Inspired on the thousands of cebicherias found throughout Peru, La Mar Cebicheria Peruana, was created as an attempt to globalize and enshrine one of the best guarded treasures of Peruvian cuisine: cebiche, Peruvian seafood and the scenery created to enjoy them, the Peruvian style cebicheria.

The ambiance/decor/building is wonderful, not to mention even the food yet, which is outstanding! Couldn't believe that the noise level was so minimal in a high ceiling room, and it was packed! Take your early reservations, as the plates are to be shared, and it's fun to sample the lot, which they have!

A really pretty space in a nice setting, and the menu is fun because is is different from most other restaurants. The food is delicious, but rich, and I would have liked more low-fat options. The veggie chips looked beautiful but tasted like they had been made ahead.

I was very excited about La Mar but left disappointed! The cebiche (ceviche) was not great like I had heard. It was ok but not tart enough for me. The lomo saltado was good but also not great. The only thing that was amazing was the pisco sour. So overall mediocre food.

Excellant in every way. Having just visited Peru, there are many authentic Peruvian dishes on the menu, as well as some delicious selections that benefit from local ingredients and expertise. I'd recommend to anyone.

I have had Peruvian food before but this was really excellent. The pisco sours are wonderful and not to be missed. The dish we enjoyed most - other than the sampler ceviche - was the enoki pot. The flavors were excellent. We'd definitely go again on a special occasion as the dinner costs add up quickly when you factor in pisco sours and wine.
