  • "I chose this restaurant because of its location and consistently good food. I was right about those two things. However our waitress wasn't knowledgeable at all about the simplest things on the menu and she was constantly interrupting us when it was clear that we were having a business lunch."

  • "We paid over $300 for a meal for four people. The food was unimpressive and we do not plan to return."

  • "The food here is very good, but what I like most about this restaurant is the privacy. I really appreciate that the tables are not crowded together. My husband and I enjoyed our meal, and our ability to share quiet conversation in its well decorated setting."

  • "I really needed this. For 14 years I had been yearning for good seafood and finally had the chance to scratch that particular 'itch' at your establishment. Great place, fantastic food, and the waiter was outstanding. The clam chowder alone was by far the best I've ever had. It had no hint of 'fishiness' and it was absolutely delightful. I wish I could recall his name but alas, I'm terrible with remembering names. When I get back out to Wisconsin I'll be back to McCormick & Schmick's! I am already looking forward to it."

  • "We like to go to M&S occasionally for their fish and chips which is really a nice fish fry on Friday night. The fish is beer-battered, the slaw is tangy, and the fries are standard but good. No bread though. Maybe we had to ask for it and didn't."

  • "The trout was one of the best I have ever experienced, and the chef and waiters were unbelievable great. I would definitely come back and recommend this to all my friends. Just had a great time !!!! All the people involved were extremely polite and answered all of our questions."

  • "I always recommend when at a steak restaurant, order steak and at a seafood restaurant, order seafood! But at my first visit to McCormick & Schmick's I was intrigued by the waiter's recommendation (too late for my order that night) of a steak with side of lobster mashed potatoes. That (a ribeye) is what I ordered this time. It was very good. The steak was a good but not great cut, nicely done (medium) as ordered. Having tried this once, I will now resume following my maxim and have seafood at this restaurant in the future. Others had whitefish and salmon. Both were excellent. This, combined with an excellent dining experience on our first visit, leads me to highly recommend McCormick and Schmick's in Milwaukee."

  • "McCormick and Schmick is an excellent local restaurant that is part of a national chain of quality restaurants. Whether dining our for a simply delicious meal or a special occassion, we have found this to be consistently good. . It would be a great place to take guests or business associates for a great meal and fine time."

  • "Fish was overcooked and dry and they didn't seem to really care! Over priced and quality of food bad! Many better places to eat for the same price and less. I highly recommend NOT wasting your money at McCormick and Schmick's! They have line cooks that they call chefs! Really... my wife ordered rare tuna and got served extremely well done and dry tuna! My Marlin was also slightly dry and management didn't even care to make things right! Extremely disappointed and will NOT waste my money with them again! "

  • "this was not out first visit to this fine establishment. because of positive experiences in the past, we decided to visit again to celebrate our wedding anniversary. we were greeted warmly upon entering, and seated immediately(we had a reservation). our waiter stopped by the table soon after and offered us water and bread while we looked over the wine list and menu after pointing out the specials of the day. the wine list had one of my favorites on it, but my wife likes a specific type of chardonnay and asked our waiter for advice. his advice turned out to be excellent. my wife chose lobster bisque and a chopped salad, and I chose pretzel crusted walleye - the flavors were amazing! three berry cobbler for dessert - more flavors! wonderful!"

  • "How can a seafood restaurant run out of Salmon. At least 5 of the menu items had it in them but they substituted Steel Head Trout. Because of this I had the NY strip. The price and size were different than advertised on the website ( Smaller size/Bigger price). I asked for medium and the steak came well done. The replacement came medium rare which was ok, but it was thin and had a silver dollar size piece of fat at one end. By that time the rest of my party were done eating so I passed on complaining. Fortunately the Appetizers we had were very good."

  • "The service was slow and blamed the poor service on another group that was in the restaurant before us. Said they stayed longer than they were supposed to. It wasn't even crowded!"

  • "This was the first time I dined at this restaurant and I must say everything was great. Our waiter Brian was wonderful and took his time explaining the food selections on the menu. I will definitely be visiting again!"

  • "Poor service, wasn't even asked for a drink order. Than when drink was ordered it came after the meal. Food came quickly and was very good however portions were small. "

  • "The other restaurants at Mayfair Shopping Center are always very loud and chaotic. McCormick & Schmick's is a welcome change. However, this visit I did notice that prices for lunch specials have increased...some significantly. More in the $10.00 category would be appreciated. If you love to drink Arnold Palmer's (1/2 iced tea, 1/2 lemonade) as much as I do, this is the place to have one! I have ordered them all over the U.S. and these are by far the best."

  • "My husband and I went out on a date Saturday. We've been married for 31 years and don't "date" much. We wanted to go someplace new and nice. We were seated in a private booth and enjoyed a fabulous meal we will always remember. The staff was wonderful and saw to our needs. We went for lunch after a really good movie and we will be back in the future for some celebration or another. Thank you for a great time!"

