Diner Reviews
  • "I hosted a dinner for some out of town friends last weekend. The service was impeccable and food was excellent. The executive chef called me personally after hearing that one guest had special dietary needs. This has never happened before in any other restaurant. The servers we're professional and very diligent in accomodating everyone. We had a wonderful time."

  • "Fantastic food, didn't charge us a corkage fee when we brought in our own wine, excellent food and during the week you can have lunch for under $10. Excellent food and service, also at Lido! :)"

  • "My husband and I love great food and a special dining experience. We have traveled out of our area to San Francisco or the Napa Valley because we know those places are a foodies delight. Well after a fantastic dinner, with a breath taking sunset and service to match, our travels will be to our local gem! Don't know how we overlooked this diamond right in our own back yard! Highly recommend this Resturant for a special occasion or a date night out away from the kids.A great place to dine alone or with friends. Our new "FAVE"."

  • "Even on a cool April evening this experience consisted of ocean view at sunset with patio heater Fabulous waiter serving great martini's, appetizers, fresh wild caught sea food and to die for dessert. What a wonderful 35th anniversary experience."

  • "Lido has outstanding service and food! They offer the best most modest priced brunch on the central coast!"

  • "Had a great experience here previously, but on this occasion we were disappointed. They were out of the featured ingredient on the highlighted first entrée, drinks were delivered very late, as were such items as additional butter and Parmesan cheese. The restaurant was not crowded which heightened our disappointment. We had touted this restaurant to another couple we had brought there and they and we were less than impressed. I may give it another chance, but not with another couple."

  • "We go to this restaurant mostly for special occasions. While last time's tasting menu was a letdown, this season's looked to be outstanding so we thought we'd return and try it. Imagine our disappointment when we sat down, only to be told that the tasting menu (posted online) was not yet available! The manager offered a glass of champagne and suggested we could order the menu items a la carte (but, then, why not the whole tasting menu?!). Determined not to let this disappointment ruin our evening (it was our anniversary), we did cobble together a meal of some of the items which was quite tasty. The standout was the diver scallops, seared perfectly. The homemade pasta needs work, but the sauce was delicious. Wine list: excellent but pricey."

  • "Great views from outside patio without enough seats there make for a fair dining experience in a somewhat stale inside dining room. A more welcoming and friendly hostess is needed, and better tasting deserts. The waiter asked is for our water preference and we indicated the free flat stuff is fine. We ended up with a $10 charge for a bottle of Evian."

  • "The location was perfect for a small buisness meeting, great service, excellent wines and everyone enjoyed their meal. We all agreed we need to return with our families for a real treat!"

  • "We watched sunset on the Pacific Ocean while dining outdoors at Lido. That alone would have justified sitting there, but even sweeter was the five-course chef's tasting menu which treated us with one delicacy after the other. Beyond the outstanding quality of the food, the meal is a major bargain: $60 for five courses. Do the math: there's practically nothing on Lido's (or any other fine restaurant's) menu for $12, let alone the scallops, rack of lamb, stuffed sole and other delicacies we savored. And to top it off, the first-rate restaurant did not charge any corkage on the two bottles of wines we had purchased in the nearby wineries of the Santa Ynez Valley and Paso Robles. Lido is a winner on all counts!"

  • "This was the most unimpressive meals I have had in a long time, the service was slow but friendly and they were out of several items on the menu and we were there for an earlier dinner time. The tables are set to close to each other, and the night we were there they had 2 large groups and live music, so the noise level was so loud we could not hear each other. Even if it had been quieter, the meal itself did not lend for a second booking."

  • "The scallops on pork belly, which was recommended by our waiter, was undercooked scallops on fried fat and the sauce might have been good except I was unable to get the scant amount from the plate onto the appetizer. The sweet potato and apple soup, which i was really looking forward to, tasted more like warm applesauce than a soup. The meringue in the pavlova was so hard we couldn't even cut it with a knife. The lemon sauce was tasty though. The wairter was very nice."

  • "This is a perfect place to bring friends and family for any occasion. I have only had the brunch, but will be sure to come back for dinner!!!"

  • "Lido's is the place we go when we want to celebrate any milestone in our life because it is such a stunning restaurant. I took my boyfriend there on 2/13/14 to celebrate him getting into a 4 year university and at the end of the night he proposed to me with the help of Lido's amazing staff. I will remember that night as the best night of my life, thank you for making it so special for us!! We will definitely be back soon."

  • "We wanted someplace special to celebrate our anniversary and we made a great choice. The stuffed sole was delicate and delicious, my husband's steak was cooked perfectly."

  • "What a surprise- we were staying at dolphin Bay and decided to eat at the Lido rather than driving somewhere else. We got the $30 special offered during the month of January - my husband had the smokedmeatloaf and I had the seared artic char- both came beautifully prepared and were very tasty. It was 3 courses- we had sweet potato/ Apple soup for our first course and a dessert as well. We were very pleasantly surprised how good everything was- will definately return( wine list was extensive ) There was also a 3 piece band playing and many people dancing"

  • "Was expecting Ludo to be average food and poor service consistent with most hotel restaurants, especially since this was a prefix Xmas menu. Was more than pleasantly surprised."

