The lights are turned down at dinner to create the perfect romantic atmosphere. Food is outstanding and the service makes you feel like you're at home. What more could you ask for? Only complaint was that we ordered a salad to be split and it came to the table as one for us to split- a minor hassle but the house salad and dressing was fresh and nicely prepared."

  • "Stayed over in Inner Harbor on the way home to NY. Found La Tovola online and took a chance. It was just a short walk from our hotel. Somewhat of a no-frills setting, but the food was excellent. Caprese salad (my name for it) had the freshest mozzarella we have had in a long time. Scallops and freshly made pasta were very good and presentation was well done. Gelato was dense and fresh. Waiter was terrific (from Long Island NY too)."

  • "The food and service were excellent. We were a larger group and there was plenty of space. We had a reservation and arrived early and were able to be seated with no problem. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I only took a star off of "service" because I had told the waitress we were celebrating a 30th birthday so the restaurant chose a dessert (which was delicious) and put a candle in it, but they also charged us for the dessert. For a party that was spending the amount of money we did, I thought they could have given the birthday girl the $7 dessert. But otherwise, it was fabulous!!"

  • "My wife and I had dinner last Saturday. First off, the pasta is home made and wonderful. However, if you are not paying attention you could miss out. Like other Italian restaurants I've been to La Tavola does not serve pasta with its entrees. You can order a pasta dish as an entree or if you having meat or fish you need to remember to order a pasta course. Second, the veal was excellent. Tender scallopine in a tomato/olive sauce. Just great. My wife had the gnocchi - it was both excellent and enough to kill a horse. Our waiter could describe the menu so well that it felt like you were eating it as he walked through the specials of the evening. Nearly 50 years of eating in restaurants and I'd never had that happen before."

  • "We go here quite often. This is where we go for comfort food (my husband is Italian) and great food! All the pasta is made in house which we love! The service is always great and they make us feel like family. We had our rehearsal dinner here and every time we come back they ask us how married life is and what's going on. We love it here! Everything I have ever ordered is great! All the desserts are great too, but our absolute favorite is Chef Carlo's cheesecake! In Little Italy this is our go-to place!"

  • "My girlfriend and I arrived relatively early on a Saturday night (5:45pm). As such, the restaurant was not crowded, at least not initially. The service was exceptional and the pacing of the meal was well coordinated, so that we did not feel the least bit rushed. The entrees were both very good, especially the grilled fish, which was one of the specials. However, the salad we had was a bit bland, and the bread could have been warm and fresh-baked, but it wasn't. The dessert was very good and well presented. Overall, this is a solid place to eat for a special occasion. It is not as romantic as it might be, but it is OK. It is also good for larger groups."

  • "This was our third visit to La Tavola in two years. We love the food and appreciate the good service. One flaw during this visit was that our waiter didn't advise us of the day's specials. He may have thought that we were there for the Restaurant Week menu since we asked to see it. After we heard another waiter inform patrons at a nearby table of the specials, we decided we were pleased with the choices we had already made. I loved the seafood linguini! We look forward to a return trip to the restaurant."

  • "Overall I'd say our experience at La Tavola was average, which surprised me considering it had such high ratings on TripAdvisor. The food and service wasn't bad, though nothing was what I'd consider memorable. I ordered the Linguine with Truffles, which was tasty but was overwhelmed with a really heavy cream sauce and did not have even the slightest scent or taste of the ground truffles that the menu claimed was in the dish. Portions were so-so, though some of the dishes were way overpriced for what you get. My friend's fiance ordered the eggplant parmesan w/ a side of spaghetti and we were shocked that the restaurant charged him $8.50 for the tiniest side plate of pasta and sauce...that kind of nickel-and-diming is disappointing."

I probably would have given better ratings if the valentine day menu wasn't pre set. It didn't give me much to choose from. For the money i paid, I would have liked to have had a much bigger selection so I could get what I want and not be limited. But over all, the experience wasn't bad. I just don't think that it was complete."

  • "From the moment we walked in the service was friendly and attentive. Mike (host/manager?) was great as was our server. The only issue (which really wasn't) was that I ordered the special and I had thought that I heard that it came with risotto Milanese, but all that was on the plate was the fish and green beans. I just figured I had heard wrong. Half way through I heard the waiter telling the table next to us the same thing. Since the fish and beans were delicious and plenty of food I didn't feel the need to say anything, but I do love risotto. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. I would definitely go back."

  • "Ls Tavola is our favorite Italian restaurant in Little Italy and in all of Baltimore. The quality of the food and of the service is always first rate. My wife almost always gets one of the fish specials cooked in parchment paper. Very fresh fish, lots of herbs and a simple white wine sauce. I defer to one of the veal dishes. This time it was the Norccina with olives, tomatoes and a hint of pesto. Fresh home made pasta is amazing served with a marinara sauce. Get a half or whole portion to split. We always receive top notch service from Bill one of the excellent wait folks at La Tavola."
