  • "Took niece and nephew for meal and thought the food was just so-so. The staff left something to be desired, but everyone should try it once - with kids."

  • "A friend told me about Max Brenner and I have wanted to go for about a year. I decided to take two of my granddaughters and they cannot stop talking about it! I am sure this will be a memory they will treasure for a long time. It is a chocolate lover's paradise. The food was very tasty and the presentation was over the top! The best hot chocolate you ever will have in a lifetime. I plan to take all of the grandchildren together so they can experience wonderful taste of chocolate!!!"

  • "We shared a salted caramel chocolate shake, which was outstanding! We also had the s'mores plate, which was very yummy and lots of fun. Definitely a great place to grab chocolatey dessert!"

  • "As soon as you walk in, you smell chocolate and what a wonderful smell it is. Went there for lunch, and the food and service were great. The entire staff was very friendly and inviting. I can't wait to visit there again. They are actually on 15th, not Walnut. The building's address they are in is 1500 Walnut st."

  • "My wife and I ate here at 5pm on a Friday and our table wasn't even wiped down. There were tons of tables with dishes still on the table as well. The bathrooms were poorly kept as well. This did take away from the dinning experience a little but the food was very good. For the price we were paying I would expect cleaner conditions. The drinks were good and the s'more crepe was so good. I recommend the Philly cheesesteak waffle such a great recreation of a Philly classic in a waffle bun. I will give this place one more chance but if the cleanliness is not up to par next time it will be my last time dinning no matter how good the food is. If the dinning room is this dirty I don't want to know what the kitchen looked like."

  • "My kid loves this place. The service was good but the table and the menus were dirty, which is kind of gross. I had to ask the hostess to clean the table we were sitting at and when she kind of swiped at the sticky stuff on the table, I had to take the towel from her and scrub it off myself. Also, we got a fondue for two and it came with three marshmallows and three brownies (in addition to other things). Difficult to divide three things to share with two people, and really? Three marshmallows is chintzy for a fondue that costs $25. Throw in a few more marshmallows and give an even number of brownie pieces."

  • "Max Brenner's was a yummy restaurant that I went to after work one day. I met up with a friend who was getting out of school. We were dressed pretty casually and that was just fine for this place. The food was tasty; we both got pasta dishes and we split a banana split on a waffle for dessert. YUM!"

  • "This restaurant attracts a lot of families and is great for young kids. I have teenagers and young adults and they love this restaurant for the huge portions, great milk shakes and fabulous desserts. It's fun!!"

  • "We loved the food and our waiter, but the tables seem very close together. Getting in and out of the table, we had to move the table so I could get out and the table next to us had to do the same. I also had to wait a long time for the bathroom as there were only two bathrooms."

  • "We chose Max Brenner to satisfy our 5-year old chocolate addict. The atmosphere was lively, kid-friendly, and there was a lot to look at while we waited for our food, including a shop with interesting chocolates and gifts. For dinner, I had a B.A.L.T. sandwich, which was very average, but the fries were great. My husband ordered the dry-rubbed chicken wings and had a lukewarm reaction to them. However, the desserts made the trip. I had an Italian Thick hot chocolate. It was the best thing I have ever tasted. My daughter got The Melting Chocolate Truffle Heart Cake & Shake, which cost $15. For that price, the cake portion was small, but there were other components that made it possible to share. On future trips, I will go just for dessert."

  • "I loved my first experience at Max Brenner! My entree, my desert, and my drink was amazing. It's a really laidback atmosphere (great for a date); yet also a great place to go with friends. I will definitely go back!"

  • "The food was very good, all four of us were very pleased. The salads were large and very tasty. The four of us shared two chocolate chip cookies that were excellent. We were seated right at the time of our reservation. The only drawback is that the seating is close together and by the end of our dinner the noise was at a very high level, which made it difficult to converse with each other. Overall it is a nice switch from normal restaurant dining and a great type to have in center city."

  • "A group of friends and myself made a reservation. It was my friend's birthday, so I called ahead to ask if they did any cheesey singing or anything. A very friendly person informed me that they brought out a plate with "happy birthday" written and to remind my waitress. It was very loud to start and we were crammed in a corner. The waitress was very forgetful. She forgot dishes that we ordered (probably because she didn't write anything down) and I reminded her about the birthday plate...then she brought our check and never brought it out. The food was nothing to write home about, same with the dessert. I am a chocolate addict and will not be back nor recommend this to anyone. I was very disappointed that the prices didn't match quality"

  • "I was looking forward to dessert so I decided to eat lite to save room. I had the best macaroni and cheese I have ever eaten here! It was even better than my waffle with ice cream and chocolate!"

