  • "Great twist and accompaniments to traditional Southern dishes without being too "overly" with sauces or flavors! Scallops and fried green tomatoes were amazing starts. Fried chicken and Pork chop were superb. I opted for the burger due to a daily craving - was hoping for something a little more 'wow' worthy but the meat was great. Great ambience and neat cubby hole restaurant! Definitely recommend!"

I had the fried yardbird and my husband had the pork and peas and we were very pleased with our meal and will be back soon because we live down the street!! Definitely a neighborhood gem!! Oh and our waiter seemed tipsy and sweat a lot, not sure what that was about... First night? He became completely overwhelmed when a large party sat in his section and we had to get things from other servers. But it won't stop us from returning."

  • "This was my first visit and I was invited by a dear friend. I didn't like that the restaurant does not have a sign posted for parking. We parked next door in the parking lot and had I not inquired, our cars would have been towed. We had to get up from the table and move our cars across the street in the hospital parking lot. Also, I did not like the atmosphere. The restaurant could use a fresh paint job that doesn't look like an old saloon. I ordered a burger because their was nothing else on the menu I liked. I don't east burgers, but the burger was very good. Our waiter service was good."

  • "Lucille's was recommended by a colleague. She specifically said not to miss the chili biscuits. After reading some reviews about the slow and bad service I was concerned but not for long. Jane, our server was terrific. In fact the two tables seated after us asked for her. The food was served quickly (maybe a little too quickly) and hot and very delicious. We had the chili biscuits, shrimp & grits and fried yardbird. I highly recommend Lucille's."

  • "Took my dad for Father's Day... Had reservations for 1:00pm was not seated until 1:45. Once seated my waiter was wonderful. The food was great. Given a lot of food for one person. Fried green tomatoes were great. Loved how crunchy the wings were!"

  • "I took my husband to Lucille's for brunch on Father's Day. I already knew what to expect since I had dined there before so I knew that everything is cooked to order. Some of the other diners were very impatient but it is common to have a wait at a restaurant even if you have a reservation. The food was good as usual. I can't wait to try them for dinner."

  • "This was only our second time at Lucille's and it was just as good as the first! Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food, and great service! You have to stay for the lime tart...which was out of this world! The scallop appetizer was also superb!"

  • "I am never disappointed in Lucille's food. The grouper with its delicate lemon honey cream sauce on a bed of kale and a johnnycake alongside fresh tomatoes is one of the best fish dishes anywhere. The fried green tomatoes in a light batter are also worthy of mention. But while our server was pleasant, we got very little attention. The crowd was light, but it was a long time before she came even to offer drinks. It also took quite a while to get our food; fortunately it was hot and fresh when it arrived. We hardly saw her throughout the visit. Lucille's prices just keep going up; it's gotten rather high. I'd assume that the wait staff gets large enough tips from the resulting bill to work a little harder at serving."

  • "Once again, Lucille's did not disappoint foodwise. My companion enjoyed his seafood pasta special whcih was very abundant, though a little pricey for lunch. the watermelon feta arugula salad is delightful but the charge for shrimp was a bit steep. $18 for a rather small salad?"

  • "I've eaten here several times. My last review indicated unorganized staff and poor service. This time I arrived for my 6pm reservation and there was no confusion and I was promptly seated. The grouper entree was very good. However, this time the service was actually intrusive. I had my "regular" waiter who was checking on me and refilling my beverage, but then, sometimes right behind him, a woman server would come up, interrupt my conversation with my co-diner, and ask if everything was ok. The first couple of times I didn't mind but it kept happening. I don't know if she was a manager or quality control person or another waiter, but it made it difficult for me to have a pleasant conversation with my friend."

  • "Went to Lucille's for brunch on a recommendation. I was not impressed, I had the wings and waffles, there was nothing special about this dish the waffle was a plain out of a griddle with 3 pcs. of wings sprinkled with powdered sugar. I had better at Golden Corral. My friend had the shrimp and grits which was tasteful but lacked flavor. Our waiter was great at our side when ever we needed anything. Don't think we'll be going back. "

  • "Very nice little place tucked away from the hustle and bustle. I had heard such good things about the chili biscuits that I was disappointed in the size and although worth trying I would not order these again. The fried green tomoatoes however were excellent, lightly breaded and fresh not frozen with a tasty aioli dipping sauce. I ordered the oxtail sandwich and found it bland and overcooked bordering on chewy almost like beef jerky. My wife ordered shrimp and grits and it was marginal. The only area where they shine is the desserts are fantastic and the Lemon Torte is divine. Three of us ordered coffee and they charged us $18 for 3 coffee's. Expensive lunch with marginal results. "

  • "You may not hear about Lucille's with every other upscale, foodie restaurant, but that may be a good thing. It's like a secret, hidden gem. Soul food, southern flare, Louisiana touches, this place is worth going to. No long lines. The wait staff is knowledgeable, friendly without being over bearing. The food...order anything, you will not be disappointed. If fact, I just told my waiter to bring me anything. I couldn't decide. My waiter delivered the oxtail entree. Amazing. Their signature dish is the yardbird and the rolls. If you love bread pudding then don't skip dessert. We felt like we hit on a place that we don't want anyone else to find out about and, yet, that would be wrong to have people miss out on a fabulous dining experience!"