  • "When I pay $55 for a price fixe meal I have high expectations. The scallops were well prepared, but then placed in a sauce on the plate that was awful. The prime rib was done perfectly, but cold around the outside edges. The apple strudel had a thick tough crust...not flakey at all."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "Restaurant and Service were fabulous. Food choices for the plated brunch were very odd to me. I don't know that I would go back fro brunch for the price. However, this is a great place to have a meeting or get together with a group. I hear dinner is amazing."

  • "We've spent the past three Thanksgiving Holiday in the Pismo Beach area. Each time we've dined at the Lido. Service was prompt, and the food was good. Only problem was the seating was a little cramped for two people. We were provided a small table for two against a wall."

  • "We stopped for lunch on our way to Santa Barbara. Very convenient as 101 is 1/4 mile away. Lauren, our waitress, did a great job. The scallops were delicious but I would have preferred less salt on the salad (easy to add yourself if you want to). The bowl of brown rice with shrimp and asparagus was more copious than we thought at first. Very good too and beautifully presented. Didn't have any dessert, so can't say anything on that but delicious no doubt. Nice grounds to go for a walk before or after with easy access to the beach. We went early (11:30) and didn't get any bread until we were half way finished with the main course, so way too late. It was fresh from the oven, though."

  • "Very happy with our Thanksgiving Day dining experience. Sunset view was an added perk!"
    Dined on 11/28/2013
  • "We visited Lido Restaurant for the first time for Thanksgiving. Everything was lovely ... the view, the food, the staff, the wine (in no particular order). We were a little troubled that while the food was quite plentiful for one of the entrees (the beef), it was almost skimpy for another (the vegetarian pasta). No matter: we traded plates halfway through and no one left hungry! But if your family isn't into shifting plates around mid-meal, check out neighboring tables before deciding. It was all excellent, so having an excuse to share was a bonus."

  • "Loved the prix fixe menu rather than a grand buffet where food is eh. We all, 8 of us, ordered different items on the extensive fixed price menu--turkey, beef and salmon. Everyone was happy. I'm from Seattle and ordered the salmon--it was the best! Served with perfectly cooked haricot verts and my first try of forbidden black rice! All was wonderful! Would come to Lido again hands down. Perfect Thanksgiving dinner--and no cleanup!"

  • "Four of us dined here last Friday. Place was packed and had a very vibrant atmosphere. We all had the Caesar Salad - very creative presentation. My husband and I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked (we had 5!). Our friends chose one each of the steak options. So tender and the vegetables were delicious. Had brunch here last Sunday. You can't beat the prix fixe! 3 courses for $29. Bottomless mimosas (and they use real Champagne). Very relaxing with great service!"

  • "This was my first dinner at Lido's and it was an exceptional experience. The swordfish entree was outstanding, and the autumn lasagna immediately became a favorite comfort food. Our server, Rita, was friendly, well informed and attentive. And our party very much enjoyed the perfectly attenuated music of the jazz trio, "Three Martini Lunch," as it wafted from the bar through the dining room."

  • "Lido is one of the best restaurants on the area. The food is great. The location and view can't be beat. The service is a always top notch. The manager even stops by every time to make sure everything is good. I highly recommend if you are in the area. Main courses run $30-40, so it may be on the pricey side. They don't charge a corkage fee though, so that keeps costs reasonable."

  • "We had a wonderful evening with great food and great service. The only set back was the noise level. We were seated next to a four top that was very loud. After they left, when we were about help way through our dinner, the noise level was much more tolerable but still loud. If it were not for the noise I would rate this restaurant a 10 out of 10."

  • "Great setting, a nice selection, nice ambiance, great staff but would NOT rush back because it is just ridiculous expensive. They had a "special" that was "surf and turf"- and it was priced at $90 !! When they didn't have the rib eye they came back and said they could do it with a filet but for $10 more!!! So that means the special was $100 -Really?? It wasn't even that good. The asparagus was over cooked, the potatoes were silly tasteless, and the sauce on the spiney lobster was mediocre. There are just so many other places to go that I have a hard time recommending to someone that wants to feel like they really got what they paid for. Perhaps a drink at sunset before going somewhere else"

  • "We went to the Lido Restaurant to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. It was a quiet night, for it was a Monday during the low season, but that suited us well. It was very pretty, and our food was delicious - the carpaccio was the best we've ever had! Our waiter, John, was very friendly and helpful. He advised us knowledgeably on wine, and we enjoyed it very much! And he treated us to a delicious dessert to celebrate our anniversary! We had a wonderful breakfast there the next morning as well - delicious roasted wild mushroom omelets with fruit and either potatoes or spinach, and the fresh orange juice was really yummy!"
