  • "Had been there I believe twice before the last time probably two yrs ago. Took close friends one of whom we celebrated not only her birthday but being special friends. Everything we had from two appetizers (one beets, the other bratwurst) four different entrees were excellent, nicely presented etc. We had deserts as well and they also were excellent. Service was great, friendly and knowledgeable waiter. An exceptional restaurant."

  • "I've run out of superlatives to describe Naschmarkt and its service, ambiance, food, drink. This visit the heirloom tomatoes and halibut have returned! The only way to properly describe this dish: "Inspired." Heirloom tomatoes in a defies-all-logic rich vegetable broth, with a perfectly cooked portion of halibut. I won't ruin one of the surprises for you, but the contrasts in the dish are amazing and, well, inspired! Go get it! From the gracious welcome to the fantastic service and the inspired food, you won't be disappointed."

  • "This was my first time at Naschmarkt. We were treated exceptionally well, and the quality of the food was superb. The cold cucumber soup was awesome, and the others who had the butter lettuce salad with goat cheese were equally impressed. The preparation and presentation of the main courses were picture-perfect, and the flavors outstanding. We finished up with bread pudding...yum! Matthias and Humberto serve up the perfect combination of great food and great service in a fun atmosphere!"

  • "This is our second visit and we were just as pleased as the first time. My companion had the Jaeger Schnitzel and I had the pork belly. Both were amazing! The wine selection is not huge but they have some excellent wines and we have been most pleased with our wine selections as well. We had a leisurely dinner and were able to visit with our friends even though it's a bit noisy. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely go again and highly recommend it."

  • "Alan, food, Chris were all outstanding. Second time here was even better than the first."

  • "First, service was amazing, almost telepathic. The food just didn't do it for me. It tasted ok, but it was a tiny portion and way overpriced. The food was almost a la carte. If you want good food a la carte, go to Naglee Park. If you want good eastern European food, go to Teskes in SJ, or Gourmet Haus in Redwood City. The food and decor at this place is too Americanized, but I guess that's what people like."

  • "I dined at the chic Naschmarkt Restaurant for my birthday and it simply was one of the best birthday dining experiences I've ever had! From the drinks (I had the most amazing beer that was selected by my waiter), the wonderful food (I had the pork belly) and dessert...OMG I had Salzburger Nockerl 9 it was SO good though they then brought out a crepe filled with apricots & whipped cream for my birthday because the waiter Teddy (who was superb all night!) remembered me mentioning that I love apricots! Naschmarkt Restaurant is a very special restaurant, though I will not wait for another special occassion to eat there, I want to go back again soon and often!"

  • "We eat here pretty regularly and have never had anything but a great experience. The food has always been wonderful, the service is typically great. They have always accommodated any request we've made including a special request to alter how a dish was prepared. The wine list is small, but the wines are very good. The cocktails are also wonderful. It is getting tougher now however to get reservations as the word must be getting out on them."

  • "Been to Naschmarkt many times and it always amazes me. We have to start with the sausage appetizer, also had some corn soup to start and their soups are always unbeatable. Chose the classic wiener schnitzel this time and good as ever! Service is always impeccable. We love this place!"

  • "A friend and I decided to try the Naschmarkt, as we are both fond of Austrian or German food. While the ambiance and service were very nice, the food was forgettable and disappointing. We had ordered the pork belly and the Wienerschnitzel. While the portion of the Wienerschnitzel was quite generous, the portion for the pork belly was very small. The taste of either dish was quite bland. We ordered the Apple Strudel for dessert, but neither one of us liked the taste. It was over-cooked, the apples mushy and brown. Not up to the standards we are used to. All in all, the dining experience at Naschmarkt was not what we expected for the prices they charge. We would not go back, or recommend this restaurant to friends."

  • "As always, best service, food, staff, wine. This is our favorite go-to spot for Sunday dinner, special occasion, entertaining visiting guests, etc. Fresh menu, excellent "new Austrian" meets California menu. Highly recommended."

  • "Everything we ate was delicious - so tender and perfect. Decent wine and beer lists with many German/Austrian options so do research ahead or just ask the waiter. Menu isn't huge and the appetizers and salads/soups didn't appeal to our group but main courses all got 4 stars."

  • "Had a great experience for our anniversary. First time we've had Austrian food and it was fabulous. Desserts were also super good especially the soufflé. Highly recommend."

