Diner Reviews
  • "This was my first time at La Sandia and I was very impressed with the venue. It has a festive atmosphere and the staff were pleasant and knowledgable of the food. They made sure we were taken care of and food was served hot. I really enjoyed my plate which is one of the signature plates. I can't wait to come back and bring a group!"

  • "I was a patron on 4-11-14. Unbeknownst to me, My girlfriend called ahead and asked the restuarant to provide a surprise desert for me because it was my 50th birthday. She also reminded the hostess that we were celebrating my birthday. The hostess said they were really busy. the restuarant was maybe 50% full. It took quite a while for our drinks to arrive and we had to summon our waitress so we could request another round. Our food arrived promptly. The meal was great. We had another round of drinks and a surprise desert never was delivered. I am very dissapointed with the request not being fulfilled. I sasn't informed until later that evening that she had made the request ."

  • "Food, drinks, Water, Service Stale chips came late, after the water (which was not re-filled during our 90 minute visit). Requested second round of drinks was not delivered, not charged. Soup requested as first course was delivered after the meal delivery by special reminder. Food was soggy, overcooked, or bland. Wait staff hard to find, or gain attention to a failing service. Birthday celebration was memorable, but not for the right reasons."

  • "Arrived at La Sandia & they said we didn't have reservations. They said my reservations must be for another La Sandia. I did receive an email to review my experience there from last night at La Sandia at Lone Tree from Open Table so that confirms I did have the correct restaurant and did have reservations for 6 so not sure what the confusion was. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and I now I know why. We had to send 2 of our entrees back (shrimp enchiladas) because they were cold. It took 20 minutes to get them back again. The manager did comp us for the 2 entrees which was nice but I would never go back there again. We had a couple from out of town with us and I was embarrassed how bad the service & atmosphere there was."

  • "A frequent choice for us because the menu is 90% gluten free and we Love the food at La Sandia. My only complaint is that the noise level gets too Loud! It is hard to have a conversation. Can't wait until the patio opens and you can dine outside with a the incredible view of the Front Range. Nothing finer."

  • "The food was delicious i personally reccomend the steak fajitas and table side guacamole. The only set back was it was a little cold in the restaurant but other than that the food was wonderful the prtion size on the fajitas was perfect the guacamole was a little small for the price but still awesome. the wait staff was fast and attentive without lingering at the table too long or rushing the entrees out before we had a chance to enjoy our guacamole. The kids menu was priced just right and my 4 year old daughter loved getting extra tortillas to wrap her chicken strips in the waiter made her day by doing that. I would reccomend this resaurant to everyone."

  • "I live in Monument. My bridesmaid of 54+ years ago iive in Denver. This is a wonderful restaurant for us because of the location and the food. The waiter was wonderful and helpful One of the women is on a walker and had just the right kind of assistants from both the waiter and the hostess. The food was beautifully prepared, with a nice presentation. I though that the prices were more than fair."

  • "This is by far my favorite restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. The food is amazing, and they have the best mole I have ever had. Thank you for the amazing experience!"

  • "This restaurant is a favorite of ours. The food is always delicious and the environment is fun. On our last visit it was hard to get our waiter's attention, but it's usually all good."

  • "Overall we enjoyed our food: nachos, empanadas, shrimp and chicken enchiladas, rice , beans. Carnitas were a little dry. Service was poor- the food is spicy and waters were never refilled- waiter didn't really answer questions we had about a few menu items and acted as if he didn't want to be there. Restaurant was unpleasantly loud. The chairs were so uncomfortable I couldn't wait to leave. My husband wants to try again for the food- maybe if I bring a cushion"

  • "We were well cared for by the staff and our waitress. They were flexible and great with our 2 young kids and my husband's questions on the menu. Everything we had was a good size portion and was delicious. The food had a good amount of spice without being overly hot. I was disapointed that the Lone Tree restaurant did not have the Banana empanadas. The flan we took home was okay. The Mojita was great, but I couldn't taste the mango. Otherwise we were totally satisfied and will definately come back again and have more fun without the kids. : )"

  • "La Sandia is a good - not great - but definitely good spot with a menu which tries to vary from the standard and does it fairly well. Also the fresh guacamole tableside is delectable. Plus if you like tequila, that's a good place to be. All in all worth going."

