Diner Reviews
  • "A great spot, situated on the shore of Lake Oswego, but right in the middle of lots of small specialty shoppes. There was a decent variety on the menu and the food was delicious. Our wait-person was friendly, attentive, but not hovering. All in all it was a nice evening out."

  • "We ate at Manzana here in Lake Oswego on Friday. Parking in the underground garage was a snap. Our reservation was honored upon our arrival. The wait person was attentive and although prime rib was not on the written menu, she advised that it was available. I ordered it and when it arrived it was accompanied by a large, sharp knife. When I tried to cut a piece, it was the knife vs the meat and the meat won. It was so tough it was nearly inedible. I pointed this out to our wait person and she offered another entrée which I rejected. When we left, we took the prime rib home and offered it to our dog. The meat won that round as well. I don't understand how a kitchen staff would allow such a meal out of the kitchen. We were most disappointed."

  • "Our waiter was great attentive but not over bearing! The food was great! Try the roasted artichoke!"

  • "This chain and this restaurant in particular has no character to it when you walk in. You might was be in line waiting for a TSA agent."

  • "Their specialty is their rotisserie chicken which is moist and flavorful. I could eat everyday! The service was great and very helpful. I was able to make a substitution without any problem or extra charge!! All done with a smile!"

  • "This is our place to go for a special night out. The menu has a good variety of items so it is easy to please anyone. I almost always try something new because I like different food items my wife doesn't very far from what she likes so this place works out great. My wife also likes her desserts and the chocolate banana pie is her absolute favorite and I like it too and we always have to end the night with that one even though all the other desserts look good too the pie is really hard to beat."

  • "Imagine a Red Robin. Now, turn down the lights and turn up the prices. You've got Manzana Grill. Birthdays all around, mediocre food...with the exception of the cilantro rice: AMAZING! Felt abandoned by our server...we will not be back."

  • "Great food as usual. All three of us had something different, and all were very pleased. We even had dessert--the key lime pie. It is great--not too sweet. The natural tangy taste of the key limes comes through in this pie. A little too much whipped topping on it, but that is easy to take care of.'"

  • "I have never been disappointed at this restaurant and this was no exception. The greeting is friendly, the service superb and the food fantastic! I can't say enough about the restaurant. Keep up the good work."

  • "Two of us had barbecue items, one a southwest chicken salad. All were good, but somehow the chicken salad wasn't up to its usual taste. Some of the sparkle of that salad was missing. For someone who hadn't had the salad before, it still was a good salad, but something seemed to be missing. It wasn't the GREAT salad you've served before."

  • "This is one of our go-to spots for food any time -- lunch, dinner, brunch on weekends. The staff is always friendly and the menu changes enough to keep things interesting."

  • "The food was good- They offer a table prepared guacamole that we were excited about WELL- the preparer brings it to the table ( the tray is too high up ) so its not prepared at your table but on a tray- so you cant see a thing...well ok it gets worse- the preparer doesnt say one word- completely ignores us- no hello no thank you- no enjoy it ,its really great- completely disinterested and divorced from human communication- puts it on the table and leaves- not one freakin word!!!!!-------train your staff to communicate if just a bit!!! the ironic twist is we werent even interested in eating the guacamole by the time we got it---presentation and a hello mean something- the guacamole was fantastic tell your staff about it!!!!!"

  • "First a non food item. There needs to be toilet paper in the restrooms to attract customers. One booth was totally out, other booths had almost none.Do you do periodic checks in the restroom? Before when I've been here, the paper towels have been missing totally once and overflowing in the waste can at least once. Sorry to put it up here, but it won't fit down below. The salad I had was tremendous. It was the rotisserie chicken, south west salad. It was huge, and I kept eating instead of taking half home and I usually do to big salads just because the taste was so outstanding. The waitress was great."

  • "My wife and I have eaten there many times, and this is the first time I got a very poorly prepared meal. It was also the first time I ever ordered that particular item. It was a chicken salad (rotisserie chicken is their specialty) and there was virtually no chicken in the salad and it was really underdressed ... very dry. Our waitress never came by and never checked on our table. Lack of good service has been a problem the last few times we were at this restaurant, and I hope it doesn't become a trend. On a cheerful note, my wife and I are repeat customers and have a good long term track record ... this is the first bad meal for me ... but my wife's lunch was excellent as usual. The bad part is the trend to poor service."

  • "This restaurant has never let me down and this was no exception. The greeting was warm and inviting. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Management was present and added to the feeling of being a valued guest. And the food, oo la la! Don't miss trying the tortilla soup as it is special!"

  • "When there is a night out that needs to be special this is a nice place to go. My wife especially likes the desserts here and I have to agree they are very nice. We both seen the oysters on the appetizer section and had to have them and they were very good. We really like it here and will return again."

  • "Mazana was a great place for good food with reasonable prices. Start in the bar for a Happy Hour drink and salad and then headed into the main dining area for our dinner. Had a great time celebrating our 10th anniversary. Their hostess was very friendly and made a great first impression."

