A word from Kyma - Atlanta
Kyma is a contemporary Greek seafood tavern like no other. The cuisine is inventive yet approachable that is true to its Mediterranean origin. Kyma is dramatic, with a dazzling display of constellations on the deep blue ceiling, white marble columns and a bold fresh fish display. The welcoming patio, with its plush furniture and white linen curtains, offers the ideal setting to savor a glass of Greek wine and Kyma’s array of appetizers. Fresh, healthful food, attentive Greek hospitality and festive atmosphere await at Kyma. Proper dress is required. “A true labor of love. Bravo.” -The Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionContinued

Diner Reviews
  • "Kyma is by far my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The appetizers like grilled octopus, fresh oysters, fried zucchini balls dipped in saffron yogurt and main dishes like the Lavraki fish with lemon-infused olive oil and capers - whole and served for two are just a sampling of what you can order. I also love the eggplant appetizer as well as the tray of Greek cookies for dessert. The food is very fresh, flavorful and prepared simply. And the atmosphere is elegant and modern. My husband and I celebrate our anniversary there every year as well as a lovely dinner during the holidays. I highly recommend this restaurant...it truly is a gem."

  • "We have visited Kyma several times and always have been impressed with their incredible service and hospitality. This visit was a disappointment. I don't know what the problem was but the service was fair to be generous. We waited over a half hour after being seated to get a drink order and it stayed consistent throughout the dinner. The food came promptly and was very good, no complaints about the food, just the service or lack of service. We will be back hoping this was a fluke."

  • "This is our second recent visit. We were highly satisfied with the experience from the valet taking the car, the hostesses greeting us, who had noted our special requests and honored them (we asked for a quiet table, and they gave us, after asking, a booth), to the waiter and food. Our waiter was a real gem, being friendly and warm without being the least intrusive. He made helpful suggestions, but didn't "push" anything. He was attentive, but he gladly gave us plenty of time to decide on our choices and plenty of time to enjoy our drinks and appetizers before turning in our order for the main courses. There was a bit of a wait for the main courses, as he had told us, but that's what we wanted. An outstanding evening."

  • "The food is very creative and well prepared, but the service from the waiters to the bartenders to the managers is simply outstanding! This was my first time dining here with my husband, and we both agreed that we will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much for an awesome experience!"

  • "This was our first time at Kyma but it won't be the last. The menu was excellent and the food was prepared as advertised. Great experience!"

  • "Went with two girlfriends and our meals were excellent as usual. They did forget one side on one of the entrees and both the baklava and loukamades were overlooked but overall a great meal."

  • "We had four diners which is perfect for Kyma. Of the seven appetizers all were excellent. The grilled octopus was the favorite for three of us while our fourth selected the tuna as her favorite. Roasted oysters, scallops, lamb pie, a special soft shell crab dish and the daily special were all worth ordering again. On Sundays the menu is slightly different and we sampled the grilled lamb chops, pork rib and chicken souvlaki which were all juicy and tender. Dessert - oh dessert. The baklava was good and the pistachio ice cream accompaniment was stellar. Rice pudding was good. Loukoumades! Delightful, delicious, crispy on the outside, light on the inside doughnuts, served with honey. I am craving these right now!"

  • "This is one of our top 5 places in Atlanta. We had some out of town family guest that really enjoyed the fine dinning experience. We shared many of the small plates, we often make a complete dinner ,they are so good, but also added a snapper dish we also shared & enjoyed. Service is always great as well. we will be back shortly."

  • "Fantastic night out. The valet parking was right at the front door. They seated us at our reservation time. The waitress, Haley, gave us her name, introduced the specials and helped us pick the wine. All of the food was delicious and the portions of the small plates were nicely size. We loved the grilled octopus and the ribs the best. The tomato and cucumber salad was very fresh. The halibut and risotto was cooked to perfection and very fresh as well. The manager, Nicholas, came by the table to say hello and see how our experience was. We tried a few desserts. They were all very good. Our table enjoyed the molten chocolate cake and the pistachio ice cream the most. The valet was quick to get the car."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants in ATL. Excellent food, great choice of wines and cocktails, the staff is always very friendly and courteous. The best Dover sole and we love all the appetizers and salads."

