  • "The meal we had early evening 17th August was the third occasion I have entertained family and friends at McCormick's to say 'thank you' to them for making our biennial visits to your area so welcoming, enjoyable and relaxing. We return to McCormick's each time for these celebrations as we, first and foremost, enjoy the food, the service is always good, the staff friendly, never intrusive and the booths give the feeling of privacy. All the members of the party enjoyed the dishes they had chosen, the cheesy potatoes went down, forgive the pun, particularly well on this occasion. As a Yorkshireman I found the chips/fries well up to standard."

  • "My buddy and I dined in the Bar Area of the restaurant and were attended by the bartender,Tamara. Before ordering I enjoyed a great tasting made to order Tequila Bloody Mary. Although there were several fish selections and specials I opted for the fresh cut Carpaccio appetizer followed by a made to order very good Turkey Wrap served with a glass of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay. The food service and ambiance are conducive to having a fun lunch. The service Tamara provides is exemplary. Overall McCormicks' is one of my favorite restaurants to dine at when I visit the Beaverrton, Or area."

  • "We went here specifically for the outdoor seating. It was fabulous and the food was fabulous! But the biggest thing that stuck out to me was the service. With outdoor dinner, you can sometimes be forgotten about by the waitstaff and your glass not only runs dry, but sits empty for an extended amount of time. This never happened to us. There was a dedicated server on the patio and plenty of help for him through our meal. I order the New York Strip Oscar style and it was mouth-watering delicious. Everyone else at my table ordered the Seafood Sampler and were very pleased as well. I highly recommend McCormick's and especially if you are looking for spot with great summer outdoor seating."

  • " We have gone to this establishment to celebrate wedding anniversaries most years for some time now. Would have to rate this particular visit way above any previous, and they were all good; otherwise, why return, right. I had the best salmon dinner I can remember, regardless of the source, and my wife was thrilled with her halibut. And the side dishes...great! I have only one nit to pick over this form, however; being limited to "outstanding" for the service seems a little low for our waitress. That young lady was efficient without being pushy, friendly without any sign of "perkiness", and just an all-round pleasure. Just wish we could run into more servers like her."

  • "I have been going to McCormicks for many years but it's not the same. The service was good however the food was very average for not-so-average prices. If it was really (still) a locally based restaurant, I would expect to be able to order wild-caught salmon, but on their lunch menu under "signature fish dishes" there are two salmon options both being farm raised Atlantic salmon. I opted for a wild-caught rock fish which was just ok, and came with mashed potatoes and squash. Nothing special. The bread was seemingly day-old, tough and not warm. Lunch for 2 was nearly $50 with two lunch menu fish entrees and 2 iced teas. I had reservations for lunch, but when we arrived, it was clear we didn't need them. Just not the same."

  • "I ordered cod and it wasn't flaky and flavorful as I felt fresh fish should be. The tartar sauce was more of a spicy southwest sauce--it didn't mix well with the taste of the cod. Nothing special about the meal (frozen fries, small cup of cabbage with a tiny amount of dressing they called cold slaw). The service was quick & friendly as the restaurant had more empty seats than customers. It wasn't up to the standards of other McCormick's that I've eaten at in other cities."

  • "The food was excelent and creative; the server was diligent and knowledgeable, and when we asked to talk to the wine expert, she knew her stuff and was extremely helpful. We will probably go back. There was only one thing missing to make this the perfect date-night/special occasion restaurant: the atmosphere doesn't come up to the level of the food and service. The front of the restaurant, with its hard wooden benches, looked like a cheap seafood place (and this place is not cheap, though I thought the quality justified the prices) and the back, where we were, was better but seemed dated, worn and in need of refurbishment. Great food, but with some redecoration could be an all-around winner."

It is obvious these folks like their jobs and one another and that is the key to what makes it work. The food is good, but what keeps us going back time after time?   • "We ordered from the special 25th Anniversary menu and DOINK!!! The Copper River Salmon was a TINY portion and not perfectly cooked- crispy on top and raw in parts on the inside. The Scallop special was supposed to come with risotto but it was plain ol' long grain rice. One expects more when the entrees are $30+, right? They were out of the econ Chardonnay by the glass, too. Won't be returning!!!"

  • "I made reservations for a Friday night and despite the restruant being half empty we were seated at the smallest table imaginable. It was very dark and quiet. The waiter kept trying to push expensive food and drinks on us. when I ordered I only got clam chowder and told the waiter it was because I had weight loss surgery and had a small stomach and he literally replied "I don't like customers like you"!! I felt like all he cared about was the size of the check and his tip. He didn't check on us at all during dinner. The food was okay, the potatoes were almost raw in the clam chowder."

Lacking specific vegan items on the menu, he asked the waitress to see if the chef would use his/her imagination and create something vegan. A beautiful pasta-based meal emerged that was delicious and satisfying. The others in our party, both fish lovers, were thrilled with the selections they had made from the menu."

  • "Unfortunately this great long term fish house has gone down hill. Service was very good, the atmosphere was as nice as always, however the meals were less than what was expected. The menu has become very limited. The menu stated the meal was served with roasted vegetables. However it came with sauted zucchini, which is a very inexpensive vegetable, and quite frankly, we would expect more for an establishment like this. Shrimp Scampi was very bland, I am not sure any garlic was even used with the preparation. The fresh salmon was OK at best. Unless we hear things have changed, we will not go back. We have eaten here for over 30 years and it has been one of the best. Today we would not reccommend to anyone."

  • "Very disappointed in the rib eye steak, over seasoned with balsamic or something and full of gristle. Not even close to being worth the $35 price tag. The lobster tail that my wife ordered was also a disappointment. The flavor and texture was fine both the portion was out of the Jenny Craig catalog. I've caught larger crawfish. Will not be dinning at this establishment again."

Plus if you are a Landry member the perks and discounts are really excellent--I redeemed birthday and points for a $50 discount.   • "I took my wife there for mother's day date night, and we had a nice time. The beer and wine selection was nice, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was very good. We found the portion sizes a little small for the price and the way the tables are set up it seemed a little cramped, but these were our only complaints. I would recommend this for small groups but would advise going on off-hours for any group larger than about four."

  • "Took our very elderly Mom for Mother's Day Brunch...very disappointing. The Crab Cake Benedict, which was $17.99 had two crab cakes that were each the size of a half dollar. The egg that sat on each was jokingly referred to as "quail" eggs...come on guys, are you kidding??? The place is expensive, the quality of the food is mediocre. I doubt they could pay me to return. Portland has so many great restaurants...do yourself a favor and skip this one!"

  • "We met friends for a 5-year celebration, and the food was excellent as usual at McCormick's. Our waiter was excellent and didn't bother us but was attentive. It helped that it was not busy on a Monday night (a great night to go), but nonetheless was great. Our table had seared ahi, parmesan crusted sole, fried razor clams and butterflied shrimp, and everyone thought it was excellent. "

  • "Food was so so. For appetizers we had the Dungeoness Tower which was more like a tiny cylinder... and the Calamari which was nice. My daughter had the sturgeon and that was excellent. The Tilapia was not cooked very well and the Alaskan Razor Clams were pretty chewy. The vegetables that came with the dinner were "steamed" however not enough, they were barely warm and raw. The couscous that came with the Tilapia was a poor choice as it had an odd taste and the parsnips in it gave it no added flavor, nor color. Dessert was very nice with the chocolate bag, which was more of a box really. Service was good starting out, however the swordfish wasn't available as first ordered. By the end of the meal, service slowed to a crawl."
