, we felt all the employees we encountered at No. 9 Park truely cared about our satisfaction and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. It was.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievable, not to be missed. We dined at No. 9 Park on our special anniversary, we hadn't been there in probably 6 or 7 years and had always meant to return. I can promise that we won't stay away very long again. No. 9 park is now in our top rotation with Cleo, Oh Ya, and Menton.
We had the 6 course dinner and added the signature gnocchi as an add-in. Each course was special, unbelievable flavors, and with just the right amount of food, not overwhelming. Every dish was outstanding and gnocchi was out of this world. The staff was patient, and paced the food perfectly with our conversation. I think we were there for over 3 hours. We've been talking about dinner for two days now!
If you love fine dining, don't hesitate and don't miss out.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWell done!Ambience, staff, food were excellent, as expected.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMy daughter and I celebratedMy daughter and I celebrated a birthday and graduation here on a Saturday night. It couldn't have been more special. The food was excellent. Every single bite.
The staff is very professional and buzzed around us all night , getting every detail just right. This was recommended by a friend of ours from Maine who works occasionally in Boston and she insisted that we try it.
The only drawback is that it is pretty pricey but that didn't stop us and I'm glad we went. Well done No 9 Park!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exceptional; The food was exceptional; the wait staff professional, knowledgeable, non-intrusive; the atmosphere was elegant and simple. Every course was incredibly delicious from the appetizer to the dessert. Anyone who loves outstanding food needs to eat at No. 9 Park.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderfulSpecial dining experience. You can menu pick a la carte - standard would be the 3 course fixed price menu ($69) or the multicourse tasting menu ($129). A bit pricey, but worth it. The cheese cart can be the dessert course or often a la carte, and is a must. My wife and I actually started with the cheese, sharing her portion that we included as her dessert course of her fixed price meal. Was wonderful. We found the fixed price menu to fill us but not overwhelm us. I had the lamb leg - with three types of preparation - and found the sausage preparation to be unusual, unique, and outstanding. She enjoyed the gnochi as her first course, a signature dish, and the halibut. Service was excellent but slow for me - 3 hr meal. Overall outstanding.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a fantastic experienceWe had a fantastic experience for my gf's bday. The Tuna Tartare and the oysters were fantastic although I had to ask for horseradish and cocktail sauce rather than them bringing it automatically.
The only real complaint I had from the night was that my veal cut was completely overcooked. I ordered it med rare and it came as though they had just taken it out of a beef stew. The individual slices served with the larger piece were fantastic though.
The staff was great, made it very special, recommended a great wine for us and even spelled out "Happy Birthday Catherine" on her desert.
Thank you!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMa havenA lovely dinner for two after a long day. The food was beautiful, inventive and delicious, and the service could not have been more gracious.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, amazing cocktailsAsk for the FULL cocktail list. It's about 40 cocktails long and it is fantastic.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service, good foodService was absolutely excellent. I had mixed reviews for the food, however. The mixed greens salad was boring, but the appetizer and mid-course meals were tasty. I was not impressed with the main course meal, and my husband found his main course (a medley of veal cuts) to be dry and boring. All portions of the dishes were very small. The two deserts of ice cream and tres leches cake was an utter disappointment. Why would a restaurant serve broken up bits of cake with processed cherries and then charge $21 for it? Also, how could 3 small scoops of ice cream possibly be $21? Overall, while No. 9 Park is a cozy place, with great service, I didn't think the food and the overall experience justified the price tag.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA great restaurantWe found this restaurant to be exceptionally pleasant in every way. The warm welcome, beautiful food, extremely good service together with the ambience of the restaurant with its' gentle lighting and soft background music made for an extremely enjoyable dining experience. My husband loves his wine and No. 9 has a very extensive and very good wine list which made choosing a delicious wine to accompany our food very easy. For starters I chose the tuna crudo and my husband the green and white asparagus, both were sublime. For our main course we both chose the halibut which was superb. We finished with a great cheese selection and port. A wonderful restaurant indeed.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was enjoyable and good.It was enjoyable and good. The appetizer- spring pea ravioli was superb and the deesert- chocolate mousse was excellent. I chose the duck and was not that impressed as it was tough and hard to cut. The service friendly and not stuffy. We went before the theater and I think it was a bit rushed to go to a place that only offers a three course meal option.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you've not been here, go.Barbara Lynch's mainstay has been here a while now. It's not changed... probably just as well. All the usual things to say... I doubt I could say something that's not already been said. If you've not been here, go.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious. The serviceFood was delicious.
The service was excellent...charming, helpful, & knowledgeable.
