This is a fun place with live music on weekends. The food is great, and the wine list is extensive. The spinach salad is probably my favorite menu item, but it's a large menu and there are so many wonderful choices. The servers need more training, but they are very friendly. Make a reservation, especially on weekends, as this is a small place and they fill up quickly. Street parking. Local art (for sale) adorns the walls and changes monthly.

What a surprise!!! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Mainly Drinks. Our only disappointment was that our salad was as if it were made the previous day. The entrees were superb as was the dessert. The wine list was fabulous.

My wife and I along with our daughter and grandson celebrated our wedding anniversary. I made the reservation online and afterwards was concerned that my four year old grandson would be with us. I called the restaurant to check on this and the young lady that answered was very sweet and said there was no problem bringing my grandson. That taken care of, the evening was great. Our waitress, Melissa, was great. She was very knowledgeable about the restaurant, menu and wine. The meal and dessert was perfect. The noise level was kind of high but this is is a very comfortable restaurant and all of the patrons there seemed to be enjoying themselves. It may be possible the restaurant may need to add to their wait staff. A group came in and we did have to wait for coffee and drink refills. Melissa did apologize for this but did a great job. The entire staff was very pleasant and warm, smiles all around from start to finish. This was our second visit to this restaurant and we will return.

My husband and I had made reservations two weeks before based on recommendations from several close friends. We were very disappointed to been seated in the far back room upstairs next to the kitchen door. It felt like we were placed in a time out room. In fact, the couple who sat behind us said the exact same thing and were moved. We stayed in that room since our server was so kind and attentive, we didn't want the risk of having somebody else. The Food was GREAT! As were the beers and wine. The reason why we rated this place POOR and WILL NOT recommend this restaurant to anybody is for the way in which the owner spoke to her employees. She used inappropriate language and made my husband and I both feel very uncomfortable.

This is my new favorite place to eat dinner. Love the atmosphere and the food is outstanding. The beef tenderloin and the bread pudding are my absolute favorites. Thursday nights are fun with free wine and beer tasting and good music.

Very much enjoyed our dinner at Mainly Drinks. I had been there for lunch before but not dinner. The food was great and also loved the music of Jeff Lopez. He has a wonderful voice and sang songs that we all knew. It made for a very memorable evening with our friends. We will definitely come back!

After viewing the web site, we decided to try this restaurant and get out of our rut of going to the same places. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and our server was very good. Received a warm welcome when we walked in. Fortunately we had reservations as the place filled up pretty quickly after 7 PM. Seemed like a nice spot where the locals would come. Enjoyed live entertainment towards the end of our meal. Would definitely go back.

We enjoy good food and wine, especially if it's close to home. We made our reservation for 6pm Sat., somewhat last minute, but we were ahead of the crowd...it did get busy shortly after we got there. We were seated immediately by the hostess (owner?) who also came by after dinner arrived to see how everything was. Our waiter, Brian, was wonderful. Hubby had the chicken fried steak, I had the crab crusted salmon and both were delicious. The menu has a lot of options for a small place...can't wait to try something different next time. We definitely will be going back and highly recommend it. Open Table is great too! :)

The seafood cakes are amazing. The broccolini is amazing. the chicken fried steak is the best chicken fried steak ive ever had. Most of the food is good. Ive eaten a few things that seemed to be store bought or "inexpensive" tasting (tortillas, tuna in the ceviche, crackers for the cheese.) The owners are very nice and accommodating. The waiters however seem to have no idea how to manage their time. I always end up leaving happy because of the food, but to get a glass of water always seems to take 30 minutes. Definitely give this place a shot because i love this restaurant, its so close and La Porte deserves a cute place to eat. I just hope their staff has better training soon.

Mainly Drinks is a wonderful little restaurant with a great chef and a delightful owner. Live music on weekend nights, a great wine and beer selection, and a variety of local art on the walls (and for sale) make this a unique local spot that is gaining notice outside of LaPorte. This place fills up even at lunch, so make a reservation.

Open Table's chef is amazing! The Spinch salad is a must-have and the wine list is extensive. Sometimes service is "iffy", but the food makes up for it. Bottles of wine line the wall and owner Deb can help you choose something you will love. Live music on weekends make for a fun outing.

My family of 6 went to Mainly Drinks to celebrate my daughter's birthday on Saturday. There was live music playing in the downstairs section, but because we wanted to be able to talk over our meal, we opted to sit in the upstairs room. It was perfect: cozy and quiet, allowing us to converse in a normal tone of voice, but we could still hear the great music from downstairs. The crab-crusted snapper I had was excellent, and my daughter's Italian meat pizza was delicous as well. The service was good and friendly.

We tried this restaurant on a whim for our anniversary - mostly because it was close. Wow! It was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time! Although on the outside the building looks very early 1900's inside it is clean and contemporary. The hostess suggested that we sit upstairs because it was quieter - a great suggestion. It felt almost like a private dining room. The food was outstanding. We started with a shrimp and tuna ceviche with avocados and an intriguing sauce. Then a crabmeat crusted snapper that may be one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. The service was excellent. I can't say enough good things about this place. It will certainly be on our regular list from now on. You really need to find this place!

The name suggests that this is a place for drinks, but it is actually a very good restaurant with a fine food menu which happens to have a good assortment of beers and wines. Featuring the welcoming friendliness of a neighborhood hangout (which, I guess, it is --- I was visiting from out of town), Mainly Drinks is suitable for a romantic dinner (with live music!) of such items as tuna tartare, caprese salad, steak, and cheesecake --- all prepared to perfection --- with a loved one, or a group get-together with top-notch hamburgers, fine fries, and beer. I will definitely return for more!

I reserved the table "opposite of the bar between the two entrances by the window" but was given the table by the bathroom. I should have said something but we were pretty bummed. Otherwise the food was amazing as always. Except the tuna in the ceviche tasted like canned tuna when eaten alone, but my seafood cakes and sides were amazing. Definitely coming back but next time I will call and make sure I'm getting the table I want, I'm sure it was my fault for not explaining well enough. Also, sometimes the waitstaff are very slow with filling drinks and removing used dishes. The food is so good that it's not too big of a deal but I would talk to the staff about being more attentive since we usually spend a good amount when we come. Thank you!
