Diner Reviews
  • "Great food. Service was excellent. I enjoyed the crispy chicken livers over polenta appetizer. The polenta was out of this world! My husband liked his bruschetta with tuna. My pork chop Milanese was huge and delicious. My husband scarfed down his wahoo entree. We both had The key lime sorbet, although one portion was enough to share. We'll be back!"

  • "Michael Symon just plain gets what makes a restaurant GREAT! Don't miss this place when in Cleveland."

  • "Had dinner with friends. Only one Pinot Noir in the menu. Service was ok but not stellar. Thought that the value if the meal was not worth it. Maybe I was expecting too much. With all of the great restaurants in Tremont, I will go elsewhere."

  • "The menu had something for everyone from picky age 11 to adventurous 55, and everyone loved their selection. Appetizers were particularly unique and delicious -- the grilled brussel sprouts were a hit even with the picky teenagers. The wine snob in our party was excited about the wines offered. Our server could not have been more welcoming and helpful. At the risk of showing my bias, as an establishment of a well-known chef, I was impressed that not a single staff member was condescending in any way."

  • "Fried Brussels Sprouts? Cured Meats? Bone Marrow? Fried Chicken Livers? Fried Pigs Ears? I am surprised there wasn't any Burger King french fries or McDonalds hamburgers on the menu. If you want to eat healthy stay away from here. We are not health nuts by any means, but we do not want to go to a nice area for dinner and drinks and eat fat. The staff is very friendly and do their best at all times."

  • "I used to love them. Was my favorite restaurant in cleveland. We had an all around bad experience. Stuck us in the window with a bunch of loud valgur drunks. After the finally moved us, service was below average. Pork chop was deep fried and raw and the place was freezing. Pasta was fabulous."

  • "For all the hype, thought the food would be outstanding instead of above average (maybe outstanding for Cleveland). Perhana(sp) cheese app was a huge dollop of cheese that would have fed 4 people (tasted good but wasted food), chicken was excellent, asparagus was good but over grilled, Brussels sprouts were swimming in so much vinegar you couldn't taste sprouts, trifle dessert was just a mason jar with sponge cake-whipped cream-strawberries (not special at all). Liked the restaurant's layout and service was very good. Decent wine list and specialty cocktails. Compared to Mario's and Bobby's concepts in NYC, Lolita is above average and doesn't stand up to their excellence. Place was very busy so am sure Mike is making money."

  • "The directions I got from Lakewood to Lolita's didn't take into consideration the closed bridge at Columbus and we spent the next 20 min. taking the driving tour of Ohio City, the Flats, you get the picture and neither one of my daughters had their phones with them. We couldn't contact the restaurant and arrived 35 min. late. Understandably our reservation was given to someone who evidently knows how to get to the restaurant. Your hostess asked us to wait until she could see if you could accommodate us and we were seated on the patio. We had a great time and are very thankful for all of your efforts."

  • "Charcuterie is the best in Cleveland. Get the Big Board. The Brussels Sprouts are always great. Entrees were very good. Front of the house hostess stand warm and welcoming. Our server had difficulty with basic requests and seamed to barely do the minimum to "get through" our dining experience."

  • "Michael Symon rocks! Everything we had from our wine to appetizers to dinner was awesome! Unique and flavorable food - the flavors come alive in your mouth! The brussel sprouts are so amazing - we placed an order to go! Great time with my husband and met some very nice people next to us and our nephew showed up there also!"

  • "Have wanted to visit a Michael Symon restaurant for some time. With a concert at The Nautica Pavilion in the plans for later that evening I was delighted to find Lolita so close by. Both myself and my date chose the walleye dinner. The fillet was a generous portion and thick enough to retain its moisture. Quite flaky with the hint of crispy skin that added a nice texture to the succulent flesh. Set on a bed of smashed peas and mint, topped by a burre blanc sauce and fresh greens, this dish was a winner for us! I did have a difficulr time choosing which dish to get as they all sounded wonderful. I will go here again!"

  • "My siblings and I and spouses all came home to Cleveland to spend a weekend with my aging parents. My mother has always wanted to go to Lolita's so 8 of us (including my father with a walker) had dinner there on a busy Friday evening. The staff was very accommodating of my father's slow pace. We shared 5 different appetizers (which were fantastic) and then split 4 entrees between all of us. Once again the staff was very accommodating of us doing this and gave us extra plates and silver, etc. and helping us move stuff around table and clearing plates as they were emptied. They also let us take our time and didn't push us. It was fantastic and not really all that expensive for me."

  • "My husband and I were visiting Cleveland for the weekend. I was looking forward to dining at a Michael Symon restaurant and it didn't disappoint. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed everything that we ordered. The roasted bone marrow appetizer was absolutely delicious. I ordered the walleye which was the 'fish of the day' and loved every bite. The flavours were outstanding. I will remember this meal for a long time, one of the best I've ever eaten. The service was good, our waiter was knowledgeable and very friendly and warm. The price was very reasonable and I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We were celebrating a special occasion and, having dined at Lolita in the past, we knew we would have a great experience in all ways."

  • "The food was superb--so many unusual and tasty combinations. The service was friendly and solicitous, without being intrusive. What was difficult was carrying on a conversation--we literally had to shout at one another. On top of that, there was a very loud table near us and voices just echoed in the place."

  • "So sad....The Lolita burger is gone. I hope this great restaurant finds a replacement for it. Their happy hour list is really small without it. It has to have a meat replacement quick! DJ bartender makes our time great each visit."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants. We took a family group for the great food, neighborhood, casual relaxed atmosphere. Never disappointed. We had a new server who struggled a bit, but all enjoyed the experience."