  • "They prepare unique dishes that you wouldn't commonly find in other restaurants of this sort. I was tempted to call them a neighborhood gem. But, the service was so poor. The dishes are good, albeit mostly comfort food. I thought they had an interesting take on eggs Benedict. My son had french toast. But, the presentation left a lot to be desired. My daughter normally loves chicken. But, she shied away from this. We asked the receptionist if we could get some ketchup for the kids fries (she was standing idle, and occasional walking over talk to the bartender). It appears she relayed this information to our waiter who showed up fifteen minutes later to ask what was it we needed. By then, the kids had given up and gone outside. "

  • "Food: wonderful. Setting: lovely. Service: needs work. Prices: off the wall. Online reviews say their orders got confused, and they were right. People who came after us got their food before our order was taken. The hungry (and screaming) child next to us waited forever and then was served the wrong order. I must say the food was excellent once it finally arrived. But $13 for a glass of prosecco that cost $12 for a bottle at the store? $6 for coffee? Lucille's, this was our second visit. I don't expect to be back."

  • "I found the bench soiled with grease from the previous diner, clearly no attention to detail. Fried fish and chicken plates were good. Make sure your vascular system can take the salt load. Ambient noise was quite loud even when restaurant was half empty, in part due to the background music playing all the time. I can never figure why music is necessary in restaurants. "

  • "I really want to like Lucille's, especially since I live so close to the restaurant. I've been at least 4 times and the food has always been good. During my last visit the service was prompt at first but then dismal. After I finished courses, waitstaff would occassionally stop by and maybe pick up on plate but leave other dirty dishes and items on the table. There wasn't a manager on duty. I walked in exactly at my reservation time of 10am Sunday and the staff in the restaurant were surprised and were asking each other, "what time do we open"? It was awkward. I will commend the restaurant on serving very generous and tasty portions, but I really want an overall great dining experience and it's just missing here."

  • "Very small plates for a big price. Went for lunch with a group of ladies and most of us ordered water (being health conscious) which did not please our server. His attitude changed almost immediately after the drink order. The fried green tomatoes get rave reviews, but being a southerners, we've all had better. One lady in our group ordered the scallop entrée - 4 small scallops for $18. Will not return, not impressed."

  • "My husband and I entertained another couple for brunch at Lucille's after church. Our reserved table was immediately available and we were greeted promptly by our server. We were a little disappointed when we found out we couldn't order from the regular menu however, once we received our brunch plates, we forgot all about that. :-) We will be visiting again. "

  • "It was a beautiful evening and I called ahead to ask if we could sit outside, our hostess said "of course, you should never miss a beautiful night!" We arrived and our server was quick with the wine list and waters. It was just a nice night...don't miss the little chili biscuits...Yum! We all enjoyed our entrees of fried chicken, grouper and the pork chop special. Next time I'm trying the shrimp and grits."

  • "Our first time experience was unfortunately unforgettable. We had 2pm reservations for Sunday brunch on Mothers Day. We did arrive about 30 min early, but didnt get seated at a table until 2:40 pm (seating for 4). The hostess did a terrible job of managing the guest seating. I noticed some families leave after waiting for an excessive period, as well. Our waitress was fabulous and provided excellent service and attention during a busy shift. I dont intend to visit again, which is unfotunate, because the food was uniquely delicious ( oxtail omellette, shrimp and grits). The fried catfish was sold out by the time we ordered our meal. "

  • "I had a reservation for the Mother's Day Brunch, and we waited 1.25 hours before we were seated. The Receptionist clearly had seated parties who had not made reservations. The manager asked me several times whether I had a reservation. When I showed him the confirmation on-line, he asked me what was I showing him. I told him that he had asked me no fewer than three times whether I had a reservation, about which he did nothing. When we were finally seated, I had to remind the manager to get us some water!! We also had to ask for additional drinks. Moreover, the overall quality of the food was not as good as we have had on previous occasions. Lesson learned-do not make reservarions and expect them to be honored at this restaurant!"
