LArtusiAmazing meal, worth the 1Amazing meal, worth the 1 month wait for a reservation. My must have recos to anyone reading this is the garanelli with mushroom ragu! The most delicious mushroom sauce I have ever had. Even the non-mushroom lovers at the table found it be delicious!
Olive oil cake, another must - super moist, with honey & raisins (exactly as you would have it in Italy).
Cauliflower with anchovies and pine nuts for a side dish. Wine list is full of great italian wines and the regional detail in the menu was genius6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Italian RestaurantThe food was outstanding. The homemade pasta was perfection as well as the appetizers. Great restaurant for a special occasion.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBest MealHands down...one of the best meals I have had in NYC. The food is consistently delicious and flavorful. The staff is extremely friendly and the attention to service and detail is impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant- you can't go wrong ordering any item on the menu.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful spot to dine soloAmazing food and service. Menu is interesting and creative but not a challenge. Great place to go solo because of comfy bar and kitchen bar seating. Nice experience at table with a group as well. A winner. Get a Rez!
I am not a fan of the decor, feels a bit off. But the marble bar is great, and with such great food who cares.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPasta PerfectionWhile everything on the menu is delicious, the pastas are standouts. Creative & imaginative and perfectly prepared. Staff is friendly and knowledgable- paired our pastas with a terrific wine. Will go back again and again6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGoI took two clients here and we had a great time. Food, service and ambience were perfect. Would also be great for a social occasion. I'll be back!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and DeafeningThe flavors were bold, fresh, and assertive without being fussy. The crispy potatoes were so delicious I almost wept. Waitstaff was friendly and responsive, without being intrusive--and blessedly, no "attitude," even though this is clearly a very hip dining destination. The portion sizes are perfectly calibrated and allow for diners to create a constellation of tastes, but without the tapas-- where else can I go for dinner afterward?--problem. One thing to note: even on a Tuesday night, and upstairs, the noise level was deafening. Conversation impossible. Go--but with a copy of the New Yorker, on your own.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great find. This wasWhat a great find. This was a recommendation from a friend . Excellent meal and very pretty restaurant. Service too was good.
We will definitely be back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular and consistent qualityEverything was magnificent: service, ambience and OMG the food!
House made ricotta is delicious, the crudos perfect, grilled octopus fantastic and adjectives fail me to describe the sweetbreads. Simply Divine. The ravioli was a tad under cooked for me, but still flavorful.
The desert of chocolate hazelnut: I died and went to heaven.
Will return on our next trip fron Scottsdale.
Congratulations to the staff and the chef!!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dinner at L'Artusi.Perfect dinner at L'Artusi. Service was warm and friendly and the food-Hamachi, Beet Salad, Garganelli, Char and Striped Bass-was amazing.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding and inexpensiveOutstanding and inexpensive food. One of the best value for money. Delicious pasta.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest EverI love L'Artusi. Pricewise, it's more for a special occasion. You can keep the price lower by getting just 1 or 2 dishes, but that's almost impossible because everything is so good. If I chose a last meal, L'Artusi would be the place. Not enough good things to say. The pasta is amazing, the homemade ricotta is great, the salads are fabulous. Favorite restaurant in the city.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food, outstanding serviceThis was my first time to l'Artusi, but it will not be the last! All the food was fantastic, standouts were Branzino, beet ravioli and asparagus risotto. The desserts are in a class by themselves, particularly the sea salt gelato!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMthe staff, especially Joriethe staff, especially Jorie at the bar made any mishaps go away. for a cool trendy place the food was amazing. cannot wait to go back.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AML'Artusi had not only incredibleL'Artusi had not only incredible food at a very affordable price, the service was also outstanding! I was 45 minutes late after my graduation in a heavy downpour, and they still accommodated me and my family. I can't wait to go back!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLove L'ArtusiThis is my favorite restaurant int he West Village5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMRecommended by a friend . . .And we were delighted. Started with athe wagyu tartare (one of the best I have ever had) and the ceviche which was so light and clean in taste. Also had the quail and branzino. Both were delicious. Can't wait to go back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, great staffAmazing food, great staff. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and we were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne and a warm, knowledgable wait staff. The ambiance is romantic, but still energetic. The food is quite simply unmatched. Everything from the cheese platters and grilled octopus, to the pasta and fish is amazing, with a slight, distinctive twist on traditional Italian cuisine. This was our first time here, and will certainly not be our last.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingL'Artusi was recommended to me by an NYC native who specializes in Italian restaurants. I was not disappointed. The menu was unique, sophisticated, and compelling -- it was very hard to select a dish. My meal was amazing from start to finish, and the service was friendly without being overbearing or phony. I sat at with a full view of the kitchen, and it was fun to watch. I would recommend this restaurant unreservedly and look forward to going back!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMReally TerrificI eat out all the time and am dissapointed more often than I am satisfied, but I have to say with delight that LArtusi has very, very good food and a lovely wine list. Everything that i had was outstanding. I had the Bolognese which I thought to be the best I ever had. I also enjoyed the butter lettuce salad and the hamachi tartar - wonderful. Portions are bit small, but that is fine for ladies.
