  • "This was second bad experience in a row. We assumed we hit it on an off night a month ago. Obviously not - poor food and service is now the norm. Food is incredibly below average. They seem to rely on microwave 100%. Medium steak was purple and had to return it twice - didn't come back till rest of table was finished eating. Fish and lobster was rubbery. Water not offered. Not one of our party of six thought their meal was good. Manager came back with steak the third time, but acted like she was inconvenienced. Definitely felt that we were not treated right. This is a disgrace with the prices they charge. No offer to take the steak off bill, which was left uneaten - as was the majority of the dinners. This place is a FAIL!"

  • "Experience was outstanding. It was our second night in a row. Food and Food service was what I have experienced at other McCormick & Schmick's, outstanding. Waiter was a jewel. As noted earlier, we had a totally different experience the night before. It was like we had entered an entirely different restaurant."

  • "For the price, it needs to be better than just ok. Some of our meal was fine - fresh oysters, delicious herb-crusted rockfish and nicely sauteed vegetables. But a mediocre cocktail (underpoured, lacking sufficient alcohol punch) what seemed to be a steamed, mushy lobster served with vegetables on a water-logged plate and a bar staff that had a hard time finding the right bottle of wine are not what one expects from a restaurant that promotes itself as a high-end place. Waterfront Kitchen has a better view, O'Leary's in Annapolis, and even the casual Mike's Crab House put out better seafood. I can't think of a single reason to recommend McCormick & Schmick over those. Very disappointing."

  • "The food was excellent; the waiter not so much, not attentive. We had to ask for bread. My friend ordered coffee, which was served in a cup with no saucer and cream added. She asked why the cream had been added and no saucer. His response, that is the way we serve it. Yet it was not true at adjoining tables. I must add, we had a totally different experience on another night with a different waiter."

  • "Celebrated a recent birthday dinner by dining on a Saturday night on the patio. First, the Good news. Lovely patio, great view, great ambience. The food was excellent! Looked like small portions, but deceptively filling! Highly recommend the scallops. Second, the not-so-good news. Tried one of the recommended drinks - prosecco sangria - no flavor, watered down, and tasted only like cucumber. Try something else. Service was a little slow - hard to tell if because the restaurant is huge and they had far to go to get outside or they simply had too many tables. The restaurant was nice and sat us before our reservation, but then didn't mark down that we'd kept our reservation - and this was after giving our name/reservation time to the hostess!"

  • "Food was heavy on the salt and pepper and the portions were lacking. Suppose that was good in this situation since it wasn't that great. I got the AHI Tuna dinner and left still hungry....which at around $30 plate seems wrong. Waiter was nice enough. Bathroom was pretty gross - usually tells me a lot about a restaurant. I notified the host at the front, but she didn't seem too concerned."

  • "I am new to the area so I wanted to take advantage of restaurant week and try out McCormick and Schmick's. I was not disappointed. The food was wonderful, the wine was excellent and the service was more than I could have asked for. I dined outside with family and we had a fantastic time. There was a concert going on at Pier 6 and we were able to hear the whole show which just enhanced our experience. The concert was going on however, it was not loud enough to interrupt our dinner. My only note was that we were eating in the evening after sunset and the outdoor area was a bit dark. That too was not overly disruptive but, I would have liked a little more lighting. I highly recommend dining here."

  • "We went to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. Our reservation was for indoor dining, but when we arrived we wanted to sit outside. The inside hostess led us and we were seated quickly. But at a dirty table. Our server was horrible. She gave us bread, but never gave us silverware. Our food came out lukewarm and we still had no silverware. 20 min to get our server's attention so we could finally get silverware. The food was mediocre. I did order dessert. But I had it wrapped to go. The outdoor scene of the water and pier six was awesome. I did love the view. Overall, the next special occasion we will probably travel the extra miles to the McCormick & Schmick at the National Harbor. Amazing service, food, and view there."

The crab dip with the warm pita chips were simply out of this world. The food portions were just right. Everything was simply wonderful. The selections on the restaurant week menu were great."

  • "yes, when I looked at many other local hotels on restaurant week - same comments appeared: kitchen too busy and food is not up to their usual high standards.. our waitperson had way too many tables and our service was really bad (the bar was very busy so it took 15 mins to get my glass of wine and his martini... the rice with the snapper (excellent) was literally raw and hard - she offered to bring me some other side but that took 20 mins and I was done by then -- which she freely acknowledged when it arrived. one thing I've seen several restaurants do is assign too many tables to a wait person because they themselves ask (they want more tips) and service turns out not great for anyone. valet was great."

