Locanda Positano - San CarlosProper pasta, seafood, and wineI am not a fan of large chains and when I see the owner working the room I have a better feeling about the restaurant. I have come several times and I always see them working the floor and greeting tables. You know the staff in the kitchen are not going to try to butcher grandma's recipes with a watchful eye. The noise level is a little loud for intimate dinners but a great, vibrant atmosphere great for small groups or for catching up. It is a nice mix of twenty somethings and forty pluses who are mostly child free but children would be fine (it is noisy but the wait time is a bit longer for your food). It isn't a big place and it is always bustling. I haven't had a bad meal. Energetic atmosphere.I've eaten at Positano a couple of times and really like the food. It is very good and flavorful Italian food with creative menu items that are very tasty. The staff is energetic and friendly. It's a small place, so it's a bit crowded inside. Each time I've been there, there's either been something that is on the menu that is no longer available or different than listed, and twice now I've ordered a specific wine off the wine list, and they've substituted something else (more expensive) saying that they're out of my original choice. I keep going back, since these issues aren't significant enough to stop me from going there or miss out on their great food. I recommend giving it a try for either lunch or dinner.
