Diner Reviews
  • "It was very good, fresh and very fast. The server was very nice and the recommendation where excellent. The chicharrones de pollo and the lomo salteado the best almost like if you where in Peru but better, and trust me I was in Peru many time"

  • "We visited Mango during the downtown restaurant week when they had a special 3 course meal for $25. I loved the beef heart Anticuchos Corizon--I even gave a taste to my husband who liked it, too. I had the Salmon, and it was the best salmon I have ever had. Our server was terrific. Can't wait to go back."

  • "If you're looking for a unique dining experience, Mango is a great place. Food was delicious and wonderfully presented. Small portions but definitely worth the price. I had the salmon and it was fresh, perfectly cooked and the sauces were perfectly matched. My wife had the shredded chicken and it was good, but was comparable to chicken and dumplings, so nothing spectacular. We were there for restaurant week, so menu was limited, but we look forward to going back to try the other menu options."

  • "This is a wonderful restaurant with consistently good food. Often viewed as a restaurant catering to the convention trade, it should be on the list of everyone in St Louis."

  • "I really enjoyed their unique menu. I ate food that I would never have the opportunity to eat elsewhere. I would highly recommend this to a friend!"

  • "Always great to find something new - New entrees, new taste, new ambience. Mango is a fun change of pace from the never ending list of American cuisine, Italian, steakhouses, and seafood. Terrific service. We were there for St Louis Downtown Dining week and were very impressed by the limited menu. Can't wait to go back for a regular sitting!!"

  • "My guy and I had dinner here during Downtown Restaurant Week and it was wonderful. The staff was all very friendly and the service was quick. We loved the feel of the place, with all of the exposed brick, wood beams, and low lighting."

  • "WE have been to Peru and enjoyed the cuisine. This restaurant brought back pleasant memories. We had 3 course dinners. Mashed yucca appetizer and potato appetizer were excellent. We both had beef tenderloin stir fry which used very good Peruvian spices. Desserts were very tasty. And, the , of course, serve several mixed drinks using Pisco. The sour is our favorite. A restaurant to return to."

  • "Love their bar, and the food is fantastic. They do a great job. Try the lomo saltado."

  • "I really enjoyed my meal. I would say the flavor profiles were not classic Peruvian- i would say Peruvian inspired, but definitely through the lens of a more bland Midwestern palate. Cocktail menu was creative and interesting. Overall, it was a welcome change of pace from more standard restaurant fare."

  • "The food was interestingly presented and tasted fabulous. This venue has a very appealing atmosphere and service was great."

  • "Our family visits Mango 3 - 4 times per year, usually to celebrate special occasions. We cannot restrain ourselves from partaking of multiple appetizers and entrees as well as Dessert. The sangria is fantastic! Our teenage children will not allow us to leave without ordering the Pionono (sponge cake with carmel filling). Go to Mango at your own risk - you will become addicted and return repeatedly!"

  • "Mango impressed me this weekend. You wouldn't have known from the food quality and the service that we were their last table of the night. A leisurely, safe walk from the Peabody at 11 pm, we were welcomed from our arrival. The steak was superb; the chicken soup was great (and served "old man hot" as requested...a new expression/inside joke for us). And, our server was great."

  • "We went to celebrate a birthday, and I really appreciated the personal touch of confetti on table and customized menu's with birthday girls name on them."

  • "We enjoyed their Peruvian Independence Day special which was prix fixe. It was a great value as the food, as usual, was outstanding. The service was prompt and server knowledgeable about the menu. The Arroz con Mariscos was especially good."

  • "We took our out of town family to dinner at Mango, with ages ranging from 12 to 67. Everyone found something to like, which is not easy for diverse palates; and everyone had a good time. What's not to like when Pisco Sours, and variations thereof, are readily available."

  • "This the the best Peruvian food I have eaten outside of Miami. The quality and flavors are amazing. Keep up the great job. I will visit again on my next trip to STL."

  • "The food was delicious as always! I brought my 10-year old neice to expand her dinning experience. Our server "Tony" was great and made some spot on suggestions as well as showing her how Peruvians eat empanadas! She enjoyed it and ate requested her leftovers for lunch the next day!"

  • "I started going to Mango when it was located in a strip mall in Shrewsbury. My husband & I fell in love with their savory food, colorful culture and beautiful family. Mango is our go-to restaurant for a romantic evening, family dinner and especially entertaining guests from out of town. Mango never disappoints!"

  • "The food and drinks were incredible. Loved the vibe and decor as well. I'll be back without a doubt. My only complaint would be that the server brought our check before we were finished, which I wouldn't have expected from a place of this caliber. A busser also asked to clear our dessert that we had only taken about three bites of. We felt like we were being pushed out."

  • "Food was excellent, Service was great! Very friendly waiter and professional. Would go back again and recommend"

Our food was very good as well as the service. Also, they had an extensive wine list. I would like to return for dinner sometime in the future."

  • "Have been to Mango before, but this time we took friends who are 'newbies'. They loved it. Interesting and delicious varieties of foods and spices combinations. We all had small plates and shared. We were very pleasantly full. Waitress was delightful and attentive. Mango is on the "Repeat" list."

  • "I have been to mango 3 times now. The menu has been different each time and the food has been exceptional. The service has also been really great with each visit. I really enjoy this place - I'd definitely recommend checking it out."

  • "This has to be one of the best restaurants downtown. Their food is consistently excellent. Great beer on draft, excellent cocktails. The ceviche is always good. I had the fish special which was done very well. Finished with a double espresso for dessert. I've not been disappointed."

  • "This was my first time at Mango. I had heard about it from a friend who recently dined in and they said it was amazing, so of course I had to try it. The night I went, was for my boyfriend's birthday. When we got there, we sat at the bar for a drink. We both ordered Mojito's...and they were delicious! We were then taken to our table. When I made the reservation, I told them if there was anything special they do for birthdays, I would love to do that. At our table, there were little streamers on it and the 'special' menu for that night said HAPPY BIRTHDAY across the top. It was so cute! The food was absolutely AMAZING, and I really don't believe there could possibly be anything bad on the menu. I will definitely be back to try new things!"

  • "The flare subsided and I could taste the rice and scallops and shrimp and mussels. It was a fantastic meal with sangria and plantains, too. The cheese platter was alright; the warm bread was an unusual pleasure paired with the cheese. We asked for a bowl of mango for our kids and they accommodated willingly. There was no room for dessert. The service was spectacular."
    Dined on 6/9/2014
  • "Service was very slow but it was to be somewhat expected - there was a large conference I town and the restaurant was inundated. Mango is right near the conference center, so should have been better prepared for the crowds. Other than that the food was great and our waitperson was delightful."

  • "We had an overall excellent experience. The hostess and waiter were friendly and accomadating. The waiter was knowledgeable and provided great insight into the entrées."

  • "The was food was very delicious and presented in a very appetizing fashion. We ordered several tapas plates verses an entree and each one was was very good. Our server was very knowledgeable and able to give us direction on what to order since this was our first time there. We were there on a Friday night on a non-Cardinal game night with reservations at 7:15pm. The restaurant was not busy then but by the time we left at 8:30, the place was filled!"
