Diner Reviews
  • "Have been to this restaurant several times and will return again!"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "I have heard raves about Las Brisas for many many years and finally went for a birthday dinner. We ate inside unfortunately because I think eating on the patio overlooking the ocean would make the experience so much better. The interior is dated and dumpy. The food is nothing special and in fact I would say none of our dishes was even good. The Frutas del Mar was particularly disappointing, everything was overcooked and not fresh. I have had way better enchiladas and tacos from food trucks. If it had been excellent ambiance and delicious food the expensiveness of the dinner would not have bothered me but as it was, I think it was exceptionally overpriced."

  • "The food was just average, the place was not sparkling. Too touristy but it was my first trip to Laguna and a short walk from my hotel so was fine. Would not return for a second visit, too many other places to try out."

  • "We both thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Las Brisas. Our waiter was charming and efficient. The drinks were good, the dinners superb and the dessert fabulous. And, of course, with the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean, the setting was wonderous."

  • "Excellent view with wonderful outside area. Spicy tuna nachos were the best. Home made Flan is a must. A great way to experience Laguna Beach."

  • "My husband and I try to dine at Las Brisas 2 to 3 times a year. Always very good to excellent. Ceviche was over the top delicious. Need to ask for extra chilies to make it right. Seafood preparations were very good, Del Mar and Halibut. Del Mar was a little light on shellfish and fish compared to other times."

  • "My wife and I always go to Las Brisas to celebrate our anniversary, so for the last seven years we have enjoyed the event as part of our special day! We are always pleased and happy with our tradition. David and Daisy"

  • "On a bluff overlooking Laguna Beach, this restaurant is a must-do Southern California experience. At my cousin's recommendation, we decided to dine here after attending the Sawdust Festival. The view is mesmerizing, but only in the daytime. The restaurant is quite large, and you can dine either inside or on the patio. The food was good, if not exactly the best, but the view and service made up for any shortcomings. After dinner, we strolled out to the bluff for the sunset and then down to the beach and a swing around downtown Laguna. It made for a perfect evening."

  • "Endless champagne, brunch is a fixed menu but you do have options made to accommodate all eaters; salad, seafood, fruit, Angus steak, etc. We all received a very fresh fruit plate, followed by our choice of the salad or soup of the day (limited to a single salad or soup selection), then choice of about 20 entrees and the dessert of the day. View is spectacular! Despite being busy, we were served very quickly and food was well prepared, and the server was quick on refilling champagne."

  • "Been going here for over 15 years and never disappointed. Dinner great inside by the window, outside for drinks. Best view in all of Southern California! Like being on the Mediterranean in Nice, France!"

  • "Great service. There's was a nice view and the food was very tasty. Our table was ready for us upon arrival."

  • "I have never left a review before as I am prepared to always make my own decision and go with my own judgement. The reason for this one is this restaurant is a waste of time being on open table. We booked brunch this past Sunday at 1pm. Upon arriving on time we were told we could have a table after two. When we said we had a reservation the hostess was quick to point out that she doesn't even look at reservations nor take them in to account. I'm sure the restaurant is good as it was so busy. Just don't bother reserving if that's their attitude!"

  • "We have enjoyed several meals at Las Brisas, and they have all been fabulous. The service is first class, the views are spectacular, and the food is definitely fresh and prepared with care. Whether it's a chicken enchilada or carne asada or fresh fish, every dish is delicious. Don't leave without the chocolate mouse in the almond praline cup!"

  • "Service & food were excellent. Table was by the window & view was beautiful! Everytime I booked on Open Table, I always get an ideal table!!! If it's your first time in the Laguna Beach area, allow time for traffic. Area is great for walking around at the many, many shops & sandy beach. Wish we knew ahead of time, we would have gone there hours earlier."

  • "The food was delicious, the service on point and attentive, but the noise in this restaurant is very loud. It was difficult to carry a normal conversation because it was so loud. The view, if you can get a table overlooking the ocean, is amazing."