  • "My husband and I love going to Kyma. It is a great Greek restaurant. The food is spectacular and the service is bar none excellent. I recommend the mezze dinner with fish. You get 3 spreads with pita, 4 appetizers, and a baked fish entree with quinoa and Kale side. You will not go hungry."

  • "Several well-informed people had told me that Kyma might be the best Greek restaurant in the nation…..I tend to agree. The food was excellent. Greek raised to the highest level, with the freshness and depth of flavor that characterizes Greek food. Executive chef Panos Karatassos is as humble as he is talented."

  • "This is a special occasion restaurant. It is very pricey for the amount of food, however what they do give you is very tasty. Don't plan to take home any doggy bags. The serve is very good; they are very attentive. Disclaimer: We went on a Monday night. I would visit this restaurant again for a special occasion, however it will not make my list of restaurants to frequent."

  • "My recent dining experience at Kyma was delectable from beginning to end. The food was simply spectacular and was beautifully presented. My server, Chelsea, was very knowledgeable about the menu and did a great job pairing wine with our food choices. Chelsea's impeccable service made the trip to Kyma all the more special. I brought three first time diners who remarked they will certainly be returning to Kyma as a result of Chelsea's service and the delicious food. Thank you again for a wonderful evening!"

  • "My husband and I took some out-of-town friends and their 3 kids to Kyma this week and Haley (our professional server) took FANTASTIC care of us. She was friendly, genuine, and put everyone at ease. Our group had a great time sampling all the tasty fare and the service by the entire Kma staff was excellent. Yes, it's super expensive - but if you want a great experience with top notch service, this is the place. Again, many thanks to Haley for such a great night!"

  • "My husband and I really like this restaurant. The service is great and the food is outstanding!! Always fresh and well prepared, the food is served in reasonable portion sizes and not overly salty (which is often a problem in many restaurants in Atlanta). We particularly enjoy going on Sunday evening, when there is live music, which gives the diners a feeling of being in a restaurant somewhere in Santorini. This is a great place for a romantic dinner or somewhere special to carry friends from out of town who'd like to eat something other than standard southern fare. Highly recommend this restaurant!!"

  • "Had a wonderful dinner on a Sunday evening! The fish is by far the freshest I have had in Atlanta! It is pricy but worth every bite! Be sure to have several small plates to enjoy the options of wonderful Greek food. Our waitress was well informed on all items as well as with the wine list. Put this on your dining list if you are a fish lover...and even if you are not!"

  • "I had given up on Kyma a few years ago for the same reasons I know give it up for good. It is a more blown, over hyped, over priced and consistently under preforming scene; like most of the Buckhead Life restaurants. Fortunately for them, there is a plenitude of diners in Atlanta with too much money and not much taste; they love the Emperor's cloths, too."

  • "Kyma is a restaurant you can count on every time. I have never had a bad experience. I took my parents and children. We all had a great time. Their kids menu is really impressive for such a good restaurant."

  • "Every time I come to Kyma, the experience is exceptional. Food was amazing, from the amuse bouche to appetizers to entree. The entrees were taking longer than usual, so kitchen brought out some do lades for the table. The octopus and skate wing were without fault, as was the grouper special. We will be back!"

  • "Nice selection of fresh fish from the Mediterranean and a few well-prepared meat dishes. Just about everything can be ordered as small plates (except the whole fish). I would return (and have) for the grilled octopus alone. It goes from being a good restaurant to a great restaurant depending on the server. Some of them know the history of all the wines and dishes they serve."