  • "Since we were staying in Center City, we made reservations for dinner for 5 for my friend's bachelorette party. Our reservation was for 5:30pm so it was technically an early dinner, but the restaurant was almost full already. Our server was very sweet and helpful. This was our first time at Max Brenner, so I think we were a little bit thrown off with no traditionally obvious bar, and the amount of families that were there. However, the food was SO good, and it all came out so fast too. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert, but overall, it was a good dinner!"

  • "We've celebrated several birthdays at MB's, always fun choices to select from the menu, and the dessert is always worth the trip. Only complaint is that the service is hit or miss. We've had excellent service and we've had lousy service. Make sure you aren't in a rush to see a show when dinning here."

  • "Food was amazing! Got the Mac and cheese, this was no kids meal! It was amazing! My girl friend ordered a flat bread pizza and it was huge! Enough for people to share and goes on my top list for favorite pizzas. For dessert, the main reason you go there, got a Fondue for Two. We asked to substitute the bananas for some fried ones and they were happy to do that for us and they even gave us extras!! Over all it was perfect dinner. Only complaint the only one would be my waiter took forever to fill my water up went half the meal without a drink but I can't hold that against the over all restaurant!!"

  • "We really enjoyed the meal the kids food was a little price for $9 for chicken finger and fries. But the seasonal Fondue was yummy $22 for 4 so it was the same price as if we all ordered a cake. I have the Brenner Burger was yummy. This was a little Gem to eat with kids before a play. "

  • "I have never had this problem at this restaurant before but I had the most disappointing and terrible dining experience yesterday. The waitress was terrible. It was a party of four and two of them were celebrating their birthdays so I added special instructions to give a surprised dessert for the two birthday people. There was nothing given to us. Here is the list of the terrible service that was provided: The appetizer came out before plates, napkins, and utensils were given. We had to tell her to bring them to us and it took her a while to come back with them. Waitress did not come back once to check up on us, waffle cheesesteak was hard and dry, not eatable. to go boxes were given without bags. "

  • "We were two parents and two kids ages 3 and 6. They waitress made the experience more fun by making the place seem magical to the kids ("yes, chocolate does flow through those pipes, and some times the pipes burst and we all get covered in chocolate!"). The food was yummy and on the larger size. We had waffle sandwiches to be "healthy" while the kids had the burgers and fries. Lacking in veggies for the kids, but you don't come here for healthy! The kids had the two-serving Popsicle fondue. Delicious. Hubby had the Mexican hot chocolate - it had some kick to it! We are definitely coming back. "

  • "My mom and I stumbled into here late after leaving my dad asleep at the hotel. The place wasnt clouded at all and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Euphorira Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Sundae and it was more than enough for the both of us. It has delicious toffee bananas and peanut butter and ganache dipping sauce. I love peanut butter and this was perfect, although the ice cream was a little melty. I may should have ordered different. The waiter got a little less attentive towards the end of the of the visit, but it didnt affect the night too much. Overall I wish we had one near me. ALSOOOO when we walked in the SWWWEET smell of chocolate hit us and it was like we were in a DREAM. ITS IS A MUST TRY"

  • "Came here for the well-known chocolate dessert menu, but hadn't eaten all day so we had dinner first. I ordered the Quinoa and Chickpea Waffle Salad and my friend had the Southwestern Ceasar salad adding chicken. Both were HUGE and were served on a corn waffle. One of the best salads I've ever had. My daughter had the philly cheesesteak in a waffle, which was also awesome. SEriously great. We all had hot chocolate -- salted caramel was good (very sweet) but the spicy mexican was just ok (not spicy or all that tasty). Hot chocolate comes in these handle-less mugs. Very cool. For dessert we chose from the pudding menu and had the tiramisu. Both were excellent. NOt that large, but then I'm not sure we could have eaten any more. "

  • "Went for jbrunch/lunch on Saturday. Food was good but not exceptional. You REALLY need to like sweet stuff. Whoever heard of a biscuit with sugar on top served with milk chocolate sauce and butter...really didn't go with omlett. Their milk chocolate is very sweet and nothing any of us ordered was served/made with dark chocolate not even the chocolate martinis we had for dessert which were overpriced with minimal vodka. Our server was very friendly and did his job well. This is a good place for kids but we all agreed that we would probably not return."