  • "Had very good food and the wine list was full of variety. Seafood was cooked properly - not too much not too little."

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary, we have lived in Campbell nearly 4 years and have wanted to try Naschmarkt since they opened! We were not disappointed! Our waiter was very knowledgable and steered us in the right direction on what to order, he also brought in someone to help us pick out wine from their extensive wine list. The food was awesome, the ambiance was perfect for a date night/ anniversary celebration...we will definitely be going back!"

  • "Delicious Austrian/German cuisine, excellent hose wine, just as good as in Germany"

  • "Food is fresh and innovative take on German/Austrian food. Service excellent. Noise level rises as place fills up, we prefer early dining to avoid noise level."

  • "I'm a pretty stern critic and Naschmarkt satisfied me nearly completely. The food (with the exception of a surprisingly bland goulash) was spectacular. We had a couple of soups, a couple of salads all of which were wonderful. The wine list is excellent. There is a reasonable set of "normal" wines, but they have a wonderful selection of Austrian wines, both red and white. It's very unusual to find a restaurant with 10 different Gruener Veltliners and a number of Zweigelts and Blaufrankisch wines. The service was attentive and personable. The only other knock, besides the goulash was that for a restaurant at this price range I would expect a little higher ambience. The restaurant finishing is more like an Opa! than a high end restaurant."

  • "This was my second time to Naschmarkt and it was just as good as the first, if not better! My friend and I split the beet salad which was VERY good and not at all over dressed which is one of the reasons I typically stay away from salads. We had the halibut and ordered a side of seasonal veggies and sauerkraut. All were AMAZING and very "clean", meaning not a ton of oil or sauces were used to make the food taste good. I am a huge fan of tasting the food I order versus the condiments, and the veggies and fish were amazing! The cabbage that came with the Halibut was delicious. I asked the server to recommend an Austrian wine and what he brought was top notch. I love that this restaurant serves Austrian wine. I will definitely be back!"

  • "Nashmarkt is great fine dining at a reasonable price. Memorable dishes include the hot and cold soups and the delicious entrees of Hungarian Goulash and Wiener Schnitzel. Frankly, it was the best wiener schnitzel (breaded veal cutlet) I have had. And the potato salads were delicious. Every dish we had here was wonderful and the portions were pretty good, too. We loved the sausage appetizer with mustard and cabbage. Sure, it's not the healthiest of dishes, but it's the tastiest. Everything here is really done well. And this is a neighborhood restaurant that just makes you want to come back for more. No wonder it's hard to get a reservation here. The food is that good! Oh, and the apple strudel with ice cream is great, too. "

  • "Real food, not one of those places where the menu describes items you never thought of as food (At one expensive South Bay restaurant that will remain un-named, I was enthusiastically offered tobacco infused chocolate!) Naschmarkt has filling, beautifully presented, real food with a middle European flair - think Hungarian goulash, German spaetzle, Austrian desserts. Be sure to leave room for dessert! Apple strudel was excellent, and apricot jam filled crepes were superb. If you're in the South Bay, I highly recommend you try Naschmarkt. "

  • "We really loved Naschmarket because it was refreshingly different from all the rest - from the cocktails, to the menu, to the wine list. The proprieters have put alot of thought into every aspect of their establishment, and it payed off. The owner and staff made us feel welcome, and helped with the menu and wine choices. Everyone in our party had a delicious dinner and a great time out. We'll go back for sure! "

  • "Best restaurant in San Jose. Always excellent service, food, drinks, wine list, food, service, and food! Did we mention that the food is always fantastic. This visit the short rib (off menu special) and the old favorite and always classic schnitzel were excellent. Highly recommended!"

  • "It's genuine Austrian. The chef is from Austria, and the items on the menu are typical for Austria. The Wiener Schnitzel (thin, breaded schnitzel from veal) is my personal favourite."

  • "We've been to this restaurant a number of times, always taking someone new with us…and it has never disappointed. No matter what we try, from appetizer, to soup or salad, to main, to the dessert, it is all delicious and we either don't leave any on the plate or take it home to enjoy later. We've seen the menu change slightly to keep in step with what's in season even though you can still get your favorites with a different twist to them. Naschmarkt is one of our 'go to' restaurants if we want to impress or just to enjoy a meal."