  • "Great view and excellent service. We even took a walk on the beach afterwards."

  • "From the moment we turned the corner onto Cliff Dr it was a great evening. We found a parking spot out front, walked in and were seated promptly at a window table. Our reservation was 5 pm and so very quiet. By 7 it was obviously much busier. Kyle and Fernando attended to us with great service. Jimmy was gracious and delivered a gift very to us and everything was perfectly attended to all evening. Great job, great service and a happy 26th anniversary celebrated. Las Brisas lives up to and exceeded the high referrals!!!"

  • "Very good restaurant. I expected high end Mexican food made with expensive meats and seafood. Really wasn't Mexican food but had great Seafood."

  • "We truly had a wonderful time! Food, Service and Ambience was Fantastic! We had a window table with the Ocean glistering Sun shining with the delicious food and stupendous service! Thank you to Fernando our server and the Manager checking on us! We will be back!"

  • "Beautiful location for our 47th wedding anniversary. Great meal. Best ceviche we have had. The waiter recommended the asparagus soup. We were leery it would be too spicy, so he brought out a sample, but it had just a slight hint of "kick" but the smoothness one would expect. The coconut flan was a surprise treat. The corn on the cob pieces on the skewer was also a surprise, very tender. The Sole Veracruz was a great mixture of flavors. Attentive service without being intrusive. The later dining hour was a good idea for a pleasant evening."

  • "This was the first time I reserved through opentable. I got a confirmation, they seated us promptly and accomodated us with a window seat. The service and brunch were great! It was a good experience for myself and my friend especially since I was treating for her 50th Birthday! She loved it!"

  • "We had a lovely evening!! The service was personable, engaging and warm. The view was spectacular and our dinners were amazing. Overall it made our celebration very special."

  • "I'm not sure why but the girls at the check in desk always seem inept. They confirm you and the reservation and leave you standing there not quite knowing what to do. A party of 6 was called and they didn't give a name so as there were 2 parties of 6 we both started going to the table. Nobody corrected it or stepped in to assist. They didn't like the table so we took it instead. After that we had the most wonderful waiter, he was fun and very good at making our lunch a lot of fun. My Sole was delicious as usual!"

  • "My well traveled Argentine father in law said quite simply 'the best Mexican food he's ever had.' 4 out of 5 clean plates (the 5th was finished @ home) with some sublime flavors... Great view of Laguna's main beach and the ocean and access to sea, sand and sidewalka along the bluff."

  • "Our family went to Las Brisas to celebrate a birthday. We were seated right away at a nice booth. The food and margaritas were good, but not great. The food is a over-priced for the quality. The noise level is very loud and it is difficult to have a conversation. The best thing about Las Brisas is definitely the VIEW!"

  • "We celebrated Father's Day at Las Brisas. We knew the scenery would be worth the drive. We hadn't been there for a while but the food was every bit as good as we remembered. We had wonderful service. The champagne was especially good! Even the dads who don't usually drink their champage enjoyed it!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with a dinner at Las Brisas. Neither of us had ever been before. We purposely arrived about an hour prior to our reservation which allowed us to walk along the paths nearby and through Heisler park. Gorgeous views and nice photo spots! We then enjoyed margaritas in the patio area outside while waiting for our table. Once seated, the waiter recommended the lobster/prawns/scallops/fish of the day combo plate and it couldn't have been better. We were seated next to a large 25+ group celebrating a wedding rehearsal, so it was a bit noisy, other than that, it was great. It doesn't seem like you could go wrong with and evening at Las Brisas. We'll definitely return!"

  • "We had a gorgeous view from our table and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time at Las Brisas. We not only celebrated Father's Day with a father and grandfather, but also a birthday for a mother. It was a wonderful time. We had drinks on the patio before dinner, which was also very enjoyable and beautiful scenery. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and it worked out great! Quick note, there is no kids menu but they will make pretty much whatever you want."
