A word from Masraff's
Masraff's on Post Oak Blvd is a casually elegant upscale restaurant owned and operated by Houston restaurateurs, Tony and Russell Masraff. The restaurant has quickly become a local favorite with it's unique American cuisine and contemporary ambiance. Best described as American cuisine with a touch of Southern Europe, the seafood, fowl, homemade pastas, lamb, beef and seasonal game will satisfy the most discriminating diner. Soon after opening, Masraff's received stellar early reviews, including the prestigious three-star rating from the Houston Chronicle Dining Guide, as well as being named among the ten new restaurants on the culinary cutting edge in the US by The Wall Street Journal. For a delightful culinary experience, dine at the Chef's Table, where the Chef prepares a gourmet six -course dinner of his choosing. The Restaurant, which has recently moved to 1753 Post Oak Blvd from its former location at 1025 S.Post Oak Lane, seats over 200 for lunch and dinner. Continued

  • "Excellent meal and very good service, though our waitress needed to "loosen up" a bit."

  • "I started my meal off with the foie gras and this was by far the best foie gras I have had yet. I also had perfectly cooked lamb and if you go here you must try the bread pudding. The bread pudding is very good, but the cream chees mousse that comes with it just might be the best thing I have ever tasted!!! Very friendly and professional staff and it was one of the waitresses who recommended the bread pudding so I give them points for that."

  • "Resturant was nice. Service is good . Choice of food is not that great for the price. I can spend $50 & get a huge ribeye at a steakhouse. $49 for a small bison ribeye not that appealing. Nothing special about this place. Just my opinion . "

  • "Excellent wine suggestion by Sommelier. A thoroughly romantic evening. Waiter was extremely attentive, but discrete. Will return!!"

  • "Restaurant architects are convincing their clients that a noisy ambience is a lively and party-like ambiance. Even OpenTable's worst category for noise is "Lively." Well I disagree, and I believe those same architects are ruining our restaurant experience. On top of that, who convinced the Masraffs of a grey décor?? My God, what were they thinking? Love the food and the wait staff that has worked for the Masraffs for years, but cannot stand the new "experience" and I pine for the old quieter and more elegant location. Regrettably, I will not return."

  • "in general. Everything was tasy but the crab cake was a big disappointment, unless you like crab cake that is just crab with a tiny bit of sauce on the top. Since I prefer a little batter with my crab cake, this wasn't for me. I thought it was boring. However, the calamari was the best I've ever eaten. OUTSTANDING. The bison was excellent but the fish special was, according to my partner, dull. The bread pudding was very good. "

  • "Love the food! The hostess was a little stuffy. It wouldn't kill her to smile. But everyone else was great! "

  • "The place has very good food and a nice ambiance. Although a rather casual place but it is definitively a place to be seen."

  • "Long time night dinner visitor, both with my wife and with corporate events (in the separate rooms). This time, I decided to meet some business associates from out of town at Masraff's for lunch, and was happy to see another side of this lovely Houston gem. Delicious fish special came out in 7-8 minutes -- perfect temperature, flavor and presentation. Just enough food, too. Guests were suitably impressed. Attentive but not pushy service. And I was out of there in one hour. Nice to know I could zip in for a perfect meal... or linger for 2+ hours and feel welcome and appreciated either way. Call ahead to find out when the tortilla soup is on the menu (it wash;t today); the only Tortilla Soup better than Houston's Restaurant is Masraff's."

  • "This was a table of 4 for a business lunch. The service was proper and efficient and not obtrusive. The best i have had in a very long time. Our server was Paula, from Romania. Please ask for her if you want a really nice dining experience. I looked around and the service level was really good around the room. The appetizers were fantastic. Great variety of flavour notes and textures. The Calamari was maybe the best preparation I have every had. The chilled Crab salad was excellent and the Risotto was just right. I noticed the ingredients were high quality - not just a visual fashion show. The mains were very good as well. Could not ask for a better lunch experience."

  • "The entire experience from beginning to end was perfect. It started with complimentary valet parking. The greeters were extremely nice. This was our first time at the restaurant and we requested a nice romantic table. They sat us in a semi private area near the wine display. Our waiter greeted us promptly and made three wonderful suggestions. The wine, appetizer, and dinner entrees were just as good as he promised. My wife and I will definitely visit this place again soon."

  • "Had not been to this restaurant in a while. It did not disappoint. Appetizer of calimari and risotto was perfect. Michael was an excellent waiter who provided great suggestions for entrees. Venison and snapper were delicious. We were not rushed and were able to have a relaxing dinner. Overall a wonderful evening."

  • "The risotto, the fish, the meat, the service, the whole scene is fun for conversation be it social or business. I find myself drawn to reserve a table as soon as I begin to consider a place for dinner. You can smoke a cigar outside at a table after enjoying a very satisfying meal. The chief is truly extraordinary and the vibe is electric."

  • "Massraff's was recommended to my husband a while ago, and we decided to visit them for his birthday. I mentioned his birthday when I rsvp'd online, but didn't bring it up to the staff while checking in or during dinner. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. The atmosphere was comfortable and the food was great. They surprised us by offering the dessert on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate, so they went the extra mile to make it special from the note I left online. We will definitely include them in our list of fine dining restaurants."

  • "Masraff's is the epitome of a foodie's dream restaurant, with dishes like Onaga, Wild Bass, Bison Ribeyes, and (my favorite) the Butter Poached Pear Creme Brulee. And their extensive wine list and amazing sommelier made it easy to select a wine just right for any wine drinker. The service is impeccable with the waitstaff being attentive, but not overly so. Overall, Masraff's was an amazing experience and definitely a restaurant I would love to go back to!"

  • "The food and service is outstanding. The only thing I noticed this time was it was a bit noisy in the dining room with the windows. And furthermore, sitting facing (even though not directly) the window with my guest across from me, it was difficult to see my guest because it was so bright behind him. Consider whether some type of shade could be used to cut down on the glare."

  • "I pass this restaurant all the time and had heard it was good. My wife and I popped in after making a reservation 15 minutes prior. It seems huge and the noise level was high. People were dressed casually, all of which surprised me. The menu was varied and our waiter friendly and knowledgable. The service was prompt and the food did not disappoint. One of the owners came by everyone's table to introduce himself. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I expected it to be a little more refined and more romantic. We will definitely go back as we had a fine experience. I think I'll enjoy it more at lunch, when the hustle and bustle won't affect me."

Even the place was crowded, we felt comfortable and we had space to walk and move freely. The place is kind of expensive but it worth it."

  • "We go to Masraff's to hear Harry Sheppard play in the bar. The amazing food and service, along with Harry's music and energy, always make it a delightful experience. We shared the bison filet this time and I was blown away. I generally don't eat much red meat, but I will have that again and again. It was incredible."

  • "I met a good friend here for lunch. He had been once before and loved it and I have been several times and love it, too! We both had the fish special and it was fantastic! For dessert, as it was my friend's birthday, we had the chocolate eruption and the doughnuts. Let's just say we walked away stuffed! Our server, Claudius, was wonderful and we learned he used to work at Charivaris, so that explains why."
