They have a foie gras parfait that is awesome! Rick, smooth, incredible. Drinks good, service outstanding. I had french onion soup that came out looking like a souffle top. Excellent cheeses, flavor. Escargot excellent, sauce well flavired, nit overpowering. Friend had the salmon which she lived. Highly recommend.

Still dreaming about Crabmeat Raviolis! You must go and see for yourself, everything on the menu is perfectly prepared and not overly done or seasoned. I especially like how the service is top notch without any feeling of stuffiness. The staff is attentive but you're not aware of them. Our waiter was a lot of fun and recommended an amazing wine without it breaking the bank. Favorite restaurant in Boston, we go every year for our Anniversary.

This is a great place. The food and service were outstanding. If you like fine dining and being treated like a celeb, you'll enjoy it. ( I understand celebs frequent Mistral). I must warn you it is pricey. Dinner for 2 with 3 drinks ordered with apps and entrees came to $195.00. I did have the Dover Sole that was divine, however it was a Market price item and I didn't not ask our server the cost. I was charged a whopping $60 for it! My fault. Most entrees are between $30 and $45. A great place for a special night out.

This was our first visit to Mistral to celebrate our (pregnant) daughter's 30th birthday. Everything was perfect - especially the service. From the start, the waiter paid special attention to the birthday girl - recommended a special non-alcoholic drink. Service overall was superb. The food was fabulous - everyone loved what they ordered and we all enjoyed tasting each other's choices. Very pretty room but noisy. Would definitely go back.

Service at the bar was dreadully slow. Its obvious that Mistral caters to the frequent diner. The tables are so close together that I could recite the conversation of the adjacent patrons next to us. There are too many other great restaurants in Boston to return to Mistral for another try. When the evening begins in such a sour note at the bar with the service and continues at the tables its very difficult to overcome such negativity. Time to go elsewhere!!!

I heard so much about this restaurant and heard it was upscale. Halfway through dining, a couple in their early 20's were seated next to us in cutoff shorts and tee-shirts!. I'm sorry but if I am paying $$$$ for a restaurant you could have at least enforce a dress code. The two young people sat next to us answering their cell phones and dropping the "f" bomb half way through our meal. This restaurant is clearly overrated and so disappointing. Service is fast and not welcoming. Restaurant is loud and seating is horrible. Needless to say, I would not return.

The restaurant was pretty slow for a Friday night, but we had heard nothing but great things about it. The food was absolutely delicious - I had the sole. The decor is very nice and our waiter was very attentive. We got there early for our reservation, but were able to get a table right away. It certainly is not an in-expensive place to dine - but we were there for a special occasion so it was ok. I would definitely go back.

My wife and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary and we could not have picked a better restaurant for the occasion. Mistral is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston but we had not been there in 4 years. It probably exceeded our expectations which were pretty high to start. The food was phenomenal and our waiter was top notch. I would highly recommend going to Mistral if you want to celebrate a special occasion or just want a very nice night out!

Mistral does an amazing brunch, without a doubt. But what always makes this place the best is the service. There really is no other place that holds a candle to it. Not even close. Also, we had a special request and we did not even need to remind the restaurant, they were on top of it. Outstanding from beginning to end.

Happened to go during restaurant week at end of Aug (unintentionally). So, while the prices if you went off prix fixe menu were "good value," it created an inverse outcome in several areas: 1) noise level. It was busy (dinner reservation was at 6:30, so still below peak time), and got loud very quickly 2) service: due to busy, service was spotty. I also think the waiter was "over it" and was just gutting it out until the week was over and he could get back to his more typical $400 plus tabs and $100 tips. 3) The food wasn't terribly imaginative. Again, ordered off of prix fixe, so could have gotten more imaginative a la carte, but worried it would take longer to serve if we did that Will steer clear during restaurant wk in future.

Of the 6 items I tried on the menu, 3 were very good (carpaccio, game hen, pana cotta) and worthy of Mistral's reputation for delicious unique dishes with a solid foundation in traditional techniques. The other 50% I've had better prepared at any of 100 small restaurants (outside Boston). It is worth restaurant week prices, but I don't think I'll go back at full price.

Mistral never disappoints - food is always top notch, decor and scenery is beautiful. Our waiter was great, was always there when we needed him. Love this place! We were there for restaurant week, and no matter what anyone says, I think Mistral always brings it, and doesn't skimp just cause it's RW. We got the Sirloin and the Salmon which was just cooked to perfect, I don't think they would need to wash our dishes, they were wiped clean! Crab, corn avocado chilled soup was perfectly seasoned and great balance of flavors, Panna Cotta was perfection as well, light and creamy with the perfect tartness of fruit.

I was very excited to dine at Mistral after hearing rave reviews from my boyfriend. I had high hopes for the food but the food just didn't meet them. Not to say the food was bad; I just expected more because of how much I was paying. My meal consisted of: Chilled Corn Soup, Grilled Salmon, and Nectarine Cobbler. I definitely recommend the nectarine cobbler! The salmon wasn't too exciting - it was perfectly cooked though. My boyfriend's meal consisted of: Chilled Corn Soup, Pan Roasted Sirloin, and Profiteroles. The Sirloin was very large. He also got coffee which was $5. Service was amazing. 5 out of 5. Total Bill: Around $100 with tip. Would I come again? Maybe.

My friends and I went to Mistral for restaurant week and it was a great choice. It was $38 for a 3 course meal. The portions were very generous. My friend got the sirloin and it was the biggest piece of steak I have seen a restaurant serve for restaurant week. I got the salmon, which was also a good portion. Food was very good and I highly recommend Mistral for restaurant week due to the generous portion sizes and high quality of food.

I went here with a friend during Dine Out Boston. We'd just gone to Sorellina the night before and expected the same standard at Mistral. The food was actually much more enjoyable however, the service was subpar. I was rather disappointed by the inattentiveness of our server. He checked in on us at most 3 times and refilled our water glasses once. I'd recommend the food here but am hoping the service was a result of a busy night. Otherwise, I really did enjoy Mistral!

Tried the restaurant week menu with my girlfriend. Ordered a corn soup for appetizer, which was good but had to wait about 5 minutes until I finally asked a passing waiter for my waiter to get a spoon. The restaurant was incredibly hot and there was also no air conditioning, and we were sweating throughout the meal. We ordered an appetizer but that never arrived, and when the meal was delivered we mentioned it to the waiter, who informed us that it would be taken off the bill (I should hope so!). Our drinks were removed from the table while they were nearly full and we were still enjoying the items we paid for. We had a reservation and had only been there for just over one hour. The best item we had was the muffin that served as the complimentary bread, and the drinks we great too and arrived as requested. Overall, we were very dissapointed in the service and will not be dining there again.