  • "Our waiter was Josh and he couldn't have been any better. Would go back just because of him. Food was amazing and different. The only drawback was it is noisy and not good for table conversations."

  • "Husband's salmon had to go back because it was raw. Could barely find the shrimp,in the shrimp enchiladas. Husband specific about dairy allergy. Beans arrived covered with cheese. Just no attention to the food prep. Really poor presentation. Just not worth the price."

  • "La Sandia is consist with their food quality and taste. The service is always friendly! We have never had anything here that we did not enjoy! You must try their guac! It's the best!! Their drinks are nice and strong too!! Make reservations if you want to go on the weekend though because it's always busy!!"

  • "I appreciate an energetic restaurant, but my party of five was having to yell, or repeatedly say, "I can't hear you." Maybe turn down the music or provide some sound barriers. Made the experience unpleasant. Server left our drinks empty for long spans and when one member of our party spilled a water glass he did offer to help, but left the table wet with puddles in it instead of taking the time to truly make it comfortable to sit there. We left as soon as we could pay the check."

  • "We came into town for a wedding and had to stop by La Sandia. My wife and I love the freshness. The food is excellent. This is not your typical heat and serve Mexican food. The prices are a little higher than your local place but well worth it."

  • "I eaten at La Sandia many times and I have never been disappointed. I come mainly for the food, which is always unique and expertly prepared, but the service is always exceptional too. All the hard surfaces make it a little noisy sometimes, but I can live with that as long as the food and service is done right."

  • "Waiter never introduced himself, didn't tell us the specials and offered nothing in the way of engagement. He was spread too thin but didn't do anything to alleviate this during our service. I ordered the pork carnitas which came out rock hard and dry as sand. The charro beans were really good as well as the chicken & beef fajitas which my boyfriend ordered. Getting 1/2 an edible meal by no means made up for the haphazard service. Probably will go back for happy hour but not for a full meal."

  • "I enjoyed my dish (chicken zarape) but my husband was disappointed in his (combo plate). We have decided only the chicken zarape & fajitas are good. We do think the menu is over priced. You can get better Mexican food for about the same price at Hacienda Colorado. We do like the upper patio on the summer though."

  • "I should of known this wasn't going to be good, at 11:45 AM on a weekday, most restaurants are full at Park Meadows. There was only one table that I saw with people. The waitress was great, no problem with service, but the food was BAD. I realize this isn't a true tex-mex restaurant, I assume it's what they consider a bit upscale, but there was nothing upscale about the food. From the stale tasteless chips and salsa, to the entrees my lunch date and I ordered, terrible. I will not go back. Such a shame as we could use a good Mexican Restaurant in the Park Meadows area, but this one is NOT it."

    Dined on 12/12/2013
  • "The noise and sound levels made simple (close-up) conversation a real challenge. The service was "acceptable" but nothing to write home about and the food was a disappointment. Steak fajitas were served at room temperature and the meat was quote tough and chewy. No one ever asked how our meal or experience was; for the prices it was a disappointing evening."

  • "Everything was great except for the fact that our waiter ripped off my friend. When we got our check we paid $60 in cash and put the rest on a credit card. The owner of the card found out that the waiter kept the cash and charged him the full amount of the bill."

  • "Usually people want to hear the bad news first. What I didn't like about the restaurant was the ambiance (the walls are orange), the noise, and the food. The good news about what I liked was the view and the wait staff, who were VERY nice. For me, I would not return, but others may really like it! That's how it is with having good news and bad."
