  • "My food (the healthy prix fixe) was delicious. The salad was perfectly dressed, the grilled salmon was tasty and the sorbet was flavorful. My husband's corn soup and BBQ chicken was good, but his polenta was cold and graham cracker (S'mores) tasted stale. So I loved it, but my husband didn't."

  • "This was the first time my husband and I came and we will definitely go back. We started with a couple cocktails and they were delicious. I had a martini and my husband had their special edelflower sour. I had their half chicken and it was to die for. The barbecue sauce was so good. It came with a sweet corn polenta and I ate every bite. My husband had the halibut and he said it was delicious. For dinner our server Nathan recommended a Pinot Noir. I am a big Pinot person and it was perfect. We were full but our server recommended their butterscotch pudding. We decided to try it. It is the most smooth creamy not too sweet pudding I have ever had. He told us they use real scotch in it. I would go back just for dessert."

  • "We've been coming to Lark Creek every July for a friend's birthday (and half price wine month) for years. The food is fabulous and the service is always top notch. My only disappointment is that the vegetarian pasta has been the same all this time. Actually, most of the menu seems the be same as it is every year in July. But I guess when you have a good thing going, you stick with it. The tamale pancake was devoured as soon as it hit the table. The flat bread was surprising flavorful for how simple it looked, and was also a hit. I know we will be back soon."

We went for my son's birthday dinner and the pot roast lacked flavor (I only took 2 bites) and the pasta, which is usually my son's favorite also lacked seasoning as well. Service was not what we are accustomed to at Lark Creek."

  • "We had dinner on Saturday night at 7:30 and were seated at a table for two near a window. As soon as we were seated the waiter came to take our order. We quickly looked at the wine list and ordered wine. When he came back a few minutes later with our wine, he asked for our dinner order and we told him we would like to enjoy our wine for awhile before ordering. He made a surly comment about us dragging out our time at the table. We ordered dinner the next time he came back and were done with our 3 course meal in less than an hour .The waiter must have been in a hurry to leave, as he brought the bill with the dessert. The food and wine were very good as was the service by other employees but we won't go back anytime soon."

  • "Went for my anniversary dinner and was ultimately underwhelmed. I ordered the nightly special which was gumbo. The roux was overcooked and although I like okra there was way to much of it for my taste also there was on two pieces of sausage in the whole thing. My wife had the NY steak and it was just ok she said. The combination of topings didn't work for her and she thought the blue cheese was excessive. The service was good overall and the Moscow Mules were top notch I will go back to the bar just for them."

  • "I visited The One Market restaurant when it opened 20 years ago and was instantly pleased. It has been a while since I have been there, but was searching for a place to take my wife on her birthday and decided on Lark Creek. Every thing we were served was fresh, the service was great, and we appreciated the "Healthy 3-Course" offering. I will be telling my friends and coming back soon."

  • "Calamari - chewy/arrived at table semi-warm Halibut entrée was delicious however, both myself and friend having the same dish were VERY disappointed with the extreme addition of raw diced red onions - it didn't make sense and really spoiled the dish. We couldn't finish our meal...for the price - I expected more from this restaurant! won't be returning...."

  • "We have dined at Lark Creek in Walnut Creek for many years. The dinner we had recently was not good at all! The salmon was sent back twice because it was not cooked through. It was raw in the center. The meatloaf was hard and over cooked. We will not return to Lark Creek."

  • "I booked a brunch reservation and asked for the front patio area. We had a nice table in the corner of the patio so that we could bring my daughter's small dog. The blueberry muffins are excellent and so was my eggs Benedict. The hue fos ranchero was just ok because the tortillas in the dish were tough and hard to eat. It was also a lot more spicy than my husband expected. Service was good and it was quite pleasant sitting out on the patio. It was a very relaxing meal."

