- Beach girlNicebitesDined on 8/21/2014Dinner was exquisite! Especially recommend the short ribs and the warm foie gras. Service was thoughtful and presentation lovely. All in all, it was a perfect meal. We shall return.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Makes any Occasional a Special Oneuflaw82VIPDined on 8/21/2014Every now and then, it is good to be reminded that there is a difference between eating and dining. Maison Blanche matches a professional wait staff with beautifully plated and well-prepared cuisine. During this first visit, the wine list included a few of my favorites at only about $20 over what I've paid at retail - in essence the corkage fee that I've paid at other fine restaurants that allow BYOB. While the activities at the other tables showed this to be a special occasion restaurant, it also made for a memorable evening for a recent dinner with friends. We'll be coming back.Special Features:
- DisappointedCal62VIPDined on 8/16/2014We were expecting a dining room with a view since it's on the beach but instead we had a view of white curtains. Also, as first time diners, we asked the waiter for recomendations - he said "it's all good" and then smirked and added "I guess that doesn't help much." What we wanted was some better descriptions of the food items than the menu offered. The menu stated there was a $4 charge for shared plates - be warned that applies to appetizers and desserts, not just entrees. To be fair, the food was well prepared but it certainly did not live up to the expectations created by other reviews. We've had much better meals at many restaurants near our home in Winter Park, Fl. So, we will not be returning to this reataurant.
- Amazing!KBS4Dined on 8/16/2014This was our third visit and we can't wait to come back again. This is amazing french food with a florida twist. The soufflé for dessert is my favorite.Special Features:
- Fathers Day OutMarvinVIPDined on 6/14/2014My wife took me out for Fathers day we had the shrimp/Lobster Pasta on the Fix Price Menu with appetizers and dessert. The meal was great. My only disappointment was in the very limited selection of wine by the glassSpecial Features:
- Superb dining experienceindulgeDined on 6/7/2014Beautiful décor, innovative table setting, excellent cuisine and impeccable service.Special Features:
- Love this Place!HappyDinerDined on 6/1/2014By far the best restaurant on the Gulf Coast. If in the area, Maison Blanche is a must for a "foodie" dining destination. If not in the area, it is certainly worth the trip. Derek BarnesSpecial Features:
- Exquisite!CaitlionDined on 5/25/2014'Exquisite' and 'delicious' sound flat when used to describe Maison Blanche -- it is truly a memorable dining experience that I recommend heartily. The care that is put into all of the dishes extends to the atmosphere to the restaurant itself with beautiful centerpieces and good service. It's one of those places where you can be adventurous with your dining options because it's all going to be delicious.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- SpecialDeParisDined on 5/16/2014Maison Blanche holds a special place among Sarasota restaurants. In a class of its own when it comes to "class". Not pretentious, not ostentatious, but simply very very good food in a beautiful, quiet setting, with excellent service.Special Features:
- Best food I've ever hadgaylordDined on 5/16/2014Went there for our 33rd year anniversary after seeing it on Emeril's show on good Florida restaurants. Victoria was our waitress and she was incredible. Attentive with great suggestions. The food was exquisite, especially the Suckling Pig. Would go again in a heart beat. A little hidden gem in Sarasota.Special Features:
- OutstandingFLFoodieDined on 5/15/2014We had the most incredible dining experience at Maison Blanche. The atmosphere, service and food are beyond compare. Not one course stood out as better than the other because all were outstanding. Starting with the saffron rissotto with muscles; the main course of short rib in honey ginger sauce with a side of whipped potatoes and ending with the apple tart with apple sorbet.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Maison Blanche is a jewelAliceDined on 5/11/2014on Longboat Key and the Sarasota area. The staff is welcoming, the setting is minimalist and sophisticated, and the food and wine are outstanding. Maison Blanche is a lovely place for a special evening.Special Features:

- High Praise - Hidden GemTheSeriousFoodieDotNetVIPDined on 5/3/2014There is nothing like this restaurant in our area - and it probably the top restaurant in FL. Chef Martinez has incredible credentials, working with some legendary French chefs - and his technique and presentation reflect his experience. Each item is meticulously prepared, and the service is what you would expect from a high-end restaurant - and we especially enjoy the hospitality of Chef Martinez's wife Victoria. We selected some of the chef's specials: octopus, fois gras and risotto (appetizers), and the most amazing piece of beef - a roasted, bone-in chateaubriand. The beef was moist and silky, with a deep rich flavor. We selected a 2008 Staglin cabernet sauvignon - a very hard to get bottle. It was a bottle to remember forever.Special Features:
- Best Restaurant in SarasotaMartinDined on 4/27/2014We have dined here several times and have always found the food, service and ambience to be outstanding. We think this is the finest restaurant in the area and take our special guests there for a true dining experience.Special Features:
