Diner Reviews
  • "We eat at 915 every time we are in Key West (usually twice a year) and have never been disappointed. We always enjoy great food and fine service. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "A great experience and very attentive service. Ambiance was welcoming and gave us a perfect view to watch the back and forth goings of Duval Street. The whole grouper signature dish was done to perfection and the scallops prepared with equal skill. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a special evening and a special meal. We will definitely be going back on our return trip to Key West."

  • "My wife and I ate there on Friday night. The food was very disappointing. We heard so many great things but something must have changed. For us, it is all about the food. My wife started with the ceviche which appeared to have been cooked; it was drab in comparison to Peruvian restaurants in and around Miami. She also had the duck which was dry and tasteless. I had the grouper which also lacked taste.......which tends to happen when food has been frozen for too long. We looked around at the tables around us; and no one appeared to be having a good time......... I am not sure what happened to this restaurant; but we won't be going back."

  • "We have dined here before and Stuart and his team continue exceed expectations. Food is delicious and Duval Street ambiance is wonderful. What sets this restaurant apart is consistent, outstanding service, warmth and excellent food."

  • "The mommas style fish soup is simply awesome. Loaded with various shellfish and local fish complimented by a creamy coconut sauce. Get some fries for dunking...you won't be disappointed."

  • "Wow...definately one of my favorite places to dine in Key West! Food was awesome and drinks were strong. You can't go wrong here."

  • "I love this place and as concierge I would recommended to everybody! I heard that service goes down over there but my previous experience were always very good. Not the last one - server with British accent (don't take me wrong I also grew up in Europe) was rut, didn't pay any attention to our needs and at the end he added a gratuity to our bill for two. I'm very good tipper, so...his bad. I just want to let owners know - make sure that your workers are attentive, polite and nice EVERY DAY, because they work in HOSPITALITY!"

  • "Cold, impersonal staff, in general, but waiter was Ok. Food average and one entree had to be sent back as virtually in edible . Replacement came after partner had finished dinner. To wait would have rendered his meal in edible. Hostess was rude, excluding herself as "having a bad day." Seated next to large party of five loud women talking over one another. All in all, it was an expensive,, mediocre meal."

  • "Although the food came more quickly than we liked, everythnig else about the restaurant was spot on. Great job!"

  • "Really pleasantly surprised by the care and quality of cooking at Nine One Five in the middle of Key West's busiest strip. Lovely old clapboard house set back from noisy Duval. Incredible seared swordfish placed on an onion sous-vide with peas, fava beans, baby carrots and baby parsnips. Eye-popping chocolate torte. The chef even made his own African red tea blend. This is serious cooking and service in an area where tourists don't usually demand such quality."

  • "I was looking for a restaurant, something different, and came across this one one a list of top restaurants in Key West. It was as advertised. Great friendly service, excellent food with lots of options and a good variety in wine! (Always important -the wine) A very enjoyable experience."

  • "had wild scottish salmon with " risotto." overall, it was tasteless with boil-in--a-bag quality rice. we were prepared for disappointment after sampling the appetizer of fried artichokes. we returned them because they were dry, hard and TASTELESS. How this restaurant appears on a list of top restaurants is a mystery"

  • "Had a really enjoyable meal on the front porch. Loved the bacon wrapped dates!! Great wine list especially the dessert wine list! It is on the 900 block of Duval, so you don't get all the riffraff on a busy evening. Can't wait to come back on our next trip to Key West!!"

  • "It's Key West aka paradise! warm breeze! beautiful garden! view of the active street scene! and most importantly wonderful food. What's not to like? Lovely signature cocktails. I had the local grouper which was deliciously prepared with a tomatoey sauce with white beans and kale. My husband had the filet with a pepper cream sauce which was outstanding. The fried calamari was very tender and crisp served with a red and white dipper. Overall, one of my favorite restaurants in a Key West."

  • "The food was amazing - everything was superb. the service was top notch!! this is definitely a place we will always visit when in Key West!!"

  • "We had the "Soul Soup," a terrific curry soup/stew with fish, mussels, shrimp and rice. Quantity was good and the taste was completely unique and delightful. Service was just right, the wine list was excellent, and the outside tables gave good views of the action on Duval Street. The background music put us off for much of the meal We didn't think that the thumping rhythms of Euro disco or rap were conducive to fine dining. The music eventually went to something less vigorous. We would definitely return for another meal but we'd probably say something if the music looked like a repeat."

  • "We ate inside since it was a chilly evening and it was very quite and comfortable. Our waitress's service was flawless. We both had a beef filet and they were perfectly prepared (med-rare) and had great flavor. Literally some of the best food we've ever eaten."

  • "915 is an amazing little gem a little further up from all the noise on Duval. The pork tacos were amazing and the grouper with kale was killer!!!!"

