There is no minimum to the amount of people attending. The dining room is available for dinner parties as well as an exterior rooftop patio to entertain for cocktail's and Hors d'ouevres for an additional fee. You may also choose to host a cocktail reception using solely the upstairs rooftop
    We will assist in coordinating a menu paired with wines to meet the Food & Beverage minimum based on the day of the week that you would like to plan your event on.

  • Public Transit: There is a public transport drop off at the main Laguna Beach depot 100 Yards East of the building.

  • Parking Details: There is a lot which is attached to the Broadway side of the center next to the Local OCTA Transit Station for all patrons during business hours. Parking is also available as metered parking on Broadway and Beach in front of and to the South of the building.

Nirvana Grille is a California Bistro located in the heart of Downtown Laguna Beach, between Main Beach & the Historic Festival of Arts.

Our philosophy begins at the local level working closely with area growers and the highest quality purveyors to ensure that our predominately organic produce, meat, wild fish & free-range chicken are provided.

  • "Small, quiet and cozy restaurant. Excellent Sea bass but fair Caesar Salad. Good Minestrone Soup. The waiter was professional and attentive but could have had more personality. Our Hostess was friendly and we were given a private table for 6 in the back. Very nice touch with complimentary deserts for our birthday celebrations. Overall a good dining experience but we were rushed out at the end which put a damper on our celebration."

  • "I have dined at this restaurant in the past and loved it so I was very disappointed with my most recent experience. We had the Roasted Poblano Chile small plate, Mini Pulled Chicken Tostadas, caesar salads, filet mignon, and chocolate cake. The small plates were mediocre at best. The salad was terrible..they are trying way to hard to be unique and should stick to a traditional caesar salad. The steak was okay and the chocolate cake was dried out with the exception of the center. . It tasted like it may have been frozen prior. Overall, I am quite unimpressed and will not be returning. If you are looking for a great steakhouse try EnoSteak at the Ritz in Dana Point. Also, Broadway by Amar Santana is another really good one in the area."

  • "Read some past reviews saying the receptionist was rude but she was very pleasant. The wait staff also very good and attentive. The appetizers were large portions (hummus and a poblano chili dish). Pretty decent flavors but nothing incredible. The main course of vegetarian risotto was pretty darn rich but my wife liked it. My sea bass was a very small portion drowning in butter but tasty. The side of veggies was small but fresh. The price for the sea bass was way too much (over thirty dollars). We had apple pie for desert and it was served warm and was also tasty but reminded me of a pie you could get at Coco's. All in all, it wasn't an experience to complain about, but I won't be returning for something like an anniversary."

  • "Overall, the food was very good. We ordered the steak chimichurri and the seitan napoleon - vegan. My bf thoroughly enjoyed the steak which was perfect portion size and cooked correctly. My meal wasn't vegan, it had cheese on it. I didn't send it back because the server was confused from the beginning and overall, not engaged. The restaurant wasn't nearly full as it's winter so I'm not talking a pageant night. After we finished our meals, we didn't get a dessert menu or offer of coffees for about 45 minutes. I looked at it but just was no longer interested so we went for gelato down the street. A sure bet. I want to patronize restaurants that offer vegan meals, and I want them to succeed. This was just too disappointing."

  • "As usual, we enjoyed our meals immensely. I love the delicious vegan options; my boyfriend is never disappointed with the steak & fish options. And our server was great. However, this time, the hostess seemed unwelcoming in general (not specifically to us). And when she attempted friendliness with other patrons, it was forced & awkward. My boyfriend and I commented to each other how they need to find another hostess...then, just as we were preparing to leave, we saw her approach a table next to us. It was clear that she was awkwardly trying to hint for the patrons to leave so she could flip the table. My boyfriend and I were shocked. We left right behind the table that was rushed out...and they told us the hostess was the manager!"

  • "Upon first arriving, the manager/owner was at the hostess starion. My husband asked for a booth against the wall. We had an early reservation so the place wasn't crowded. She was quick and rude enough to say (coldly), I'm sorry SIR, but that table is reserved for 4, so it isn't available to YOU!" It was her tone, expression and indignance that immediately soured our dining experience. The food was adequately good and the service was slightly below avaerage. By the way, this place is no longer a health oriented restaurant, as the name implies."

  • "We visit the Laguna area a couple of times a year, and relish our return as much to the area as to Nirvana Grille. The food is always fresh, seasonal and much of it, locally sourced. It is as welcoming to couples on date night as to families. Mains are always excellent, but we've been very happy dining on a selection of salads and small plates, too. Our young son loves the vegetable plate as much as we do, and we aren't vegetarians, although we could happily convert were we to have this place in our neighborhood. It can be a bit loud on weekend evenings, but less so during the week. Staff is pleasant and eager to please. Highly recommended!"

The staff was very attentive and friendly to our party of 10 women who arrived at various times despite having reservations for 5:30pm. Everyone at the table was impressed and said they would come back again with their significant other. Definitely returning to this spot to enjoy the rooftop dining."

