Masraff's on Post Oak Blvd is a casually elegant upscale restaurant owned and operated by Houston restaurateurs, Tony and Russell Masraff. The restaurant has quickly become a local favorite with it's unique American cuisine and contemporary ambiance. Best described as American cuisine with a touch of Southern Europe, the seafood, fowl, homemade pastas, lamb, beef and seasonal game will satisfy the most discriminating diner. Soon after opening, Masraff's received stellar early reviews, including the prestigious three-star rating from the Houston Chronicle Dining Guide, as well as being named among the ten new restaurants on the culinary cutting edge in the US by The Wall Street Journal. For a delightful culinary experience, dine at the Chef's Table, where the Chef prepares a gourmet six -course dinner of his choosing. The Restaurant, which has recently moved to 1753 Post Oak Blvd from its former location at 1025 S.Post Oak Lane, seats over 200 for lunch and dinner. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My friend and I enjoy dining at the tables by the bar and ordering from the bar menu. The calamari fries and salmon are our favorites on this menu and we also like the mushroom and tenderloin pizza. The desserts at Masraff's are the best overall in the city. Our favorites are the chocolate fondant with creme anglaise, the berry bread pudding (ask them to warm it well), the homemade donuts, and the fried banana split. The manager always recognizes us and stops by. We were both celebrating birthdays and he sent over 2 complimentary desserts. Our waiter was wonderful. We never felt rushed, and he let us sample several wines before we decided on a bottle."

  • "From start to finish, the food was outstanding and the service matched, albeit a bit distracted as the evening progressed (and the crowd grew). Two in our party of four are extremely particular about their crab cakes, anywhere in the country, and both were impressed. Excellent wine recommendations, too."

  • "Love the place, it's the best what more can I say! Great food and service! General manager makes you feel like family and they remember you there, top notch experience."

  • "Masraff's is simply among the top tier of Houston's restaurants. We had our usual favorite appetizers of the garlic-seared calamari steak, flavored with reduced sweetened soy sauce, oyster mushrooms, mild purple onion slices, and the equally fantastic wild mushroom ravioli with truffled lemon sage broth. My wife then enjoyed the lamb chops, and I had one of the best servings of King Salmon I've ever been served. When I informed our server I was not a fan of Brussels sprouts, a substitution of asparagus was made without problem. Wine selection by the glass was excellent and varied."

  • "They have us a fantastic dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. That was special. Thanks"

  • "As much as we love the food at Masraff's (and we REALLY do!), we go on Wednesdays to hear Harry Sheppard play in the lounge. He is an amazing jazz vibraphonist. Blend the music with incredible service and inventive and delicious food, and it adds up to a wonderfully uplifting evening. We requested a particular table when we made the reservation, but sadly, it was not reserved for us. We chose another table and moved it around a bit so we could see Harry better. All's well that ends well."

  • "The staff at Masraff's was incredibly friendly, responsive and exceeded our expectations from nearly every aspect...the only minor challenge was that they didn't have a children's menu, and we were dining with our entire family to celebrate my husband's birthday. They were flexible and tried to make it work, though. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

  • "Been to most of the higher end restaurants in Houston, but this place was a step above most of them. The food was outstanding, the service impecible and the atmosphere was great. Will definable keep coming back."

  • "The service was great...wine recommendation was spot on...My steak was cooked to perfection."

  • "Service was a little over-attentive, especially as it was a business luncheon. The atmosphere was busy, but not overly noisy. We were there fore over two hours but didn't feel rushed at any point."

  • "I was extremely nervous about a potential foreign customer coming to town who I had not had the chance to meet yet. This was going to be one of my best sales opportunities for the year, so I put special notes in my request for a table. I was unsure as to whether they would even be noticed when I showed. They were beyond noticed! The hostess escorted my customer to me because she watched where I went in the bar to wait. The table provided was a perfect, round corner table with little noise for our party of 5. Appetizers recommended were spot on. Patience in the wait staff to time approaches coincided with our business conversation flow. Entrees, desserts, and wine were all devoured similarly. Everyone at the table raved! Brilliant!"

  • "The food was very good, with an excellent presentation. The service was outstanding. Servings were a little skimpy for price. Scallop entree was 3 scallops! That's more appetizer size than entree size."