  • "Lolita has a really fun menu and the food is fantastic. The service was also top notch. My wife and I visited on a Saturday evening before an Indians game. Great night!"

  • "Hubby has wanted to come here for a long time. Surprised him for our anniversary and we were not disappointed! Food was great and I LOVED the desserts! The hubby loved the pig ears and feet and the fried brussel sprouts. The strawberry rhubarb trifle was so refreshing and the hazelnut brownie cheesecake was decadent and silky but not too rich. I think we'll be back next year for our anniversary. Worth the 2 hour drive. We live closer to Detroit so we want to try Roast next. Our server Sue was great! Thanks for celebrating with us!"

  • "Visiting from Wisconsin so we had great expectations. From the first step out of the cab and into the neighborhood, we were totally pleased. There were four of us, all ordering different starters and sides. There were a couple of items we would not repeat but most were sensational. I personally recommend the muscles. They were succulent with delicious toast to soak up the mild pink creamy broth. Perfect! I also loved the fried bone marrow but it may not appeal to everyone."

  • "We thought the food was very overpriced and not that good. We had the pork chop and the roasted chicken. I can make both of them better at home. I'm NOT a chef. My husband also had the asparagus. He said I can make that better, too. :( If we are in Cleveland again, we won't return."

  • "Michael Symons Lolita Restaurant is one of the best in Tremont. We have dined there several times and have never had a lousy meal. They are always consistent with food preparation. If you love comfort food and have not dined here I highly recommend you give it a try. Don't forget to make reservations though because they are always packed."

  • "This was my second visit to Lolita. The first was one of the better meals I've had in the last couple of years. This visit, while still excellent, was somewhat disappointing. Let's start with the good. The fried brussels sprouts were incredible and this dish is still one of the top ten I've ever had. It just explodes with flavor without overwhelming or being too heavy. The crispy pig tails and ears, particularly the tails, were also fantastic. The rabbit risotto was good, but not in the top tier of risottos I've had. Now for the not so good. The quail was overseasoned and the romesco was almost nonexistent. The asparagus was borderline flavorless. Overall, I'd still recommend Lolita, but this recent visit didn't live up to the first one."

  • "Great to be at a top notch restaurant with superb service! Love that the atmosphere is relaxed and casual but that the food is so crazy good. I thought I loved LOLA, well I love LOLITA as much. Took a group of 8 for a low key birthday dinner and everybody left happy."

  • "My reservation was made by a friend in his name .We were early for our reservation and was greeted by a very gracious host. The restaurant was more than half empty 6 tables at best, we were seated in the bar area and it took our waitress more than 10 minutes to greet us. We placed our drink and food orders at the same time. 2 minutes later we decided to change one of our dishes we ordered, I could not find our server. Eventually went to the host who helped us . Drinks took 25 minutes, which in my opinion was unacceptable . We were never offered a second drink not sure if you offer Bread none was served. Our back waiter was exceptional The food was absolutely delicious and worth it, best Pork Chop ever!"

  • "The food definitely lived up to expectations. It was excellent and portion sizes were large. Based on reviews, I had higher expectations for the service. Open table/restaurant texted when table was ready. Yet we and another couple waited 10 minutes at the door to be recognized by anyone--didn't mind waiting but being ignored by the staff was annoying. Not a busy night either. Then we were seated in the middle of the restaurant in a walkway despite plenty of open tables. And the wait staff would periodically bump my chair. Would I go again? Absolutely. The food was that good. But the little things that make your experience and help decide whether to bring the important people in your life were lacking."

  • "A charmingly casual place with a relaxed pace and interesting dishes. The bruschetta with tuna was outstanding and other dishes were beautifully presented with lots of fresh ingredients. The wait staff is knowledgeable but not obnoxious. Complete meal or just appetizers and sides will be equally satisfying."

  • "Me and my wife decided to celebrate her birthday here... And we didn't make a mistake... We made reservation, got out table on time and our server Matt was awesome.. Food was amassing, we started with 2 appetizers got a special bruschetta ant the bone marrow, and for our main course we got the quail and the risotto... Amazing.. No comment. Will recommend to try"

  • "Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was expertly prepared. Waiter let us sample the macaroni as an appetizer and it was excellent. The walleye was tender and full of flavor. We had a very good reasonably price Cotes du Rhone. The service was a bit slow (we had to call a waitress over to take our order) but the meal was delicious."

  • "Had a really good experience here while visiting Cleveland. The place was a little hard to find for us out-of-towners, but it was worth it. Staff was really friendly and helpful. We had the Lake Erie walleye, which was one of the tastiest preparations of fish I have ever eaten. Also, we tried the crispy pigs ears/tails--really yummy. Don't pass up dessert--the rhubarb/strawberry trifle is a perfect ending. Only disappointment was the brussel sprouts. My friends and I thought they were just too vinegary."

  • "So delicious!!! Everything we ordered was wonderfully flavored, textured - just a delight to eat. The pork chop had the most crunchy breading, while being moist and tender inside. The brussels sprouts were terrific. If you love good, intensely flavored food and a lovely ambience, this is the place!"

  • "We took our adult daughter to Lolita to celebrate her birthday. Had a very enjoyable evening. A very vibrant restaurant. Did think the cost is a bit pricey for the portion size. However, I get it! That is what fine dining is. Would not go there on a regular basis due to the prices. It is great for "foodies." Did not enjoy my bone marrow this time as much as the last. Walleye was wonderful with an incredible sauce. And then it is Michael Symon's restaurant - what better reason than that for going!"

  • "My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary and it was just awesome. The food, decor, everything... They even surprised us after dinner with gelato for desert with blue and pink candles in it for our anniversary, very Cool!! The only negative, it was a little hard to find but to be fair, there was a couple detours from road work. We would definitely go again!!"
