  • "Food was overpriced, poorly executed and made from low quality ingredients. Just awful. Two of us went for a special occasion and would've done better to eat at a convenience store and domate the rest of the $250 spent to charity. Artificial smoke flavoring, congealed sauces and over looked seafood were a few lowlights. 'Nuff said!"

  • "My wife and I both enjoyed an 8oz fillet this past weekend. Both were ordered medium but came out a very red medium rare. Neither of us cared but others may. We split a side of baked potato, mac n cheese, and fries, all were excellent and way more than we could eat. We also ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail as an appetizer which was very, very good. It only comes with 4 shrimp but I got 7 bites out of 2, they were that big. The atmosphere was a little louder than I would prefer for a nice dinner, but I think that may have been due to the cardinals beating the cubs a couple hours earlier. Overall I think I would prefer the Ruth's Chris steakhouse around the corner by a very, very thin margin, but would not hesitate to come back to Shannon's."

Our knowledgable, funny, and personable waiter, Scott brought us out complimentary champagne to start and they made sure we had a quiet table with a fabulous view. The wine list was amazing. The food was out of this world. My husband and I travel and dine out frequently and I can honestly say this is one of the best meals and overall dining experiences we have ever had."

  • "8 of us went to Mike Shannon's before a Cardinals game ... surprisingly it was not that crowded two hours before the game, although the outside patio was hopping. The food was excellent - I had the sea bass and it was prepared exceptionally well. I also had 3 kids with me; and while they did have kids portions for the burgers, for the adult burgers $20 was way overpriced. The burgers were really great, but I felt like the whole dinner was overpriced."

  • "We made our reservations early, 5:30pm on a Friday as we had our 15 month old daughter with. The cajun shrimp appetizer was amazing, so good that I chose it as my added topping on my steak. I always order the filet but took the waiter's recommendation and had the ribeye and it was absolutely incredible! My father and sister had the sea bass and it came with two dipping sauces, both were perfect with the fish. My mom had the pork and it was a much thicker cut than expected. She said it tasted good but would have preferred it to be cut in half and served as two separate pieces. We all ordered cocktails and they were prepared exceptionally well. Overall, it was a great experience!"

  • "If the food was not enough to cause you be overly impressed, the service would send you to the next planet! Never were the water glasses less than 2/3 full. The drinks were perfect. We asked for help with a wine choice and were past expectations. The food and the presentation was textbook. Can not recall ever having a better steak. The hotel we stayed at had a steak house on property but the staff at check-in recommended we come here. We were NOT disappointed. We would NEVER visit St. Louis again without eating here!"

  • "It isn't that I didn't like my meal or the place but it's just not as great as it could be. I've had a better steak at Outback--my steak was tough and hard to chew. Disappointing. Service was great, drinks were great. I didn't expect to pay for valet parking at such an expensive restaurant but whatever. I wouldn't make it a point to go to this restaurant---rather stick with Annie Gunn's if I'm going for the steak and atmosphere."

  • "We were here on Valentines Day and it was snowing outside. Sitting by the fireplace made it a very romantic evening. Service was great and food was fantastic. Steaks, mushrooms, potato puree was very tasty. The only thing I was disappointed in was the truffle mac n cheese. It was bland and tasted like something out of a box. Good wine list and dinner Brandy Alexander prepared with ice cream and very good."

  • "Very nice restaurant; I had a filet and my wife had the salmon. Both entrees very good however a little pricey ($40 for 8 oz filet). Everything is ala cart. Oyster soup was very good and wife's salad was also very good. I knew it was expensive but was expecting a little better. I've had steaks that were just as good at lessor restaurants. Will definitely go back for special occasions. Enjoyed looking at all the baseball pictures."

  • "A group of four of us dined out on a Saturday night and found the food ranging from good to very good but not quite excellent nor outstanding in our opinion. The price for the entree's was well over priced for the quality and quantity to what we are used to getting at other fine establishments. Overall we were slightly disappointed in the dining experience, but what really was a tremendous disappointment was having another dinner party seated at a table next to us with a screaming baby and a mother that was oblivious to everyone else nearby by bumping into our table 4 or 5 times with the stroller and carriage. Expect to pay around $360.00 to $400.00 for a party of 4."

Even their server had to shout to get his job done....which was equally disturbing. Perhaps if he had spoke more normally, they would have given him and the rest of us more courteous consideration."

  • "Mike Shannon's is a destination that every Cardinal fan should experience. The memorabilia on display is reminiscent of Cooperstown. I have to warn visitors to chalk up part of the bill as the admission price to a one of a kind baseball shrine. On two occasions, six months apart, I was served room temperature bisque. On our last, and I do mean last, visit, one of our party's steaks came out significantly overdone. The second attempt was rushed, underdone and had to go back to the kitchen too. Having one member of your party eat alone is not reasonable for a restaurant at Shannon's price point."
