One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Peter Kuhlman's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.

Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor firepit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening. Take a walk through our gorgeous all-season garden that surrounds the entire 2601 Vaughn Street historic building.

  • "I was really disappointed in the lunch menu (very limited - not many choices for those not wanting to eat like a cow in the middle of the day). My companion ordered the pizza, which was so greasy you could hold it up and let the grease run off continuously - not sure if this was just an off day, but it was really gross. The service was great and they took it back and let us order something else, but it took a lot of time. I ordered an entrée salad which was a smaller portion than most restaurant's side salad size, and it was $14.00. I will come back for happy hour and brunch and even dinner, but not for lunch."

  • "We had brunch here on April 13. It was sunny so we chose to sit outside in the garden. The location was perfect, got to sit in the sun and enjoy a lovely Portland morning drinking mimosas and eating a very nice brunch. We had pretty traditional dishes eggs/bacon/potatoest (there are other more interesting options on the menu), but the food was perfectly cooked and there was plenty of it. As always, the service here tends to be on the slow side, but we were not in a hurry. This has now become our standard place to celebrate after a run (Race for the Roses). We will definitely go back!"

  • "From start to finish, our time was divine. The food was tasty, the service excellent. We had the crab risotto and the lamb shank for our main course, and both were spectacular. The lamb fell off the bone, and my husband raved about his dish all weekend long. We also tried the beet salad, as well as the steak bites, octopus, and the crab deviled eggs for an appetizer. Again, all dishes were artfully prepared and we will most certainly be returning soon."

  • "From the street, Meriwether's looks like a cottage in the countryside and I was happy to find out that the interior continues the same aesthetic. There is a cute patio in the back that is enclosed during the cooler months. I really like having another outdoor dining option where you don't have to deal with foot traffic while you're trying to enjoy food and company. Another high point was the attentive service, which you don't always find in outdoor seating. The dining month menu was well thought out with good sized portions. I enjoyed the citrus salad, but the pork was a bit dry and the dessert was flavored more subtly than I prefer. I'll be back for more ciabatta and olive oil, though, and look forward to trying more menu items."

  • "I don't know that I'll come back to Meriweathers again after the experience we had Sunday morning. My fiance's mimosa was full of expensive ice rather than juice and vodka. And we had to change seats in the garden under the sturdy pergola to try to get away from the extreme heat blasting from the massive heat lamp. My skin felt like it was on fire. Our kind waiter, confirmed with other diners that the heat was no longer necessary, turned it off. Unfortunately, the very pushy manager, who I'd witness berate an employee earlier, decided to crank the heat up again despite my plea not to, so that she could seat another table who didn't want to sit outside initially. As for the food, it was OK but the sausage was strangely unsalted and rubbery."

  • "A group of friends and I went to Meriwethers. We arrived shortly before our reserved time, we're seated promptly and had a wonderful meal. Each course was better then the previous and a short time after each was delivered someone stopped by to make sure we were happy with our choice and the preparation. The wait staff and General Manager were terrific and never intrusive . It was our first visit and definitely not our last. We drive from Salem so it has to be great for us to return. We are anxiously anticipating a weekend drive to experience their biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The food was fresh and unique. The atmosphere was nice and the service fun, efficient and made our visit comfortable. What a wonderful fined!"

We ended up with two risotto dishes which were pretty mundane and in the case of the crab seemed a bit old. Salad was ok. Desert ok. Service was great."

Our waiter, Sean, was attentive, made recommendations, described preparations, and gave us just the right amount of attention. The food was also outstanding. I would recommend Meriwether's to anyone who wants a great meal, good ambience, and excellent service."

  • "I was early and let the hostess know I had a reservation. We decided to eat in the bar. Oddly the hostess passed our table and told me she marked us as "NO SHOWS". I expressed to her this was uncomfortable for me as I know records are kept. Next day I received an email from OPEN TABLE saying I was a "NO SHOW". VERY DISSAPOINTED Meriwether's hostess was lazy and did not bother to make a written or mental note I was in the bar. I spent $170.00 plus tip, the staff should be more professional."

  • "Our meal was not only delicious but also beautifully prepared. The brunch menu had a wide assortment to select from. I highly recommend the Scallops on hummus with fresh greens; I only wish there had been one more scallop as I gave one to my husband which only left one for me. Don't think I went away hungry as the scallop was large and I had some of his fish and chips! One thing important to note is my Mother in Law stated that while the room was filled with diners, it was not overly loud! She often feels left out because she cannot hear what is going on at the table. We not only enjoyed the meal but enjoyed each other's company:)!! I look forward to going back and trying other things on the menu!"

I've only had lentils served in soups or stews and enjoyed this combination. I found the staff and place classy and look forward to a visit again."

I was surprised by the lack of follow up the waitress, my boyfriend waited a long time and finally asked the bus boy to assist and then he was asked if he wanted more water. Overall a surprising brunch! The first we'd ever done. We already decided that we would go again."