  • "Chose this restaurant because of my favorable experience with their other restaurants in SF and Marin. I chose the pot roast, as the waiter indicated this was their "signature" dish. The chef clearly needs to check in on this dish. There were just 3 bite size pieces of "meat"(2" long by 1" wide) laid on top of vegetables and potatoes. The meat was cold, and clearly had been prepared some time ago and was (improperly) heated. I should have sent it back and asked for something else. My friend had Mary's chicken, this too was disappointing. Save your money and go elsewhere."

  • "We've dined here many times, but this time, the food quality didn't seem up to par. Although our server was trying to be considerate of our table conversation and wine enjoyment, he didn't let us know the kitchen main line was shutting down "shortly" and suggested we order right away. We felt that the entrees were rushed out of the kitchen and weren't up to their usual standards. In fact, I believe mine was reheated in the microwave. We will be returning soon and hope they are back to their usual high quality."

  • "We have been coming to Lark Creek since it opened, but over the past several years the quality of service has deteriorated greatly. This most recent visit we brought along an out-of-town relative for a special occasion. The table we were given was placed where no table ever should be, in a high-traffic area adjacent to the serving area behind the bar, likely the worst table in the restaurant. Add to this that we were ignored time and again by our waiter, such that we spent at least one hour all told waiting for services--we even had to ask one of the bus boys to get the waiter to come to receive payment--making the evening unpleasant for us and our visiting guest. If he had not been with us we would have complained. Never again."

  • "The Paella was good but a little too over done (the rice was soft in most areas, but definitely crunchy in other areas). An order of that was a great portion for two people if you both order salads. We asked for olive oil for the bread and it didn't come until way later, so that was a bummer. We loved the enclosed patio seating on a very nice evening."

Surprized and disappointed as the flavors were nothing near one would expect from bruschetta. If you coming to Lark Creek go for the ribs, fish special- DON'T get the penne which was another dissapointment."

  • "Were it not for the inappropriate/poor response from what we assume was the manager, we would've had a 5 star experience-the meals were excellent & our server was fine. Glaring sun hit my husband's face & eyes for about 45 mins.;when we asked to move his chair to the side of the table (after about 20 mins. & with him wearing sunglasses) for relief, the manager (at least he looked like he was managing the dining area)told us 'no' as he needed this path & added an obligatory 'sorry' with no offer to move us. The restaurant had 4-5 four tops available now, from being almost full earlier - only 1 more party of 2 came in after that, & staff moved through this path exactly once while we were there. Unsatisfactory & poor PR/regard for patrons."

  • "Second visit on a Saturday eve, wait staff very professional and prompt. Food just wasn't up to the standard they've enjoyed in the past. Caesar Salad was the best dish of the eve, smoked pork belly was ok, meatloaf had wwwaayyy too much ketchup, the pulled pork was not pulled pork, more chopped dry smoked pork loin-ish with a fairly benign bbq sauce, the "grilled corn bread" was in fact a corn flour muffin, with too much baking powder taste, split in half and grilled. S'more for dessert wasn't graham crackers but soggy graham cookies, the butterscotch pudding was outstanding, thank heavens, saving the day."

The pricing was a little more expensive then it should have been, with a Prime Rib entrée costing $35.50 when we've gone to other restaurants and paid $24,95 for the same fare. The deserts were also priced higher than need be, with a two scoop sorbet costing $8.50. The better bet for dinner is the meat loaf."

  • "we came for lunch and we split the apple salad. very light and not overdressed and quite flavorful. we then split the veggie sandwich which was really nice. lots of pesto, cheese and it was nice a warm. great bread and great flavor. we subbed waffle chips for the macaroni salad. chips were light and very very crispy. lemonade is blended and slushy and delicious. service was nice. we passed on dessert but they looked good."

  • "Lark Creek offers a new spin on American comfort food...something for everyone on the menu. The salads are especially wonderful and available with endless options and substitutions. Diners in our party also raved about their seafood and beef options. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The only negatives are that the restaurant is very loud and hectic which makes conversation at your table quite difficult. Also the dining tables are so small and so crowded with dishes and serving ware that there is literally no place for everything on the small table tops."