  • "Nirvanna Grille is very versatile depending on when you go and what you are lookig for in your dining experience. The service was "slow" but it seemed intentional in order to give you time to enjoy being there. The cuisine is gourmet and fun! I would definitely recommend it to anyone in town, however, for out of towners, I may suggest other restaurants before this for the full Laguna Beach experience. Overall- we really liked it! My group was my husband,my mother-in-law and me :)"

  • "We use OC Restaurant week to search out new restaurants that will become part of our regular dining list. Nirvana has won us over. Their service and ambiance was memorable, but it really was all about the food. The menu had many options and seemed to provide something for everyone in our party of four. The hummus and pita fries appetizer was a hit with everyone and big enough to share. All the seafood dishes were excellent, and the desserts were top notch. When we left the manager gave us a $25 coupon to return for their anniversary celebration. Their marketing strategies are set up with the customer in mind and have earned a return trip from my wife and I. Thank you for an enjoyable evening."

  • "Who ever the Chef is...Bravo! Great food. Parking is a a challenge. It was Valentine's Day, so we expected it to be crowded, and it didn't disappoint. The staff is not overly friendly or accommodating and the busboy seemed clueless or new. We were seated on the rooftop area - very little charm, no decor, just patio furnishings under canvas canopies (yawn), & it was chilly. Booked through OpenTable a month in advance of Valentine's Day (knowing how busy restaurants get) two days prior to V-Day the restaurant called to tell me they had a SET Menu that night and I'd have to put a credit card on the reservation to hold it...a bit too late to find a new venue - allergy to shell fish, which was prominent part of the menu that night. :-("

  • "They have a good selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes but they also serve some decent dishes with meat as well. I enjoyed my chicken breast with leaks. It was very flavorful. My only critique was that some of the dishes were a bit small. The shrimp prawn just had one large shrimp."

  • "What a pleasant surprise Nirvana Grille turned out to be. I went purely by prior reviews in trying to select a different restaurant to go to for this past Valentine's Day weekend and I selected a winner. The main dining area was crowded but the wonderful hostess offered us a table away from the main dining area and it was perfect. Much quieter and my husband and I could actually hear ourselves talk. Beautifully decorated and the staff was amazing. Very attentive without being obtrusive. The Filet Mignon was extremely tender and flavorful and the Black Sea Bass was perfectly prepared. I can't remember the name of the dessert we had but it resembled a slice of cheese cake, was vegan and tasted like a little slice of heaven."

  • "Our reservation was at 7; the hostess looked up from her glasses with a not too happy look; "we are running behind you can wait outside or at the bar. (No seats at the bar and since I have a disability that would be difficult). It was cold out. We should have waited outside the next 10 minutes we waited was horrible; we got to watch her boss all the servers and helpers around in Spanish. It doesn't make any difference what language you are speaking in to know when you are not happy. This set the mood in the restaurant for everyone to be unhappy. The food was terrible. pistachio cod tasted like mayo, overboard on the rosemary, flourless chocolate tart was burnt, $40 for corkage, REALLY? We are locals and won't be back again."

  • "Poor service, rude receptionist, anticipate a long wait for service on a special day like Valentine's day. Too many tables set for the evening which made the place loud and not intimate. They just wanted to get as many people in and out for that night. It was a price fixe menu and expensive. Thought I was paying for the food and the ambience but just ended paying for expensive food where I could have received the same quality elsewhere for half the price."

  • "Nirvana serves consistently good food, but is doing what more and more restaurants have been doing: serving food that is tepid, at best when it arrives at the table. The tomato soup was quite good, but barely warm. The same held true for the pistachio-crusted black cod. I was told that the plates are very hot when the food is served, but then why was the food not hot? Is it staying too ling in the kitchen before the server picks it up? Is the food not hot when plated? I don't know, but this is now a disturbing trend that must be fixed, both at Nirvana and elsewhere."

  • "We were a group with quite eclectic tastes including a French chef from DC. The brussel sprouts, both with and without bacon, won rave reviews. The loup de mer was tasty and large enough portion to split. The cod was cooked to perfection over a nice creamy bed of mashed potatoes. The salmon was probably the hit of the evening -- complemented beautifully with the sautéed chard. We come here a lot and Nirvana remains our go-to staple for out-of-town guests."

  • "So, the reviews of this restaurant were amazing....and WELL-deserved. Every part of the meal, from appetizers, to wine, to entrée, to dessert was delicious. The wine list suited and the vegetarian options were yummy. My companions had the sea bass and the sword fish. The sword fish was especially savory. The servers were attentive but not smothering. We did not have a problem with parking. My only complaint, at it is small, is that when the restaurant is full, it is LOUD, and sometimes hard to hear your company. Still, the food was amazing from start to finish. Don't miss this treasure!!!!"

  • "Went to dinner with friends before the theater and wanted a location close enough to walk. We were pleasantly surprised by the great happy hour options in the bar. However, beyond the reasonable prices and interesting selections, was great food and really great service. When asking about a very rich (but delicious sounding dish) the server informed us we could have items prepared vegan. Well.... we did and it was so delicious, I can't imagine it any better even with the addition of all the cream and cheese. We WILL be back.."

  • "I love this place and dine here regularly. The menu changes seasonally and everything is organic, wild caught, farm fresh. Chef Lindsay creates fabulous flavors even if she does love to use a buerre blanc sauce with a lot of dishes. I often get the sauce on the side. Love the Loup de Mer with lentils, amazing kale salad, and the scottish salmon is also a favorite. Lots of vegetarian options and great grass fed beef too! Can't go wrong with this awesome restaurant!"
