My choice for a Friday night out downtown!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI decided to make a NapoleseI decided to make a Napolese reservation when an out-of-town guest came to Indianapolis and we needed to have a larger group dinner with various food preferences. I think my favorite part- above the atmosphere and the food and the lovely wait staff, was that no one was disappointed. From a vegetarian, to a meat lover, to a very very picky eater, there was something on the menu for everyone, with generous portions and delicious flavors.
We began with a bottle of wine, followed by goat cheese and tomato spread appetizer, Caesar salad and Buffalo Margherita pizza.

Simple food with quality ingredients goes a long way and Napolese sure knows how to do it right! Ken our server was outstanding! Very knowledgeable, energetic and very attentive. I hate when restaurants make you feel like they are doing you a favor to allow you to eat there-not here. We have been several times to their location on 49th but this place is much better. The place has a great feel. I love that we can make reservations. The goat cheese app is delicious as well the pizzas. If you go, don't miss trying the gelatos. I wish we could buy a sampler of 3 gelatos. I would like a few bites of different ones. The beet bellini and sidecar are awesome, and the Eliot's Pie and the #57 are our favorites. The salads are so good it's hard to decide which one to order; the brussel sprout and dried cherries, the duck confit and potato, and the chopped, are all outstanding, and a nightly special is always worth considering too. There's a well-chosen wine list that complements the food perfectly. Great gelato, especially the pistachio, finishes the meal, along with a shot of espresso. I was eager to visit the newly open downtown location, especially since it was less than a 10 min walk from my office. The atmosphere is bright, open, and classy. Large windows and light-colored, textured walls feel urban and modern, while wooden chairs and dark tables nod at the darker, warmer mid-town location. The menu is full of creative and fresh options. There are plenty of salads and pizzas that will appease the simplest eater while enticing the most discerning foodies. Portions are generous.