I went back just a few weeks later because it was truly that outstanding.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AML'Artusi's the BESTAmazing night at L'Artusi. We had the mushroom pasta and lamb ragu pasta dishes. Both were stellar. The hamachi tartar was also a killer item.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWine and good heavenThis place is amazing. The ricotta appetizer is a thing to remember. The pasta was amazing, staff was very well trained and their wine list is just incredible. Everything is broken down into region of Italy with characteristics of the region and wine plus recommended food pairing. Seriously impressive. We had an amazing time and will be recommending this to anyone we know heading to NYC.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDishes are deliciousThis is the second time I've been to L'Artusi. The pasta dishes are excellent. I we had the pasta special - pasta stuffed with braised short ribs. Yum. The other dish was pasta with shrededed lamb meat. We had the scallops appetizer (uncooked sushi style) - that was tasty too. Then we had the rhubarb crumble for dessert. Overally, for about $200, you will get a very good to excellent meal with a bottle of wine.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful meal. The waitressA wonderful meal. The waitress gave outstanding recommendations and was very attentive. Can't wait to go back.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMwow!L'Artusi is terrific. It was the 4th "top Italian" restaurant on our NYC culinary adventure (including Babbo and Blue Hill) and it was without question the best! My suggestion, sit at the bar and watch the kitchen in action. The wine list is both wide and deep divided into regions. It's a great value given it's relatively moderate price point.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!I've been here twice in the last few months and must say I will continue going back. Their food tastes incredible, extremely fresh and perfectly seasoned. Definitely my go-to place when friends are visiting!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTears of joyAfter a terrible dinner the night before we were moved to tears with the fantastic cocktails, wine and food here. Service was pleasant, efficient. Loved this place.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect But For One ThingThis was my second dining experience at L'Artusi, and I loved the experience both times. My first experience was with three friends, and we ordered a few contorni. One was broccoli rabe, my favorite. I was so disappointed to discover there were onions in the dish, as they weren't mentioned on the menu, and I don't eat onions (not a picky eater, just don't like onions). I completely forgot this my second time and ordered it again. When you update your menu, would it be possible to state there are onions in the broccoli rabe? I believe others would want to know as well, though I'm hoping I'll remember next time.
Otherwise, a phenomenal experience, and I will be back, and continue to rave to my friends and family.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal. ExtremelyExcellent meal. Extremely competent server who made wonderful suggestions. Not inexpensive but well worth every bite. Would go back in a minute.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding. We loved ourOutstanding. We loved our experience at L'artusi and can't wait to go back.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMHad brunch - Frittata andHad brunch - Frittata and LArtusi Breakfast. Both meals were well prepared and tasted very fresh. Particularly liked the Frittata. Restaurant is relatively quiet at table seating capacity (the bar stools were empty). Waiter was efficient but very indifferent, no personality.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great staffGreat food and great staff that's all you need to know.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodGreat food. My new favorite restaurant. Nice bar scene.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal in NYCAbsolutely one of the best finds for food and service in NYC. We have been to the restaurant twice on recent trips to NYC. Enjoyed the Black Bass last night and beet salad which were both excellent. My daughter enjoyed the spaghetti and serving of 3 cheeses. She told me we had to go back to this restaurant as they had the best spagehetti. The service was excellent and they offered our main entry at no cost as they had overlooked the pasta and needed to remake it.... How about that for customer service! Reminded us of our great restaurants on Portland Oregon.... Fabulous food and service in a comfortable and warm atmoshere. Definately will return for another meal.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ahd the Marion Valpolicella,We ahd the Marion Valpolicella, roasted mushrooms app, then gnocchi and orrechiette. All were very good--mushrooms were excellent--but nothig was outstanding. We were mildly disappointed after reading so many raves.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI took four friends here thatI took four friends here that were visiting New York and we were all extremely impressed. We sat on the second floor in the back wine room which was beautiful. The wine list was like an encyclopedia, the food was delicious, and the server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was worth every penny and I will definitely be back!