Looking forward to our next visit.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. The thingExcellent food. The thing I appreciated most was the service. We told them we needed to be at the theater on time. They gave us a running update on how long everything would take and invited us tome come back for dessert, part of our prix-fixe package, after the theater. Couldn't have been better. Complete opposite of a recent experience at Locke-Ober, which ignored our requests and couldn't even bring the check in less than ten minutes.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMStaff was warm and welcomingStaff was warm and welcoming after the terrible tragedy that the City of Boston had just suffered. We felt very fortunate that we were able to find some solice and peace in the environment of No. 9 Park. The cozy atmosphere made it feel like home. Food was outstanding (prune-stuffed gnocchi, yellowfin tuna crudo & duet of rohan duck) and there was a wonderful selection of wines which the bartender excellently paired, with our meal. Thank you!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I dined here,My wife and I dined here, one of our best experiences. Table by the window, excellent food, service and wine support. Had the six course meal, everything was perfect! Not inexpensive but worth it.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I had a perfectMy husband and I had a perfect dinner one recent Sunday night. We each had the pasta tasting and each course was better than the last! They incorporated fresh spring ingredients into every course which meant that everything was very fresh tasting and lighter than traditional pasta fare. Delicious! The service was amazing. All of the waitstaff were professional, prompt, and courteous, but still low key. Not pretentious at all as they are in similar restaurants. Overall a great experience- would highly recommend.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSometimes things just HAVESometimes things just HAVE to be just right..like a dinner party for ten to celebrate a special birthday. No 9 Park made it feel stress free and fun..the service right from the start..car valet and reception greeting.. was excellent.Drinks in the lounge, warm and insightful table service, great food,no hurry.Truly, an enjoyable evening!Thanks,9 Park for a memorable evening!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Dining Experience EVER !We received the best restaurant service that we have ever had from any restaurant. This was an experience that exceeded all expectations4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent restaurant, withAn excellent restaurant, with wonderful service. The portions are on the small side and it is expensive. I am not sure that I understood their menus as they are fixed price but seem to be flexible.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed a lovely anniversaryWe enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner! the service was impeccable and the food was amazing and the menu was well explained.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome service and greatAwesome service and great food. It was our wedding day and they gave us special drinks on the house for the occasion! Everyone was extremely nice and detailed on presenting the dishes.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDreadful waiterWe had two waiters, Matthew and an Asian girl who's name I can't recall(because they aren't supposed to introduce themselves which I find odd.)He was dreadful and had it not been for her he would have ruined the experience completely (which is why I only scored good on service The food of course was delicious, we had the 7 course with the wine flight and the cheese supplement at the end. We experienced and "orange" wine for the first time which was very interesting but in general all of the wines were lovely - FYI if you are more of a RED fan than white they will re-pair w/all reds if requested even with the fish dishes, I am a true believer of red wine w/fish so I would have done so had I known, maybe they could mention it somewhere/how.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived at the restaurantWe arrived at the restaurant just shy of our reserved time and were directed to a waiting area where a wait person offered us a beverage menu. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and the courses. We selected the Chefs menu which consisted of seven tapa like portions presented in white dishes with some garnish. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. This is a pricey restaurant with a fine wine list offered in half bottle portions. the wait staff was eager to assist in the selection of a sparkling wine for us. It was a wonderful experience.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThis was a special occasion for us and No. 9 Park did not disappoint. The menu was extremely interesting and everything we ordered was superb! When making our OpenTable reservation, I mentioned my wife birthday in the comment box, and her dessert was served with a special birthday greeting - a little thing with a huge impact that I really appreciated.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and serviceOutstanding food and service as usual. I don't know how to make the delicious things that come out of that kitchen. How to make???4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent experience-We had an excellent experience- food, atmosphere, service all superb. And, although we had advised mgt. we were going on to Symphony and needed to be gone by 7:15pm, we were unhurried and still met our deadline. A special time- and I look forward to being back!Paula Connolly, Shrewsbury MA3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMsuperb!Excellent staff-especiallysuperb!Excellent staff-especially the lady at the reception desk.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and excellent service.Great food and excellent service. We ordered from the 3-course prix fixe menu ($67) and were pleasantly surprised when they threw in a 4th course (crusted mahi-mahi before the entrees); it felt like a good value given the quality of the food and the length of time we were able to linger over dinner (about 3 hours). We were celebrating two birthdays in our group, which they knew because they had asked about any special occasions when calling to confirm the reservation; they also presented the desserts with a candle and happy birthday (name) written on the plates. Will be going back!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for Restaurant Week anWent for Restaurant Week an it was fantastic. The staff knew the menu in and out and had great wine pairin suggestions. A wonderful experience.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSomehow our reservation throughSomehow our reservation through open table was for the wrong date??!! plan ahead and allow enough time for the tasting menu3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNo 9 service was outstandingNo 9 service was outstanding - the back area is more secluded and quiet, with white tablecloths. The service was attentive - swooping in before you realize you need something - but not in your face. The portions were perfectly small, matched to their multi-course dining experience.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSat at the bar and enjoyedSat at the bar and enjoyed the lounge area with a few cocktails. The bartenders were great and were able to come up with different cocktails on the spot. The bar bites menu was a great accompaniment and provided a good variety.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an early dinner inWe had an early dinner in order to make a 7:30 curtain for a performance a few blocks away. The staff of 9 Park was incredibly accommodating, agreeing to let us come back after the performance to finish our meal (we had ordered dessert, but didn't have time for it). Apparently, no one had ever asked to do this before, but it didn't phase them a bit, and they were very welcoming when we returned at 10 p.m.; every staff person came over to our table to say hello. And we had an enjoyable additional hour there, eating our dessert and drinking. We enjoyed is so much, we came back again for dessert the next night after another performance.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dinner at No.We had a great dinner at No. 9 Park. It couldn't have been more perfect. Our waiter, Joe, was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate, and attentive. We could not have asked for better service. Everyone from the hostess to the manager to our waiter to the "busgirl" was lovely and incredibly efficient and on top of their game. Impeccable service aside, the food was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect and everything was prepared thoughtfully and creatively. Husband had mackerel and duet of duck, I had beets and steak, shared the cashew nougat dessert. We left satisfied and almost pampered. We cannot wait for an occasion to return!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific, attentive service,Terrific, attentive service, especially for a vegetarian.