And of course the Maker's 46 and the R1 was an amazing way to close out a fabulous oyster experience. I have been there for the swordfish and I have to say that it was cooked to perfection!"

  • "Although we had a reservation for 6:00 pm, we stood around at the front entrance waiting at least 20-30 minutes before being seated. The hostess offered no apology for the wait and offered no options such as waiting in the bar area. The atmosphere could be enhanced with a few seats for waiting. The restaurant was busy in that we arrived two hours before a big show in the area, so we understood that we received limited but pleasant attention from our waiter. Three out of four of us were extremely pleased with our meals. It was a new experience for me to have stuffed salmon. I prefer my salmon to be more delicately prepared. All said, I will go back probably for an outdoor evening."

  • "Was in Baltimore for a convention and wanted good seafood. The dishes were amazing! Fish and chips, sea bass, crab cake, steak and a pasta and shrimp dish. The only bad thing was, the pasta with the shrimp was not hot, but we were also sitting under an air conditioning vent! Bring a sweater if you sit inside, a bit chilly!!"

  • "For a seafood restaurant you would think they cook cook fish, not so. My tiny piece of $36.99 halibut tasted like my shoe. My wife had the shrimp trilogy, it was on par with any diner that can fry shrimp. Our waiter Brendan was outstanding the view is great just bad food. Will not return or recommend."

  • "Since it was restaurant week I made the reservation thinking we would revisit a restaurant we hadn't been to in several years. We shared the yummy crab dip appetizer, then three of the four entrees were served. We managed to get our waiter who did eventually brought the 4th entree. The portions , especially the tuna, were quite small. We ordered two desserts. Their homemade apple caramel pie was fantastic as was the heath bar brownie, both served with ice cream. So how did restaurant week play into our dinner - it did not. Their restaurant menu was very disappointing with only two out of the four entrees being seafood. However, we were pleased with the regular menu and we all had very good dinners."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner; had to call and delay our arrival for dining and we were told it was not a problem; a large group was in-house and did not negatively impact service or wait times. Waiter was knowledgeable about menu items and preparation, as well as offered suggestions. Restaurant was a bit chilly and staff accommodated our request, as well as guests at other tables, for the temperature to be adjusted. Food presented very well, was hot; little wait time between placement of order and arrival. Oyster appetizer sampler was wonderful; fresh rainbow trout and other menu items were delicious. Mashed potatoes a little runny; orzo was great. Maryland crab soup loaded with crab pieces and quite tasty. Overall, highly recommend."

  • "Last Friday night we were celebrating an an anniversary. Got a great table outside. Waiter kept trying to up sell but forgot the basics.ordered drinks salads and entree. Waited forever for drinks and salads. Took one bite of salad and here is your entree. Waiter was M I A until dessert then the offer to join their club. ...no mention of anniversary.upon leaving I spoke to the hostess who said"I'll let the manager know" Know this...for a restaurant billed as upscale you have a long way to go."

  • "Not sure what has happened at the Baltimore location but it was an embarrassment. The service was almost non-existent and when there was any it was full of excuses. The food was not hot, getting a drink took at least 20 minutes each time, they ran out of glasses, the food took almost 40 minutes to be served. It was a production to inquire about and eventual order a vegetarian dinner including a bunch of rules of what the restaurant could not do. I was hosting two of my largest franchisees and the restaurant had in the past been a fine backdrop to do two things; conduct business and enjoy a great meal with great ambiance. This WAS NOT the case. The restaurant should reimbuurse me the $200."

  • "We had a party of 5 for a late/8pm Sunday dinner. The place did not seem crowded but our service and food was slow...over 1 hour for our meals to come out. Once they did one of the dinners was terrible: the steak was rare (requested medium) and the lobster overcooked. After waiting for the waiter to finally return he offered to re-cook it but at that point we just asked to speak to the manager. She did a "drive-by" without even speaking to us and instructed him to offer us a creme brûlée. Insulted we asked to speak to someone else who came to the table and offered to remove that from our bill. Finally after a 2.5 hour miserable experience we could leave. NEVER going back...poor food and food service and even worse customer service."

  • "What a terrific location. Very good service. Lobster bisque was good. But the mixed grill was bland, potato was bland and the Belen's were just a bit under cooked. My wife's stuffed salmon was also bland if eaten without the Bree. Overall, very disappointed with the quality of the food. They must have suspected, be as no one asked. Not at all what I have become accustomed to at McCormick & Schmicks."
