I love Lambert's. The ambiance is somewhat dark and smokey (from the barbeque pit). The service is always excellent and the food is wonderful. Great place to dine on a cold winter day. I always appreciate the fact that the are willing to split entrees and salads.

We went had a date weekend, and both being foodies wanted to hit some of the places that we always wanted to go to but didn't feel right bringing our 4 yr old to. So in a weekend we went to the driskell and Lamberts (as well as some smaller places) and the comparison was night and day. The food was great at both but the driskell was to stuffy for us. Lamberts fit us perfectly the brunch was wonderful and I would easily pay $40 for the buffet again. Please give it a try. We have some amazing BBQ in Central Texas so it is hard to justify paying extra for "fancy BBQ" but they do a wonderful job. It is BBQ for when you want to make BBQ special

We selected Lambert's based on it's menu and location. We noted that the reviews from previous diners on Open Table were uneven but we decided to give it a try. While the ambience is fine and our waitress was prompt, attentive, and friendly, the food was very disappointing. One of our party had the oyster appetizer as her main entrée and noted they were very salty. Two in the party had the mustard and brown sugar crusted rib-eye steaks. Both steaks were full of gristle and of poor quality - more typical of a low end super market choice grade. The last member of the party country pork ribs and noted they were just okay. We also ordered two desserts to share which were enough for the four of us. Overall, we'd take a pass given what we know.

Lambert's was as great as I remember! Service was impeccable and food selections delicious. We started off with the wild boar ribs - great starter for 3-4 people, not too filling and delectable. We all ordered some type of beef dish and they were all sublime. It was a great evening! Will surely return!

Cornbread, real butter, chopped beef sandwich, sides and desserts were fantastic!!! Sliced brisket was not uniform - one slice was phenomenal: fork-tender, juicy, melt-in-your mouth! The other 2 slices were dry, hard to cut, chewy, as though they were left over and re-heated. The ribs were also very chewy and seemed re-heated. So sad because I took my sister who who was visiting and wanted to really impress her. Luckily her chopped beef was great and the desserts were to die for! Also, the noise level was really high. We purposely went after the lunch rush so it wouldn't be noisy, but the sound system was way too loud. There were only 2-3 tables with people and should have been adjusted accordingly.

Good food, but over-priced. A two meat bbq plate is $16.00 at lunch. You can get a similar meal at many bbq restaurants for around $10.00. I liked the sides, they had the "regular" ones (potato salad, beans, cole slaw), plus they offer sides you don't usually see, like collard greens, and jacima cole slaw, which was great.

I've eaten at Lambert's before (prior to Texas Monthly rating) and food was not as good this time. Brisket was just OK. Chicken dry and marginally flavorful. Sides bordered on bad. No need to go back, which is highly disappointing because it is close to the office and in the right part of town to just drop in...

Lambert's was everything we were told it would be! The BBQ lunch plate were just big enough and came with 2 sides! Both the brisket and the pig ribs were BBQued to perfection with out-of-the-box flavor. The sides were delicious with a superb potato salad and a creamy mac'n'cheese.

A moderately priced gourmet comfort food dinning experience. My family and I enjoyed a varied menu of innovative family style home cooking with a great gourmet flare. Every thing was wonderful from the salads right on down to the deserts! The waitstaff was accommodating, friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was old world, charming and provided different needs for everyone. We typically like a more quiet setting so we were seated up stairs in the corner away from the main noises. If you wanted a more lively setting you could be downstairs or by the bar area. Overall we were extremely pleased!

The choc bread pudding was a delicious end to meal. We had a really good waitress who knew the menu well. Need reservation, busy on a Tues nite.

The food was absolutely delicious! Best lump crab and ribs I have had since moving to Austin! Yes, it is better than Salt Lick and Rudy's. However, it is very cramped in the restaurant, making it difficult to hear the person sitting across from you because the people sitting next to you at a different table have conversations going on, too. It would be better suited if it wasn't so crowded with tables and people. I was only downstairs, so not sure how upstairs is configured. Despite all that, however, the food was superb!!

So me and three friends heard about Lambert's and we decided to have dinner. We all had various appetizers and our main entrees. I had the short rib for dinner. The presentation was beautiful since it was a whole short rib with the bone. The food was good. Everything went so well till the very end. I did not finish my short rib and I asked the waitress to hand me a to go box. She took my plate and she decided to bag it for me. When she brought my to go box, I discovered the bone was removed. I know I being picky, but it would be nice if our waitress asked me if I wanted to keep the bone. Our waitress advised they can't bag our bones because it is to big. My overall experience turned out from excellent to disappointing.

We had a friend recommend Lambert's as upscale BBQ in Texas. We are quite foodies so were excited for great food and matching atmosphere. The service was great - our waiter was attentive, cortious, and helpful. However, our meal was delivered about 5 minutes after we ordered. Then we just felt rushed. Rushed to free the table, rushed to clear out before the music, and rushed to make decisions (drinks, entrées and desserts - without menus at times!). It was good food. I had an enormous filet of trout that was cooked perfectly and delicious quinoia. My fiancé had the half chicken and was pleased with the proper cooking of the bird, but was underwhelmed by the seasoning. We enjoyed the corn and broccoli sides. Overall, wouldn't return.

I came to Texas maybe once in a lifetime, but I came to this place twice. First time: brunch with brisket and farm chicken. Briskets are fabulous. Second time: Boar ribs. Can't resist the temptation of a little bit spicy and a little bit creamy and a little bit cheesy :) Great experience sitting at the bar talking to the bartender.