- Superb as usualLucy34860Dined on 4/25/2014I have eaten here many times. The food and service are always spectacular. Brought three friends that had never eaten here before and they said it was fantastic and exceeded their expectations. The best restaurant in Longboat Key!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Back for the third timeBubbaDined on 4/23/2014This is the best restaurant (food, service, ambience) there is in Greater Sarasota and maybe even Tampa. Nothing more to say. Except the service is high quality but NOT snooty - friendly, warm, but respectful of your privacy.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Oui ChefCHFJBDined on 4/22/2014Excellent meal, great service and sophisticated decor. We felt like we we're dining in NY. Suckling pig was perfection.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Amazing again!KBS4Dined on 4/13/2014Our second visit and it was even better than the first. Our server, Martin was attentive and knowledgable. His wine recommendation was excellent (and one of the cheapest options on the menu)! The food is amazing, worth every cent. Save room for soufflé.Special Features:
- hidden gembluelambDined on 4/9/2014This restaurant never disappoints. You will feel like you are dining in a 5 star French restaurant. Sauces are light and inventive. A must dine when in Sarasota area.Special Features:
- Elegant RestaurantMikeFLCTDined on 4/5/2014My wife and I shared a special occasion. We had heard little of Maison Blanche, but is one of our friends favorite. I can understand why he is so impressed. We decided to use the Prix Fixe Menu. There were many different choices, but you are also allowed to take any plate of the a la carte menu. Each dish was excellently prepared and presented. The mine that we paired was from a well known vintner and moderately priced. Our server was expert on the dishes, knowing the dishes and preparation. I would highly recommend Maison Blanche for a special occasion. The only drawback was the ambiance that has very tasteful décor, but is muted with a white drapery surrounding the room. This was not a big deal, but I would enjoy a Gulf view.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good food, noisy table next to usDinerduDined on 4/4/2014Sadly, terrific food was overshadowed by the conversation of the table near to us. I guess luck of the draw was not on my side, that night.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- WonderfulOpenTable Diner Since 2010VIPDined on 4/4/2014I am a Chef from Indianapolis and worked at The French Laundry and did a lot of research to find a great date night restaurant while my wife and I were vacationing in Bradenton Beach. We had an unbelievable time. One of the best meals we have had. I only wish I could have thanked the Chef personally.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Unexpectedly wonderfulDoubleffsVIPDined on 3/30/2014We were in Longboat Key for a week and decided to try Maison Blanche. We felt like we were in Paris with Chef in the kitchen and his wife, Victoria?, running the front of the house with amazing skill. Not a huge menu, but what there was, was "cherce". It has an elegant quality and, once you're inside, you see why it's named as it is. Can't wait to go back next year.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Superb plus plusBruceDined on 3/27/2014Best meal in Sarasota, probably Florida. Unique versions of classics done superbly, to the point that each dish is exciting. I was joyously stunned by every detail.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Should have tried sooner!JumpinJDined on 3/27/2014Wonderful experience and tastes! My husband absolutely loved the 1st course veggies, a big surprise for me. . I loved everything. Decor is fine. I can say the ladies room was very up to date. Plan to visit soon as we had a great experience.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good but overpriced.bradentonVIPDined on 3/21/2014We travel to Longboat at least 3 times a year and we are always game to try something new. This was our first visit and we thought the food was very good, portions were small but reasonable but overpriced. The two of us ordered one starter to split, a fish entree and we each had 2 drinks. Our bill was over 160.00. There is no view as you are eating surrounded by white sheets with no windows. I don't want to sound harsh but for the price, there are better locations to choose from on longboat key. We will most likely never return unless there is a special event.Special Features:
- We have been going to MaisonOpenTable Diner Since 2007VIPDined on 3/21/2014We have been going to Maison Blanche a few times each year for most of a decade for special occasions. The food is wonderful and the service impeccable and warm. It"s the best restaurant in Sarasota, bar none.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Consistent over the yearsBellVIPDined on 3/20/2014Consistent over the years with excellent food, service and ambiance.Special Features:
- My wife and I are semi-regularsTARatkoDined on 3/19/2014My wife and I are semi-regulars at Maison, meaning we go there everytime we get to our place on Longboat Key. Maison is a very small, intimate space with no view outside - the focus is inside, and rightly so. The food is wonderful - I've had nothing I wouldn't recommend, but am very partial to Chef Martinez' black truffle risotto, cochon du lait (suckling pig) and simply, chocolat - a molten chocolate cake dessert. My wife loves the roasted ribeye steak, USDA prime and cooked to perfection with a mustard peppercorn sauce. Chef uses 80% or more organic ingredients locally from Florida. He had one Michelin Star in France. Emeril recently taped an interview and show with Chef Martinez that was picked up by Food Channel to air this fall.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Winner again!Foodlover1VIPDined on 3/13/2014We go every time we are in the Sarasota area because of the best French food and service. Just very elegant in all respects, again!Special Features:
- Our favorite resturant on LongboatMaggieVIPDined on 3/13/2014So good.We just love this wonderfuResturant which caters to yourevery desire. My husband has had heart problems and can't eat dairy.Chef caters to his every whim.Sometimes, I feel his food is even better than mine somtimes. This food is as good as you can get anywhere on the world. My only complaint is that the chairs are uncomfortable .Sweet Martin ( our excellent server) tries to help with a pillow, but it really doesn't " do the trick".Special Features:
- Best food in LongboatToddDined on 3/12/2014Great food, service, and wine list. Odd location but worth seeking out.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Excellent as usualLucy34860Dined on 3/12/2014We have eaten here many times when on vacation and the food and service were superb as usual! This last time we were a group of 6 and everything was prepared wonderfully. Waiter is always knowledgeable about pairing wines with foods, describing dishes etc. Dinner here is always the highlight of our week!Special Features:
- AMAZING FINDmikieVIPDined on 3/11/2014We saw the restaurant on one of Emeril's food shows. And thought we'd try it out the next trip to FL. We drove from the Tampa area, but well worth the trip. Our experience was perfect.....delicious food, ambience and service.Special Features:
- Sarasota's Finest DiningAbbyDined on 3/7/2014At Maison Blanche, my wife and I have enjoyed the finest dining experiences we have ever encountered locally, in our 30 plus years in Sarasota. We discovered this upscale spot several years ago and are loyal patrons to date. One feels comfortable and relaxed being surrounded by elegance, yet simplistic, modern design and décor within the dining areas. The attention to detail by every staff member during service, is well beyond one's expectation. Every entrée brought from the Chef's kitchen to the table is a model of perfection and a delight to the palate. I won't spoil the fun by revealing the menu items. It's something one must experience for themselves. It's well worth the short drive onto Longboat Key. Respectfully, Ben & PatSpecial Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Excellent FoodDustin941Dined on 2/25/2014Typical rude French wait staff, but I encourage you to endure it for the cook-to-order exceptional food. Each amazing dish had an equally outstanding sauce. Portions are small as expected so be sure to order your own appetizer and share with the table. Overall great experience and I will be returning. The only weird thing is when you are celebrating a birthday, they turn up music and disrupt the entire restaurant. Kind of like a high-end TGI Friday's. LOLSpecial Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- ExcellentNo3putzDined on 2/25/2014The food was to die for. Small menu but flawlessly prepared and served. The restaurant is located in a hotel however not affiliated with it. Own entrance but location was initially a turn off until we got inside then all was good. If you are looking to celebrate a special occassion or want a romantic date. This is the place!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Wonderful food, beautifulChemmanDined on 2/18/2014Wonderful food, beautiful presentation, elegant decor. Just a little too crowded. Tables were close together. The chairs would have been comfortable for a living room but were not good for eating dinner.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- OutstandingbitsandpiecesVIPDined on 2/13/2014We visit Longboat Key three or four times each year. Maison Blanche has become one of the restaurants we make sure to visit. The tomato tart appetizer and apple tart dessert (served with an apple sorbet) are both favorites. My husband's grouper or snapper was delicious. My pasta with lobster and shrimp in a lobster bisque sauce was good. The lobster pieces were tough, the only small disappointment in a very lovely evening. The wait staff is outstanding.Special Features:
- Le Bon VivantOpenTable Diner Since 2007VIPDined on 2/12/2014Maison Blanche is an example of the good life. We selected the Prixe Fixe menue consisting of a starter, entrée subbstituting a mesclun salad fordessert. The Foie Gras terrine was smooth and full of flavor, My braised sweetbread entrée was tasty and served with a beet puree. The hit of the night was the suckling pig. The skin was crisp as it should be. The meat was tender and tasty. Our salad was fresh and lightly dressed. We selected a French Bordeaux that complemented both entrees and starters. There might be 25 tables in total, Reservations are definitely a must. Our server had a heavy French accent that added to the experience. It reminded me of upscale restaurants that I have eaten in when in Paris. A definite come back to place!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