  • "Thai chili snapper is simple (a fish, a side of chili sauce, and a bowl of rice) but it is really excellent (assuming you don't mind a whole fish). The fennel salad was also crisp, fresh, and light. The grouper with cassoulet missed the mark a bit. The cassoulet was too heavy and overwhelmed a nice piece of fish. Open air seating is very pleasant and we were seated exactly per reservation time despite the restaurant being full."

  • "We were asked to order quickly because they were busy before we even got a chance to sit on our table!"
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "We did not have a great dining experience. From seemingly forced hospitality (possibly due to weather) to miscommunications with ordering (although we felt the server to be polite, informative, and attentive) to my woman having to spit out a piece of her meal into her napkin (we believe it was a leek), it was not a great dinner. We will not be back."

  • "My husband and I went to Nine One Five on our only night out in Key West and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The drinks at the bar before dinner were terrific, and the wait staff consistently friendly and helpful. There was a laid-back atmosphere to the whole place; despite the fact that the restaurant was really busy, we never felt rushed. I can highly recommend the fried calamari as an appetizer- so fresh! The desserts were rather ho-hum, but the cassoulet grouper was very fine."

  • "We arrived, with a reservation, on a rainy night and were put out on the covered verandah with wet tables and cheap plastic moulded deck chairs. The drinks and water were served with no coasters adding to the drippy ambience. The food was good but not exceptional. When we called for the reservation, we were referred to the online service so there was no chance to learn that we would be outside and decide whether to accept that or not. I just felt the restaurant did not provide the higher end dining experience we thought we would get when we saw the ratings and awards displayed out front as we passed by earlier."

  • "Guests from New York wanted to take us to our favorite restaurant we picked Nine One Five. As usual it was a fabulous dining experience. Started with drinks at Point Five and continued to a fabulous dinner at 915. From appetizers to dessert everything was made to perfection! Service was great as was the ambience. Our guests travel the world are huge foodies were very impressed and will be returning."

  • "After all of the rave reviews, we were extremely disappointed with 915. We made it clear it was for a special occasion that evening. When we arrived, Audrey showed us our table and told us the next party had a 9pm reservation. I was appalled. Completely unprofessional and started the night off poorly. And, it was a bad table. We asked to move, which they granted, but were told again there was a reservation for 9pm. Then, the Aussie waiter decided he was having an off evening and really did not feel like providing good service. He acted rushed and inconvenienced that we were there. We are fairly local and with as many choices as there are in Key West, would never return to go there. Sorry we wasted that dining experience at 915.."

  • "Probably the best calamari we've ever had. Unfortunately, 3 of the 4 entrées arrived cold. Very disappointing. Bread pudding was excellent."

  • "Had very nice dinner at Nine one Five on Sunday, March 2nd. The Soul Mamma Soup was out of this world. We were disappointed that they were out of their other specialty the yellowtail fish. The ambiance is terrific for a romantic and sitting outside on a wonderful cool evening on Duval Street is priceless."

  • "The menu was interesting and we had a nice waitress who was attentive and helpful. The noise lever from the street was significant, Harley's, passing traffic, general cacophony of Duval Street The food was disappointing. Some excellent favors, but the scallops were poor, the brocolini way too much garlic, and the fried fish was interesting but again, not to die for I could not recommend this to a friend"

  • "We come back to this place every time we're in Key West. Great food and run by very friendly and accomodating people. Having been 5 times, they've never failed to make a memorable evening."

  • "Although we arrived before our reservation time they couldn't seat us inside because there was a private party using all the tables. This wouldn't have been an issue if we had known in advance since we would have dressed appropriately. The Server's mind was completely absent. Pre-dinner Martini, which is served with small onions was water down and the small onion we in editable. Beet salad which was quite good; We both had steaks with a pepper sauce, I asked to hold the sauce and the Serve suggested on the side. Both arrived covered in sauce. The Server returned them, left the fries, and we waited twenty minutes for new ones (remember the Private Party). The fries, which we ate waiting for the steaks, were good."

  • "Great overall experience! Starter (crab cake & Bibb salad) were well done. We enjoyed the filet mignon and scallops for entrees - the scallops were good and the filet was very good. And we shared the chocolate mousse which was also very good! The special cocktails weren't out if this world, but good. Would highly recommend. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that was attentive yet spaced out the meal very nicely and gave us space."

  • "I've been to Nine One Five a few times with both small and larger groups and the service is always excellent. The food is very tasty this time we had the tuna dome and pork quesadillas for appetizers. Liked the pork a little better because the tuna had diced up apples which made it strange texturally. The fish entree was excellent. This restaurant is on our top five for Key west."

  • "The beet salad was dry and featured very few beets. The entre was small and over-priced. The dessert was delicious."