  • "I love all of the little plates at Kyma. Plus you can hear conversations and the atmosphere is not stuffy. The wait staff is excellent and does not rush you through a meal. Try the grilled octopus or the eggplant especially. Even if you joust order little plates, I assure you that it will be plenty of food."

  • "We ordered the tasting menu. The food delivery was not well timed. We got the first appetizer before the pitas & spread. Earlier there was cold, stale bread & olive oil with our drink order. It wasn't worth the calories. appetizers arrived with the cocktail. The speedy delivery did not continue..food arrived quickly or painstaking slow. We barely got our wine order, before the main course. we ordered dessert, but we wre ready to leave the before painstaking slow dessert delivery (both ordered pre-made cold selections) and then a painstaking slow wait for the check...we had to ask twice. The food was not worth the mixed service. It was more of a kitchen issue than service.....but the service could have been better."

  • "Kyma is a great experience as long as you plan to dine early. As the night progresses and the restaurant fills up, service begins to slip a little and the noise level increases. Be prepared to wait 35-45 minutes for your entrée. probably not too big a deal if you ordered several of the small plates as appetizers. Overall, a nice experience."

  • "My wife, adult son and I tried Kyma last Saturday night. In spite of our Open Table reservation we had to wait 25 minutes in the bar for our table. The restaurant was hopping, with many patrons decked out in Saturday evening, hipster fashions. The atmosphere was clearly one of bustle, with thumping techno music in the background. Our appetizers, which included grilled prawns and chicken, were delicious. The fish entrees we ordered were very fresh and creatively prepared. The meal was expensive, but on par for a high-end place like Kyma. The valet parking with red Ferrari by the front door was a sign of that."

  • "Our waiter, Christopher, was super. He was in training but made our experience very special. We ordered Mediterranean tasting that included a variety of dishes from veggies to meat and seafood. The large prawns were very well prepared along with the two way lamb that were amazing and not at all greasy. We will definitely return."

  • "I come into town for business with a group of people, most of which are food snobs. this is one of our favorite places to come. the grilled octopus is outstanding and the lamb (served in many ways) is fabulous. Any of the fish dishes are well worth trying. We are always interested in trying Greek wines and have not been disappointed. The only disappointment has been ordering (and getting) exchanges for a dish (risotto for collard greens) - and then the server not coming back to check on the exchange. beyond that - everything is consistently wonderful!"

  • "We ordered the prix fixe dinner at $44 per person. Although really wonderful, it was just too much food; I would not order it again for that reason. Otherwise a very nice evening."

  • "Hotel recmd for vegtrn entrees...limited to greek dishes, lots of oil and and/or cheese/must love greek food to truly enjoy if vegan or vgtrn. Fish plates were fabulous-definitely a place to go if you want greek/medtrn fresh/whole fish entrees."

  • "One of the best waitresses I have ever had. All of her recommendations were spot on. We did tasting menu, wonderful flavors! My only complaint (and we chose to upgrade to Dover sole and did not ask advice) was the sole was only average. Not the waitresses fault but the restaurant shouldn't sell it unless it is fabulously fresh and wonderful!"

  • "From the personal greeting at the door, the fine food, service, and ambiance, an ordinary meal (not an event in life) becomes an extraordinary moment remembered throughout the week. My husband and I go here often on Sunday evenings to listen to Greek music provided by the strolling guitar player. We feel as if we just stepped off a ship on a tiny island in the Mediterranean. The menu allows the diner to build his own meal depending on tastes and appetite. Each small plate is a generous amount for two. We usually order from five to seven. The Ahi-tuna is a must for us each time. Although we have other favorites, we try to discipline ourselves to sample all of the excellent choices. All so good, it is hard to choose which ones."

  • "The menu is simple Greek food that is delicious but nothing you couldn't make at home - except maybe the octopus which had a nice grill flavor but spongy texture. The service was absolutely unforgivable. One server with all of the tables on the patio (about 10 tables) plus a couple of tables inside. She did her best but had little patience when we didn't want to accept her menu suggestions. Won't be going back."
