  • "The view was wonderful and the food was amazing. What a great place to go to truly appreciate the fantastic Chicago skyline. I would recommend it to all my friend and family."

  • "About the service, we were given another table's check. Never even thinking that this could have happened I signed the check. The waiters hand reached for it and he said, " I gave you the wrong check." Okay. No problem, stuff happens. We got our check and I signed that one. The next morning my wife sees that both checks are pending on our bank account and the money has been deducted from both. Fortunately we had the money but it definetly was a bummer. Why didn't the waiter just void the first transaction? We had to call different times of the day, several times, until we got ahold of the right person to talk about this with them. Had we not had enough money in our account the bank might very well have given us an overdraft charge."

  • "Took my parents, in from out of town, here to celebrate their anniversary. The staff members were absolutely wonderful, as was the food and ambiance. The views were outstanding. Definitely add in a visit to the SkyDeck - you get to go up via a private elevator."

  • "We enjoyed the visit and the view. Food was good but the service was amazing No jeans in the dining room, my fault didn't read the notes. Great for a memorable dinner for a special event."

  • "My wife and I had a great time and will tell others about this place. The food was excellent and the service was top notch."

  • "I have dined here before on business. I took my wife here for a romantic dinner with views of the city. We had an 8:30 reservation and we arrived at 8:20, we were left standing at the hostess stand for 7 minutes while the were setting the table. I told the hostess we would be at the bar having a drink while they got our table ready. She told me that the kitchen closes at 9:00 and we cannot go to the bar and must wait there for our table. Not a good start. My steak was very good, however, my wife had the tilapia based on a recommendation from the waiter. It was extremely bland and so were the side dishes that accompanied the fish. The bread was served so hard you couldn't break it. The waiter and manger were apologetic. DISAPPOINTED"

  • "The menu is very diverse with a Midwestern style and has something for every taste. The isso bucolic and lamb chops were lovely and the service was top notch. We deferred on dessert as the entree portions were so filling, but the waiter graciously brought a complimentary dessert for our anniversary as well as some lovely port. The dress code written on the Open Table reservation didn't seem to be enforced."

  • "Although we had to wait for 10 minutes for our server to come and place our drink order, we still had a memorable and special evening. The service improved after that point. "

  • "Food was great! Wine list was lacking. Service was pretty good. Can't beat the view! Get there early because there's security downstairs. The only questionable thing was the AUTOMATIC 20% gratuity added to the bill for a party of two.....?"
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "Amazing view with a romantic feel and lovely food. Ask for a table by the window to get the best view."

  • "Great restaurant, GREAT view and quiet old school service. But, our server seemed a little bit green. Kind of learning the ropes. If you are visiting Chicago this is a great stop for dinner on the way to the Willis Tower observation deck."

  • "Beautiful private club type atmosphere, great service and great food. Definitely a special occasion place. View of Chicago from the 67th floor of the Willis Tower cannot be beat. Be sure to enter the building on the Jackson St. side and have ID to go through security."

  • "Not worth to spend time and money to get their if travel from outside. We (my wife and I) looked as Prada style that Friday evening but their maitre d' treated us as simple tourists. They expalined that the club rules accept "business casual" but no jeans for ladies in any case (!). Needless to say that stylish jeans for ladies are always accepted (but obviously not in this very club). They would better need to change their reception and bar staff first (who had very strange manners during communications with us: bar attendant kept a coctail straw in his mouth while talking to me). Or to keep their club for their Members only but not invite guests at their website or through Opentable. Fully dissatisfied. "

  • "The food was a lot better than I was expecting for a private club with a view such as this. I do warn those attending that the security procedures can be tedious, so build in extra time and patience...not the best place for a first date, but a very fun and romantic experience. "

  • "I was so pleased with my experience, I am joining the club."

  • "For the price...go somewhere else. I cannot believe the good/great recommendations. The food was sub par and, saying the service was slow, is being kind. At the end of a $200 check for two for brunch, we actually had to walk to a cash register to close out our check. "

  • "This is our 3rd year coming for Easter Brunch and is always a pleasure. Kids like it and we highly recommended."

  • "My daughters and I went for Easter Brunch and the buffet was very disappointing. We won't be doing that again. (The Bloody Mary was good though) "

  • "Wonderful food. Halibut was wonderful. Others raved about their meal. Able to order a very hard to find wine. Quiet and lovely ambiance after the hassle of getting in with crowded security. Beautiful city and lake view. Will definitely go back!"

