  • "My husband and I were visiting in the New Hope area and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local. We were pleased beyond our expectations. The restaurant is in a church in the downtown New Hope area and we were seated in the "sanctuary." The ambience is so unique. Our meal was exquisite and the service was superb! We will definitely look forward to returning when we go back to the area for another trip. You will need a reservation."

  • "Second time visiting Marsha Brown's and once again was not disappointed. Beautiful ambiance inside a former church. Staff was very attentive and made some suggestions that were very good. Although my meal was delicious (shrimp/salmon over grits) our appetizer which we shared was amazing. We had the Crab Cheesecake and I would go back just to have this again. It was incredible and my guest said he would have just ordered that and a salad. Creme Brulee for dessert was good also. Would not have been my first choice but my guest wanted that and he wanted to share. Definitely a great restaurant for a romantic meal and nice that after walking around New Hope for several hours that we got to end the day with a wonderful meal."

  • "We treated my mom to a night out at MB's for her birthday. We had a lovely time. The atmosphere was very nice, food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The menu including wine list is on the pricier side (everything is a la carte as well), so be aware of that. It exceeded my expectations. Will be back for a special occasion in the future!"

  • "It has been several years since I last dined at Marsha's. Our first experience was not that great. Food overly priced, rude waiter and noise level and seating arrangements were not good.This time, seating has changed. Food was deliciious and plentiful for the price. It was not crowed due to the awful weather so I am unsure how the acoustics would have been with more people. Overall a very nice experience and I will go back in the near future."

The food is absolutely delicious! Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection. You cannot go wrong with dining at Marshal Brown's for anything from tonight's supper to a special celebration."

  • "went to Marsha Brown after hearing about it from a friend. It wasn't hard to find, the converted church on Main St. Our mouths had been watering ever since we looked at the menu on line. Everything was perfect, and our party of 5 had appetizers, entrées and a huge lobster! We just had to. We spent a little more than usual, but every bite, slurp and crunch was worth it."

  • "The location, in an old church, is truly remarkable. It takes your breath away. It's a little loud, but you get used to it. The service was nicely attentive. We had a group of 8 with many ages represented, but we were all well cared for. The food was mixed. Some things were outstanding ( the lamb lollipops, crab cakes, crawfish risotto, crab ravioli, chopped salad). Others were ok (crawfish bites, pork chops, gumbo, jambalaya, steak). Nothing was bad but there were variations. Overall a really fun birthday dinner."

  • "Went Friday night of restaurant week. Seated at 7:15, had to find server at 9:00 because we still had not received our salads. Dinner arrived at 9:45. Service was horrible! Server never came to the table to apologize for the slow service until he presented us with the bill. It seemed as though most of the tables around us were having the same issues. You would think with restaurant week, MB's would have know the number of reservations and been more prepared! Very disappointing."

  • "This is a very special place. We go every year with a group of friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food is wonderful, the restaurant itself is a beautiful place to dine. We love it!You must try the shrimp and crab cheesecake appetizer. It alone is worth the trip. All of the dinners are delicious and they have a great wine and martini list!"

  • "The first time I went it was during lunch and it was great! We went on an off time so service wasn't a problem. For dinner, the service was pretty slow, but that might just be how they do it there--plus they were busy. The food/wine makes up for it though. The downstairs and upstairs are very different but both are really cool. Upstairs is really open and there is a huge painting on the wall which gives it a nice vibe."

  • "After listening to a very over rated Waiter talk about how much knowledge he has in his work we waited 45 minutes until I told him we did not even get our first course yet. This was a special night with a four course meal. Most restaurants would have had their third course out by now. Once he realized this he immediately ran to the kitchen to serve us a overdone pasta appetizer. The second course was a very skimpy salad, although the main course was delicious the fourth course desert was not even worth the effort. Overall I think the special four course meal offered during restaurant week was not worth the special price."

  • "We are big Marsha Brown fans which is why Friday night was so disappointing. Attentive, professional service is an MB staple but but not tonight. Daniel (our busboy) the best employee of the night brought great warm bread. Things then went downhill. Our waitress said things were "a bit backed up". The fried wonton that had been sitting a bit. Inside was hollow except for the tiniest shrimp and a tiny mass. MB"- Meatloaf is not best thin and dense. Two pieces of 1/8 inch graham cracker sized underflavored meat sat atop wonderful collards. Coffee arrived, no request to ask if anyone wanted more-which we did) And this was better than the couple next to us who waited and waited and thengot all 3 courses in about 15 minutes. Not happy."

  • "We have enjoyed Marsha Brown's regularly for many years and brought friends each year to dine during Restaurant Week. On Sunday evening, we had a very disappointing experience. Our waiter was very attentive but everyone else seemed to be going thru the motions. The food was average and the main course was delivered cold to slightly warm. The dessert was basically thrown on the plate. We didn't receive their signature baked bread but rolls from Giant. Do they really want Restaurant week diners? Hopefully, this review will help them correct their ways. My wife and I will dine again at Marsha's due our past positive experiences but our friends are definitely not interested."

  • "My family and I go to Marsha Brown often (we live just across the bridge). Our prior experiences have been great. However, Sunday's outing was fair at best. We usually get the lobster. They were out of lobster. My daughter had the crab ravioli and was happy with it. My husband had the scallops and said the dish was okay. I ordered the jambalaya, but got some dry version of something that definitely was not jambalaya. It was extremely dry and overloaded with sausage and not much else. I'm not sure if we'll return. I ate two spoonfuls. The server asked if I wanted to take it home and I said absolutely not. To that there was no further inquiry."

  • "This used to be our favorite restaurant. The service has gone downhill. It started off with us being served cheap cafeteria type rolls and they said they were out of their normal bread. It took an hour and a half to get our dinner but our children's meal came out right away so our daughter got to wait over an hour until we got our meal and then watch while we ate. When we asked if the waitress could check on the meal and told her we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to get home to have cake she said "oh that's why you're impatient." Meanwhile, we got to watch while three tables around us came and went. We were not a big party. It was four adults and one child, with no complicated menu items. I don't think we'll be going back."

The only negative is I thought the noise level was very high and you sit very close to other diners. If you want a romantic dinner ask for the Half Moon tables where you can sit side by side."

  • "I've been eyeing this place for a while, finally found an excuse to go to. The entrance led us into the first floor bar with mood lighting and bar tables, as well as friendly hostess and servers. The upstairs dining area was surprising! What a renovation with beautiful decor, very romantic. The service was excellent and food was outstanding, we wish we had the stomach (and pocket) to sample everything on the menu. On a busier day it might get noisy due to echo though."
