Diner Reviews
  • "We have been to your restaurant on several occasions and we are always very pleased with the food and service. We take advantage of the early bird menu, we like the portions of these meals. "

  • "There was a nice variety of food options and I had deliciously prepared Sea Bass. My entire family was very pleased with this gem I found in a small strip mall. The a/c was on too high so the staff lowered it just for us:)."

  • "We have eaten at Mystic Fish with couples during regular hours. We have enjoyed early bird specials also. Additionally we have celebrated table top cocktails and appetizers while celebrating birthdays. It all is good. The food is excellent and the service (notably Greg and Peter) is just great. I have told many of my friends about it and your fans have multiplied after dining at your place. Our most recent reservation was April 10th. Again at my suggestion with new patrons, we will be a party of eight at the table tops via reservation by Millie Tibma for the 25th of April at 4:45. Needless to say, I am looking forward to it. Jean Cook"

  • "In an old but well maintained stripmall made of red brick. I don't know what we expected, but this little restaurant is a gem. Lucious & creative seafood dishes. The jumbo lump crab martini was wonderful and the lumps were as described - truly jumbo. Service was great, all about timing. We will be back."

  • "Love that this restaurant offers small plates almost tapas style. It means a party of four can try an interesting selection of foods without being too full for an entree. The potstickers and short ribs are especially good. Whilst the wine list is not long the choices are well picked, there was a lovely fruity Sangria on offer too as a cocktail. Desserts were small ,delicious and not over priced . Our waiter Peter was excellent meeting all our needs cheerfully. One of the better restaurants not too far from Trinity."

  • "I have been living in Clearwater since 1994 and have seen the outside door of the Mystic Fish many times. Finally, decided to make a reservation because a friend lived close and I didn't want to drive very far. This was very close. Because it was in a shopping strip center I never thought it would be much. Wow was I wrong... the food was out of this world, the ambience was wonderful and the service great. From the outside I thought it would be 4-5 tables but once inside very spacious with art deco design (sea like). They should put pictures of the inside on their website; they would increase business. Was so good we went 2 nights in a row. Dr. Reed"

  • "Service was not great. Our dinners came out while we were eating our salad & soup. Food was not hot, but the taste was excellent. Ambiance was good."

  • "This was our first visit. We just moved to the area and heard great experiences from others. We decided late to go on a Saturday night. Everything was fantastic. Pete, our server was very personable, attentive, and knowledgeable. Grilled Octopus, Grouper and Sea Bass were outstanding. We will be back - and would request Pete again as well."

  • "Tehre were 3 of us dining; all ordered the lobster bisque which is made as it should be with just the right amount of ingredients. The black grouper, Boullabaisse and especially their signature Chilean Sea Bass were all excellent. Michelle our server was perfect. Great dinner out!"

  • "Great food at prices that beat chain restaurants for similar types of food. The restaurant was packed and was a little noisy. We have always been very pleased with our meals there."

  • "This is a great restaurant - something you would expect in Boston or New York - not in Palm Harbor Florida! We had the pot stickers (with seaweed salad and a lively teriyaki sauce) and the grilled shrimp (spice rub and roasted onion aioli) .. Both beyond delicious. Dinner was the tenderloin with maine lobster tail and the bronzed chilean sea bass which was recommended by our server - these did not disappoint. Special occasion that it was, we had to try the dessert - flourless chocolate cake (who missed the flour????? Not me!) which was a chocolately dripping oozy concoction with the french vanilla ice cream. Presentation, quality and flavor! Lucky for me I'll be back in this area in October and will visit Mystic Fish again!"

  • "I had read about Mystic Fish for some time now. Living in Tampa it is a distance to drive but I had family and friends down from Ohio staying at Innisbrook and this was finally an opportunity to try it. We had a party of 7 and EVERYBODY loved it. We all tried a different dish and nobody was disappointed. Our server, Joseph, was very attentive and funny. He was informed on the menu and offered suggestions. When we left, my family and friends thanked me for making such a great choice of a restaurant. My husband and I will definitely make the drive from Tampa to come again!"

  • "Whoa this place packs 'em in! The unassuming facade (very cool door handles not withstanding) in a strip mall is so much more that one would guess from the parking lot! Our table was ready on time, the restaurant was full with a lively, packed bar and people waiting to be seated. But, despite the crowds and ambient noise level, we were still able to carry on a conversation at the table. Food was superb! Service fast and attentive. Impressive desserts. Spotless restrooms. This will be a go-to when in the area!"

  • "Not that I am a pessimist, but I can usually find something about a restaurant that could be improved. Is curb appeal a legitimate criticism? If so, that's all I've got. My wife's strawberry sangria was very refreshing as was my cucumber margarita. My wife had the snapper and I had the sea bass. Neither could be prepared better. The Cesar salad was excellent. To finish, we shared the Key Lime Panna cotta. I almost ordered another one just for myself. Our waiter, Michael, was very friendly and offered perfect recommendations all night. We will be back...with friends."