  • "I have had lunch here many times and will continue to return for the food and the service. They always accommodate me with items that are not on the menu, such as a small fruit salad. They are friendly and the location is great. After lunch it is fun to stroll through the little shops nearby and parking is so easy in the nearby free garage."

  • "Food was great - a mix-up in our reservation, apparently. i made the reservation via Open Table for 5. I called them and changed it to 8. the person i talked to had to check to make sure that was ok. came back and said it was fine. got there and they only had a table for 5 - NO other tables available unless we wanted to wait over an hour. they ended up squeezing all 8 of us into a table for 5, with two of our party sitting in the aisle. i understand mix-ups happen, but they told us it was our fault - our reservation was only made for 5. kind of frustrating."

  • "We had errands to run in Portland and once again began our busy Saturday at Manzana's for breakfast. The food is consistently good and service is always top-notch! We enjoy the ambiance which is especially quieter in the morning. As always, we feel nourished & ready for whatever the day holds after starting our day at this great spot!"

  • "We have eaten here many times before and can honestly say we have never been disappointed. The food was great (esp. the veggie burger!) and the staff and management are very attentive and interested in your satisfaction. Can't wait for the good weather and patio to open again!"

  • "It really was gorgeous, but the staff seemed so uptight. Sneering and gossipy about one another, and the waiter took ages to check upon us. It took about forty five minutes for him to stop and check on us after we had pushed our dinner aside. However, it was very romantic, and the food was exquisite. May do again, just not frequently."

  • "The service at Manzana was great this Valentine's Day. Normally holidays like Valentine's are hard to find good service because no one wants to be working on a holiday. Especially one like that. This year I was pleasantly surprised to find that our waitress was extremely nice and courteous. She also seemed like she truly wanted to be there and help. Wonderful experience."

  • "My wife ordered a steak rare. As the server delivered it she (the server) commented that it was medium and did we want her to go order another. We had no time for that. I ordered French dip with French fries. The fries were not hot or even warm and taste and texture was of fries that had been made well in advance of or order. They were terrible and we're not eaten. The meat in the sandwich was good except for a large piece of gristle that made one entire slice inedible. The au jus was luke warm at best. This place seems to be into high volume in a neat location but they are not into quality food."

  • "This was our first visit to Manzana and after our experience, I can confidently say it will not be our last. We had a number of questions about the dinner and drink menus and the server was extremely knowledgeable. We ended up deciding on Rotisserie Chicken and the New York with a calamari appetizer. Every dish was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. After dinner we made our way to the bar, where we ordered a few more drinks and watched the Blazers game. I also must compliment the restaurant on the 90's playlist they had going in the bar area!"

  • "We've eaten many times at this Lake Oswego location with family and friends. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere always upbeat. This time my husband and I were on a 'date night' had the Baby Back Ribs for the first time. They were amazingly good. The meat just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. But it is the sauce that makes them great … sweet and tangy. Be sure to order the spicy beans (rather than the french fries) which are also exceptional."

  • "We had been here before, but we found this place great for Sunday brunches. They feature a full breakfast menu along with a full lunch menu. There were three of us;; one had lunch and two had breakfast menu items. The omelet and the fritatta both were excellent.I don't remember what the lunch item ws, but the woman eating it thought it was great, too."

  • "Just not impressed. Seemed crowded and too busy for the space. Food okay, but not anything terribly special. Our server was on the spot and aware of us and our needs. Meal was expensive for what you got....even a hamburger was over twelve dollars. I probably won't go there again."

  • "Our request for a quiet booth was honored, our hostess attentive & on-the-mark with each request and even some she simply anticipated without us asking. We ordered something different this time -- my husband had the rotisserie chicken, I tried the lamb. Both were excellent and his portion so huge it made another 2 meals. Our only 'complaint' was some of the guests brought rather noisy children whose banter and squealing made listening to one another and relaxing a bit challenging. But we realize restaurants can't always guarantee their patrons' kids will behave. That said, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the hostess' attempt to seat us in a quieter section. We'll be back, for sure!"

  • "Loved your online booking reservation options We brought our staff there for our years end holiday dinner! It was on 1/10/14 Friday evening. The reception area was not adequate for the number of diners checking in or waiting to be seated. Weather did not permit outside waiting either. The two small alcoves on either side of the entree were not usable, one had a stroller parked where seating was available, the other had a table with a few promotional items on top! It took and uncomfortable amount of navigating through people to find a person to check in for our group of seven reservations! Once, inside hostess very efficient and friendly. Atmosphere very welcoming but too noisy!"

  • "For years Manzana was our favorite. My husband loved the Filet Mignon and I loved the BQ Wood Fire Grilled Prawns and pork tenderloin with cider sauce. Unfortunately, this was our last visit. The menu is not the eclectic more Mediterranean menu, it's now got jalapeno in over half the dishes - so if you don't like jalapeno those are out. My husband ordered the special - a pork chop which was so tough it was hard to cut with the knife. He gave me a bite and I had to chew and chew. I ordered the pork tenderloin which was tender but had some Mexican sauce on it that I did not like and scraped off. We just both walked away and said well that's it, we're done with Manzana, it just is not the great place it once was."
