  • "I was a little skeptical after reading some of the reviews yet ultimately, decided to go. Glad that we did. We decided to have the chicken dinner for two and it was excellent albeit a little salty. Cooked to perfection though. Sierra, our server, was excellent. Top marks to her. Very prompt and friendly. Service for us, was not slow or with attitude. Thanks Sierra for enriching the MF experience. Great neighborhood gem."

  • "A restaurant with the appearance of a laid-back attitude masking indifference to customers and mediocre food. Our party, which included a very pregnant woman, was made to wait a half-hour for its reserved table, without any apology from the hosting staff. Moreover, the food was passable but largely indifferent. The veal roll we had could have been spam from a can. This restaurant is always booked solid, which is more a reflection of the lack of adequate restaurants in TriBeCa than a testament to the quality of this enterprise."

  • "We visited NYC for our 26th anniversary, attending 3 shows and and 2 iron chef restaurants. We were delighted at Marc Forgione's- the dishes were interesting, flavorful, beautiful, and unique. We chose all appetizers rather than mains to have a wider array of dishes, and were not disappointed. The service was flawless, attentive but not intrusive, helpful and polite. We could easily hear each other- which is nice for a romantic dinner. Highly recommended!!"

  • "The only thing bad about the food was the fact there was not enough of it. We Ordered the veal tortellini as an app, it was delicious but the order came with only 4 small pieces for$18.00. Hanger steak and pork porterhouse for entree . Again food was great but again not enough to fill you up. Load up on the bread. Service was ok, would not return ."

I knew what I was going to order but they surprised me with a special outside the menu (they called it a lobster chilli) that was outstanding. Everything was great, including meeting chef Forgione himself. Amazing experience."

Whenever I see Skate on the menu I must try it; well this was the best preparation I have had yet and my wife loved her lamb dish too. Marc is always surprising us with his new dishes and that is why we return as often as we can."

The sommelier is fantastic, down-to-earth and recommends wonderful wines - thank you!!! Service was wonderful. Save room for the 10-minute chocolate chip cookies!! Thanks for another lovely meal.   • "I took my fiance here after I asked her to marry me. I made reservations early enough and mentioned that we'd be celebrating (if she said yes, which she did). When we got here, we were greeted as if we were royalty. Management came and asked how everything went and gave us complimentary champagne. Our waitress was AMAZING and could not be better. The manager gave us extra attention throughout the night and our dessert came with an extra congratulations written in chocolate on the plate. The food...if you know who Marc Forgione is then you know you're in for a great meal. Perfect portions, tons of flavor and so much ingenuity in the dishes. Definitely will come back :)"

  • "Me and my now fiancée went to Marc Forgione for my birthday. I have done reviews for this place before and always talk about the food because it has never failed to disappoint me. This time how ever I would like to talk about the service. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about every dish she served us. I never felt like I was being talked down to if I had a question. I also never felt rushed at all. We did the Chefs tasting menu so there are 7 courses, they never rushed us to get the next dish out. My fiancée mentioned in passing that it was my birthday and when the dessert came out they put and candle in it and wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on the plate. I know its small but it also didn't have to be done at all."

  • "We enjoyed a delicious meal here. The room is lovely, ambient, and glowing with candles. The food here is amazing! I had their famous fluke (staple item on the menu) and my husband had the veal. The sommelier made suggestions for wine pairings for our different courses and he picked wonderful wines and shockingly didn't just go for the most expensive options. Save room for the 10-minute chocolate chip cookies!! Not sure what went wrong on the serving side because the restaurant was not full? We had to ask for menus, our wine didn't show up until halfway through our mains, and of course we had to ask for the check. Hopefully this was just a one-off experience because the food is stellar and even makes up for mediocre service. We'll be back!"

  • "We arrived early for a 9:15 reservation knowing we wanted to spend some time at the bar for drinking. We checked in and found our way to the bar which was hopping but we found a seat and ultimately found enough together for our party. Drinks were great and the service was fun. 9:15 came and went and we were never called at 9:30 we were told that our table would be ready shortly, like ten minutes. At 9:45 we were seating and then we waited again until we got our menus. We knew we wanted the tasting menu and that was not given to us and the servers disappeared so we couldn't even ask for it. Finally we got someone and we got to order. That all said once the food started coming it was terrific, a beautiful dining experience. Wonderful!"

  • "We always come here for any major celebration because we always have a memorable, delicious meal. This is our favorite restaurant in NYC. It's the best meal from start to finish. The best dishes are the kampachi appetizer and the halibut or fluke in proposal sauce--consistently amazing. We just had the veal tenderloin, which was life changing. Their interpretation of s'mores is also incredible!"

I highly recommend the Fluke in Chef's "proposal" sauce - apparently the Chef has been proposed to on 3 different occasions because this sauce is so tasty! Impeccable service with magnificent food.   • "We booked this restaurant to celebrate birthdays and I was glad we did. My only complaint was that the lobster chili for $34 was not worth the price tag, in spite of multiple raves on various review sites. If you share the chicken, split an appetizer and dessert, you can actually eat here reasonably. The service was impeccable, both the wait staff and the sommelier really went the extra mile to enhance our dining experience. In addition, our dining companions were late for our reservation but we were not rushed at all, even though we must have delayed the later reservaion I will definitely return."

  • "Based on great dinner reviews, I thought this was an upscale restaurant and booked Sunday Brunch here, but it is WAY to casual. Think local crowd in baseball caps and jeans nursing a Saturday night hangover with Bloody Mary's and Fried Eggs. Menu was creative and executed fine, but I am old school when it comes to Brunch and wanted a food "experience". Our server could not have cared who we were and certainly could not deliver a serice "experience" if he tried. He was aloof, mechanical and better suited for a diner car, chewing gum and yelling at "Mel"."

  • "Celebrated my wife's birthday on a Monday night. We were surprised by a glass of champagne on the house and a nice birthday cake at the end. Took the 8 course teasing dinner with fresh (!) truffle and matching wine. Not a bargain but exceptional quality of food. What impressed us most is the creativity those dishes were prepared with, be it the ingredients, spices or presentation. Absolutely special - one if the best places in the City"