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMTop-notch service and foodL'Artusi provides a lively atmosphere, superior service, and fresh food with flavor combinations that surprise and delight. One might think that a dinner of butter lettuce salad and spaghetti would be simple, but no - L'Artusi takes these to new heights. The salad sits like a budding flower on your plate (gorgeous! and it's LETTUCE!), and melts in your mouth like, well...butter. The fresh, delicious pasta is always a favorite, and the portion size is just perfect. Amazing wine selection, as well as wine-selection advice to complement your meal. Our only complaint of the night, rather minor, was that our Branzino dish was served a top a bed of olives that were a little too salty, and not quite enough fish to satisfy. But we'll be back!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNYC's bestMy favorite restaurant in NYC. I have never had a bad experience at L'Artusi, which mathematically seems impossible given my frequency. Josh, who was our waiter, was beyond friendly and very helpful with the wine list. The roasted chicken is my favorite dish. I often wake up craving it, and it's consistency in quality flabbergasts me. Amazing jus and hen of the woods mushrooms that taste like bacon. The broccoli rabe side is always a good companion, and you must try at least ONE of the crudo. I had the escolar this time around and the melange of flavors blew me away. For dessert the hazelnut tart is a must have. The perfect dabble of sea salt. To die for.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in W. VilThe food was AMAZING! Don't question it, just go. There is something for everyone there.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing cheese options! ReallyAmazing cheese options!
Really good food - great services.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive and Poor ServiceWent for my birthday. I think the place is overrated and they could improve on their service. The food was great, but I would expect nothing less at those prices.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a beautiful meal andWe had a beautiful meal and a terrific waiter who knew the menu thoroughly and professional. There was a diverse wine list for all budgets. I was surprised that behind a simple back door and awning was such a vibrant 2 level restaurant and bar.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AML'Artusi is amazing. FoodL'Artusi is amazing. Food is terrific. Try all the pastas!!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinner!Great Dining experience! We ordered the Ricotta cheese plate, Scallops crudo, Mushroom appetizer, Orichette (their pasta specialty), Carbonara (pasta special), and Grilled Octopus entree.
The mushroom, orichette, and grilled octopus were outstanding! Orichette reminds me of the pastas I ate in Rome. The scallops, carbonara and ricotta cheese were good but nothing special. We ordered the Choco Hazlenut dessert.
I recommend to to eat dinner at an earlier time. We came at 6:15 and later the restaurant is crowded and very loud. Ask to eat upstairs for an intimate setting. Tables for couples will be close together.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience fromWonderful experience from the moment we walked through the door. Very crowded but we were seated early for our reservation. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious and absolutely beautiful. What a great place!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved every bite! Our groupLoved every bite! Our group of West Coast foodies shared the hamachi tartare, beef carpaccio, house-made ricotta (to die for!), citrus salad and four pasta dishes. Flavors were crisp, clear, perfectly seasoned, interesting and delish. Pineapple salsa on the ricotta? - genius! Topped off by chocolate budino and friendly, attentive service. We'll be back!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come here when we visitWe come here when we visit NY. One of our favorite places. The food is fabulous. The mushrooms are amazing. The Brussels sprouts are to die for. All the main courses are delicious.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AM,Me and a friend of mine had a great time the food was great, service was incredible4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI don't usually respond toI don't usually respond to requests for feedback but I have to say, that the food at L'artusi was delicious.
I am very particular about food and especially Italian food. he cheese selection was fresh and delicious, the grilled octopus was perhaps the best I even had. ame goes for the tagliatelle dish. Looking forward to returning. The waitress did a great job of choosing a bottle of red wine for us. ery enjoyable meal. The tables are a bit too close and I felt time the guy sitting at the next with a cold, was distasteful, but the food was excellent.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AML'Artusi has amazing pastasL'Artusi has amazing pastas and a unique seasonal menu that allows the guest to mix and match various selections according to size plate and course. The service could not have been friendlier and more helpful. We had our daughter's wedding brunch there, then came back for dinner with friends at a later date. Two very different kind of experiences, but both were delicious, friendly, and unforgettable.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