  • "A had a business lunch and very extremely disappointed. I asked for the arugula/beet salad with the dressing on the side (a normal request) she serve it with the dressing fully prepared on the salad and when I called her back to get my original request with it on the side, you would have thought I just asked her to run a 10k. But she did honor my request but when the salad was remake, it was the worst looking salad/greens we wilted/yellow/brown with six tiny pieces of beets and isn't even something I would serve at my own table let alone a restuarant and again the server didn't even blink an eye at the quality. I could go on but I think you get the point. Extremely disappointed."

  • "The appearance and appetizer were very nice, but the rest of the experience was far below par. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer was subtly flavored with a fine marmalade sauce. The rest of the food was quite disappointing. The Apple Salad had one small apple slice, and the Caesar Salad appeared to be bagged romaine and Parmesan; both salads were dressed far too lightly. The fish entrees were also a disappointment. The seasoning mix for the Blackened Mahi Mahi was overly salty, but the chef was very generous with the lump crab topping and the Andouille mashed potatoes were delicious. The Shrimp Trilogy was underwhelming - the stuffed shrimp's filling was bland, lacking both seasoning and texture. Beer lovers beware - small selection!"

  • "After waiting more than an HOUR for our food, a manager loudly pronounced her kitchen staff "incompetent," gave a long rendition of her job difficulties and offered free desserts. The parmesan crusted chicken - missing the signature lemon-caper sauce, and had a puddle of grease. Kids chicken tenders (For a high-end restaurant, I expected healthier options) were thickly battered & greasy. French fries undercooked. A salmon pasta dish was missing the asparagus, mushy noodles lacked flavor. When the waitress returned to our table for dessert orders, she only offered Creme Brulee or ice cream. Disappointed we all ordered ice cream, except the last member of our party, who after a bit of pushing got a dessert menu from her. "

  • "CONS: We found the entree portion sizes to be quite small. One meal came without the sauce and the vegetables the waiter said came with the meals never came. Interaction with waiter was uncomfortable at best. He filled my husband's water glass but did not refill my ice tea until I asked. Perhaps he was new. When we left the establishment the 2 staff members at the hostess stand did not say anything to us but continued their own personal conversation. PROS: Able to make a reservation. Beautiful decor and ample parking."

  • "Aside from the waiter bring the soup and salad at the same time.....(?) it was a very good meal. People other than our server checked on us as well. My teen kids enjoyed it their food - when you get to the main dining room, look up! It's a stunning ceiling. "

  • "very good food and service. the third time we've been to this location. the only complaint we had was the constant fruit flies at our table and later at the bar."

  • "Great side dishes, nice interesting menu items with some creativity. When they asked if we wanted bread I was not sure if it was included with meal and felt embarrassed to ask. I think this should be clarified since the menu does not list bread as an item of choice."

  • "We visited this restaurant the first time. The fish entree was well prepared and came with potato and vegetable. Our entrees were Arctic Char which we have not eaten for a long time. It has some similarity to salmon. We enjoyed our meal and proceeded to drive another 10 miles to attend the Symphony. We would return to this restaurant,"

  • "The restaurant was out of 4 fish on their menu. My Mahi Mahi was over grilled!!! Very dry. Vegetables were mediocre. Bourdain is right -- never eat at a restaurant on a Monday!!!!!"

  • "The food was very good and nicely presented, but very pricey. The service was attentive. The atmosphere was not comfortable (my preference) It was quiet (except for the occasional screams from the bar area during March Madness) and stuffy."

  • "Literally everything I tried was fantastic. The lobster bisque was superb. Music was obnoxious but that would be my only complaint. Dinner for 2 with drinks came in just under $100 pre tip for 3 courses. I'll definitely return."

  • "Had lunch the fish was fresh. It was served freshly made, hot and delicious . They used Guinness instead of the usual spotted beer for batter. The service was great. She kept coming to the table and asking if there was anything we needed."

  • "Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night after doing some shopping. We were dressed casually and we're treated very rudely and basically ignored because we weren't dressed as nicely as most of the people around us. Our server even passed our table off to another waitress because she didn't even want to deal with us, thinking she probably wouldn't get a tip from the casually dressed couple. The food was sub-par at best, portions were small and the seafood did not taste fresh at all. Everything had a very strong fishy taste and smell to it. Pretty expensive and definitely not worth the money. Not a good dining experience all around and we will not be back."

  • "I have been before with large, private groups and had great service and food. This time, our waiter tried too hard, 2 pieces of silverware had to be sent back to be cleaned, we had to ask to order drinks, we had to ask for small plates for appetizers and bread. The food was ok, but not spectacular and they were out of 2 desserts. Overall it was just not great."

  • "I liked the atmosphere, the high stained glass ceiling; very cool. Our waiter was very good; explained the menu, handled questions professionally yet showed his personality and sense of humor. There were four of us in our party and we all had seafood. I had the stuffed shrimp w/crab. Very good. I also enjoyed the mashed potoatoes with red pepper and cheese; different, very tasty. Two others in our group had scallops and one had the stuffed salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Will definately be back."

  • "I took a group of 10 people and the service was spot on, with the waiter coming by very often but not in a annoying manner. The food was superb, especially the roasted red pepper mash potatoes. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family."