  • "My wife ordered the Salmon and specifically asked for it to be without the skin, - but when the food came out it was with the skin! My Fillet was supposed to be medium well & came out medium to medium rare. They took it back and recooked it to a crispy tough meat. My brother ordered the lamb chops - the were COLD on the inside - like out of the freezer! Though they prepared another serving, the dinner was already messed up so bad that it was comical. We were beyond complaining. No offer of food comp or even a dessert for the kitchen's disastrous performance. Have to compliment the service. It was exceptional & that only saving grace-reason for the fair rating. Don't know if we will go back or recommend the restaurant."

  • "I came in a few hours before my reservation to pre-select the menu for my wife and I's special dinner. The hostesses (who were great) called back and Mr. Masraff personally came down and gave me a detailed explanation of some choices on the menu and took my order. When we arrived later that evening, everything was already set up, our food came out at a perfect pace, and every course was fantastic. It was a perfect experience for my wife and I."

  • "If you have a special occasion, this is the place to make a reservation. We sat next to a large business group, but they tend to leave early. The place will quiet down after 7 p.m. We had foie gras for appetizer, Duet (tuna & scallops) and swordfish for entrees. Tuna was excellent. Strongly recommended if you are OK with raw fish. Apple pie, crème brulee and espresso ended our delightful dinner, which lasted for 2 hours. My daughter and I shared everything, and extra plates were offered cheerfully. Thank you, Brian for your great service."

  • "This was the frst visit to the "new" location and we were pleasantly susprsed. In the past the service has been vey unpredicatble which we did ot expereinece thi ime around. The food was very good with an extensie wine list o go with it. We asked for a wine recommendation and got one that fit our foo although not memorably so."

  • "The excessive amount of hard surfaces and tables too close together, make it difficult to have a conversation. Food and service were excellent."

  • "Masraff's never fails. The ambience and the service only complement a beautiful space. And it's not unusual for Mr. Masraff to come to your table and say hello. Always a treat."

  • "Good service and food, but I was placed in a "private cellar" room with other 3 tables. Very noisy and uncomfortable seating."

  • "I really enjoy going to Masraff's. Their service is very professional, their wine list fantastic and their food is prepared to perfection with great presentation and mix of flavors. It's a truly gastronomic experience. It's probably my fifth or sixth time there and I plan to come back there soon and I can tell that their high standard has been consistent, which is much more than I can tell for many other places. They are definitely in my top 1-2 list in Houston."

  • "First time in Houston, I was quite impressed by the service from the valet to the wait staff. I adored our wait staff, unfortunately I forgot her name but she was on point from the beginning to the end. The food was ok, my meat (Coffee Rubbed Filet Mignon) was a bit over the medium I asked but it was still good. Will definitely visit again when I go back to Houston."

  • "My husband and I have been here several times, over the weekend we brought my oldest daughter and her PROM date here to eat. It was also her birthday, so they brought out a dessert that made her feel extra special. During this visit the owners came out and introduced themselves to each table. Very nice experience... we enjoy ourselves every time! "

  • "My date had the coffee rubbed filet mignon. He said there was too much coffee on it. He likes the one at Backstreet Cafe better. I had the duet of seared hawaiian tuna and scallops. My entree came with two slices of tuna and exactly two scallops. I left there still hungry. Not worth the $28. And I'm the type to go to Killeen's and overpay for an amazing piece of steak. A friend recommended this place and said their food was absolutely delicious. It's good, but not great. I was disappointed. Sorry guys, but your food did not impress. I am not coming back."

  • "This is easily one of our favorite spots in Houston. The food is always fantastic, and the service is top notch. Jessica (our regular server) provides some of the best service in Houston. She anticipates our every need in advance, suggests off-menu combinations that are fantastic and manages to accommodate every request. The decor is nice, but the only complaint is that the restaurant can get a little loud. Try Masraff's - you won't be disappointed!"

  • "Probably my tenth visit to Masraff´s. As always excellent service, waiters are outstanding. Good wine list and excellent seafood appetizer. Lamb was tasty and very well cooked. At the end Mr. Masraffs himself showed up at the table to ask about our experience (not the first time that I see him or someone from his family do that. I will come back."