  • "We love Mystic Fish! It was our dad's (John Roche) favorite place to eat and introduced us to this terrific restaurant. The steaks are wonderful and the hogfish is great."

  • "I was there on vacation and a friend at church told me about this restaurant. I must say he was correct in his choice. The wine was good, friendly wait staff, appetizers were excellent, and main course meal was fantastic and presentation was done nicely. If you are a fan on sea food I would totally recommend this place."

  • "We split the lobster bisque, which wasn't overly creamy (hooray!) with just the right amount of sherry, and nice pieces of lobster. The goat cheese spring roll (it's one long tube of crispy wonton) was the perfect balance of sweet (thanks to the fig jam) & savory. This was really my favorite item of the evening. As for our meals, I ordered the Chilean sea bass, which was cooked perfectly. There was a little too much of a mayonnaise based sauce on top, so I just scraped it off. Cheese or mayo type sauces on fish make me think the fish is older than it should be, and the fish is being masked. My friend ordered the Bouillabaisse and loved it. The sauce in the dish was worth sopping up with the dinner rolls...shamelessly!"

  • "First visit. The taste was fair. . the portions small and the flavor was fair. we were not impressed and would probably not return. We eat out often and were very sorry our experience wasn't better. We have been looking for an excellent neighborhood restaurant. your soup was flavorful. The drive to Belairs E & M steakhouse is a long distance. But well worth the drive . There food is excellent in quality, quantity and taste."

  • "This was my first experience at Mystic Fish as my wife and I recently moved to the area. Friends and neighbors raved about it though. We thought that it would be a perfect spot to take some out of town guests and we were right. As we walked in we saw Hogfish on the menu, I had never heard of it before. Our waitperson told us that this was the special that evening and that it was particularly good. She was right! The fish was great as was the sauce that came with it. A good time was had by all."

  • "This northern outpost of the triumvirate of Guppies & E&E Stakeout should be as packed on a Thursday as its brother restaurants. The food was perfectly prepared & interesting and, although to my personal taste too many items featured "heat", the loaded with seafood bouillabaisse was outstanding & the pankoed hogfish perfectly cooked & accompanied by an unusual variation on beurre blanc. Service was friendly & attentive. Next time we'll try the small plate menu. Altogether, worth the drive from mid-county."

  • "I met a first date for dinner on a thurs. Night. The restaurant was perfect for a first date. Light level was great, noise level was perfect and of course the food and service was tip notch. Ryan our server was great in giving us just the right amount of attention. Will recommend to everybody."

  • "The three of us were seated immediately with our 5:00 reservations. Our server was an absolute gem. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We had duck breast, seared yellow fin tuna, and grouper for supper. Every one of our meals was delicious. Their dessert menu offers some very nice selections which we enjoyed along with a cappacino, espresso, and regular coffee. We would definitely dine here again and highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Food wasn't up to its usual standard on our last trip, but that was an exception to our other experiences. The service however was far from what we have come to expect. It isn't that the waitress didn't appear to be trying, I just don't think she has been a waitress very long. We'll try Mystic Fish again and hope we don't have a repeat experience."

  • "The service was impeccable, our Waiter Tom made our anniversary dinner very special. The food was delicious and wine selection perfect I would highly recommend the Mystic Fish for a special night out. You won't go wrong, from the moment we walk through the door the entire experience was perfect!!"

  • "Mystic Fish is one of our favorite restaurants to visit for date night. We always have an amazing meal and outstanding service. An added bonus is that the restaurant is located in Palm Harbor, and we do not have to travel to Tampa for a special night. We always get one of the fish specials, so I cannot comment on their beef dinners, but have no doubt they are excellent, too."

  • "Mystic Fish is one of our favorite restaurants in the Tampa area. We had a group of 5 on a Friday night. It was crowded and noisy, but not in a bad way. Our table was laughing and having fun and we didn't have to worry about disturbing others because everyone was having a nice time. The Small Plates are great and we ordered 3 of them to share. I would have to say the calamari fries were the best appetizer I've ever had anywhere. They were nothing like we expected and the light, crispy taste was scrumptious. We also had the goat cheese spring rolls and sea scallops. Both were excellent. As always, this restaurant did not disappoint in food, service, atmosphere and prices."

  • "I like the relaxed atmosphere at Mystic Fish in Palm Harbor, the friendliness of the employees and managers. Makes me feel special and at home. I recommend to all my friends who most of them join me. The food is prepared pleasantly and very appetizing. I always take my guests there. I like the early bird menu as most of my friends like to eat early."