  • "we had a fantastic evening at the restaurant and viewing Chicago from the Willis Tower. the views from the bar area and the restaurant itself are equally amazing! we did the travel zoo voucher and were a little concerned about some of the somewhat negative reviews, but we had a fabulous time with great service and great food! our waitress told us that the mandatory 20% surcharge, did cover their tips but that they did not get the whole thing. We did give a tip above that just to ensure our waitress got her fair portion! and since we had a lovely anniversary evening!"

  • "We went on a package to go to the top of the tower and then dinner. The ambiance was great but the service was not. One of our friends asked for a glass of Chardonnay and the sommelier recommended he try a rose (he agreed) but tasted and didn't like (it had turned) and the sommelier brought it to him and hadn't noticed. We had to ask repeatedly for wine, water, and other table items. My wife ordered short ribs and was assured it came with minimal sauce, but instead came smothered in sauce and it took 20 mins to get the waitress' attention to send it back. At the end of the night we found out that regardless of party size they add 20% gratuity and that all wait staff are on salary (don't work for tips). We could not reduce the tip amount."

  • "The service I received was horrible. Our waiter never asked how was our meal, our meal was not cleared for about 20 minutes after we finished eating. Drinks were not replenished and parking was a big issue"

  • "I got engaged and then had dinner that evening at the Metropolitan Club. They treated us like we were the king and queen of England. Nothing but friendly service all night along with outstanding food."

  • "This is a great place to spend time at for an event or any kind of special time. Great food, great view, great service. Very romantic. Suggest going at sunset."

  • "Wonderful first class restaurant definitely for club membership patrons. So glad we get to enjoy it too. Service is four or five star and the lobster macaroni is to die for. Just perfect could not add anything further."

  • "Extremely nice, pleasant staff. Our waitress had a great personality and was very attentive, This restaurant is elegant, but not over-the-top where you feel uncomfortable or out of place. The level of noise wasn't too quiet where you had to whisper, but it wasn't too noisy either. We were able to enjoy some conversation and laughs. The food was great. I didn't think I would ever order macaroni and cheese at a nice restaurant, but when I read "Lobster Mac & Cheese" on the appetizer menu, I couldn't resist. It was AMAZING. I had beef tenderloin for my entrée, which was made to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. My fiancée and I came as a post engagement celebratory dinner, and we couldn't have been happier."

  • "The meal was excellent! From the scallop appetizer to the lamb chops to the chocolate mousse, everything was great. The view of the west side of chicago at night was a bonus."

  • "The experience here was beyond outstanding. The genesis of this culinary adventure began with the security protocol after entering the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) meaning that security was paramount. Seated by a window on the 67th floor at night conjures an enhanced romantic backdrop. The appetizers as well as the main course was phenomenal. The aura of it all gave an impression that you were alone on top of the world. The service was undeniably on point and you were never for want for anything. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, and super efficient. Questions regarding of other services and offers that the club provided were explained as references were produced. Highly recommend this establishment for many reasons. Wow!"

  • "We went to The Metropolitan Club restaurant for our anniversary dinner. It had very good food and a wonderful view of the city. We had a table by the window. It was a quiet, lovely atmosphere with good service. We had a prefix menu which we were not expecting. It was the day after Valentine's Day. Even though we were looking forward to choosing from the menu that we saw on line, the food that was chosen for us was exceptional."

  • "Overall, disappointed. Was looking forward to having a "special" time at a big name restaurant that demanded big prices thinking it would be worth it. Unfortunately, it did not pay out. It was not a terrible experience just not great."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Never been a big complainer but just wanted to express how disappointed I was in the experience on 2/14/14. I understand that it was Valentine's Day, a uniquely busy yet profitable one for most restaurants. However, Metropolitan Club over-extending its ability to provide a great experience for some of it's customers. Paying what i assume was the same pre-fixe rate for all diners, we were seated in the overflow section of the restaurant in the bar. Further, the servers seemed to be temps and were completely unaware of the menu and only seemed to place food on the table and pour wine flights without any explanation of what was being served. Mediocre, lukewarm dishes, poor service and terrible atmosphere does not make for a +$310 experience."
