  • "This is our favorite spot to go when we have company in from out of town or are celebrating a special occasion. We frequently come here on a whim even if there's nothing to celebrate! The food is consistently amazing, and the wait staff are always attentive and personable. K'ya is a must see if you're visiting LB."

  • "Great small dish menu, enough to share and interesting options. We had party of 4 with a bottle of wine and it was less than $40 a person"

  • "The noise level is this restaurant is so loud!!! We have been here before when it wasn't packed -- unfortunately this time it was! Had to yell across the table to be heard AND to be heard by the waiter! Food is always good -- except this time we tried the rosemary chicken and it was AWFUL! VERY dry!!! Worst chicken breast I've ever had. Mentioned it to the waiter and all he did was apologize -- did not take any money off or even comp. a dessert! Oh well! Recommend the upstairs for lunch! Same food, beautiful view and you don't have to put up with the noise level!"

  • "We would love this place if the noise level was a few decibel lower. Even when it wasn't full it was noisy. The food is very good, we like the tapas style, the servers where helpful."

  • "As usual Kya Bistro has the best Happy Hour in Laguna. Great food at unbelievable prices. My favorite is the Lobster Risotto and the Cheeseburger is fantastic"

  • "The best food in Laguna beach! A real hidden jewel!"

  • "My favorite are the lamb chops cooked to perfection and my friend loved the Tilapia. Great atmosphere and ambiance. We loved it. Would recommend it to anyone. OH and one of the best Caesar Salad's ever.. Don't miss the wonderful pear Martini.. My compliments to the Chef."

  • "I love this restaurant. I especially like the small plates. I was able to try different dishes and share them with my friend. The patio bar and view on the rooftop of the hotel is spectacular!"

  • "I made a reservation for my birthday dinner with a bunch of friends. Everybody was very happy with the food, and we were seated in the little outdoor patio downstairs, which was lovely. I think some of the other seating areas inside tend to be a bit noisier, but our outside patio was perfect. Only thing I would have liked was if we had been seated sooner...we arrived on time but waited almost a half hour for our table. Granted, the outdoor area is quite small, which is what makes it nice and quiet, so for a group our size they may have had more difficulty in getting all the tables cleared for us, especially if the diners before us were taking their time. Fabulous food and service! Can't wait to try K'ya again."

  • "K'ya is a real find. They serve an eclectic assortment of gourmet food at incredible prices. If you are adventuresome, you will not be disappointed. We went there for the lobster risotto and it was incredible. Also had fresh halibut ($14.00), and multiple appetizers that were great. Upstairs is their Rooftop Bar with incredible views."

  • "Parking - terrible. Hostess - rude. Everything else was almost perfect though. The food and drinks were fantastic and our wait staff was very helpful and accommodating. The lobster risotto is a must - few things in life taste that good. Skip the rooftop bar. It's great for a picture but the staff aren't the friendliest and the drinks are watered down."

  • "I was expecting more given the yelp reviews but it was not great. I have been to the rooftop many times and know it for yummy drinks, ok food and ok service(really its all about the view). K'ya was for the most part the same. Our server Casey was friendly, but the food left a LOT to be desired. My sister and I both had the flavorless, tiny filets that were both over done. The chocolate dessert was also over cooked and the creme brûlée had coddled. I can say on a positive note that the Flat Bread Appetizer, Brussel Sprouts Side Dish and the Strawberry Balsamic Martin were all good."

  • "Menu options for everyone, food was very good. Sat at bar before dinner staff could not have been more accommodating. Dining experience good, a large group behind us were very loud- huh! Our food delivery was not as we requested following our waitress asking us timing preference. Our Mac and Lobster side dish came after half of our entrees were eaten. Ok, but not ideal. Will return soon."

  • "Last Saturday we made a reservation for 7 at K'Ya Bistro. We love this place. Everything was excellent. We sampled many of the items on the menu - meatballs, lobster risotto, short rib, lamp chops were some of the delectable dishes we enjoyed. Can't beat K'ya for value and great food! Not the place to go if you are in the mood for an 8 oz steak!!!!"

  • "We came from San Diego and met friends from LA here. The online reservation system was no problem even though me, the reservation maker, was a bit late getting there. The staff was very considerate and extremely patient with our questions about the menu. The food was delicious and savory, more like "small entrees" than true Tapas. The food was delicious, but we saved room for dessert and we were glad we did. The dessert portions were very generous. Afterwards we were able to walk around Laguna Beach and burn off some of the calories. About the only complaint was that it is a bit noisy there and one of my LA friends was kinda quiet, so I had to really lean in to hear him talk."

  • "Best happy hour we have found in Laguna/Newport Beach area. Food is very good and prices are right."

  • "Great tapas/small plate menu with many selections. The best way to enjoy all the excellent tastes is to order 2 per person and share. The portion sizes are big enough that you will leave full and satisfied. If you want a quiet dinner, request one of the outside front patio tables(there are only 4 or 5 though). Either before or after dinner, have a drink on the rooftop and enjoy the beautiful ocean view/sunset."

  • "Usually a great place to eat.....but poor service (forgetting our order, serving cold food, serving half the table's dishes while leaving the other half with nothing) made the experience terrible. We would give it another shot though as other times have been excellent."

  • "We stopped going to about a year and a half ago after a disastrous dinner when everything came out of the kitchen wrong! The manager, recognizing us as regulars "comped" everything. Having recently heard that Kya was back on track, we returned and were not disappointed."

  • "OMG, if you want excellent food, look no further. The food is outstanding. I would eat here every day if i could. Since the menu are tapas, small plates, the prices are very reasonable. I suggest this place for any occasion."

  • "Great place for a night out! Great food and good service! A little on the loud side so don't go for a quiet evening. It's a fun place!"

  • "We celebrated a Birthday at K'ya and had another delightful experience there! The food and beverages are consistently awesome! And the service is always impeccable -- the wait-staff is always congenial and fun! Thanks for a really wonderful evening - we will be back Very Soon!"

  • "The small plate selection makes for a self controlled and eclectic dining experience. Portions can be shared and are tastefully presented. Good chice of tapas at reasonable price. Setting is a bit noisy."

  • "The small plates style allows you to sample a variety of foods and share with your friends. Menu is full of decadent choices, but frankly everything is a bit mediocre. If you're a foodie you'll be underwhelmed. They survive on having items like crab coated Mahi Mahi or the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Of course it will be good with those ingredients. But each bite is never actually amazing. Just OK. "

  • "My husband and I came here on a sunday evening for our one year anniversary, which I noted on my Open Table reservation. Our server (Lawrence) was upbeat, fun and friendy. Most Of our food came out in a timely manner, however waiting isn't terrible since K'ya has a very energetic vibe. It was not our first time here and every experience has been so different (in a good way). Once we finished dinner, our server offered us free dessert for our anniversary and seemed genuinely happy and excited as he knew the whole Time and had been waiting to surprise us. We were too full but Promised we would be back soon. We ordered a caeser salad, filet mignon tips, lobster risotto and chimichurri salmon and sangria to drink - all 5 stars! 6/1/14"

  • "Brought a family member from out of town here and it was a huge hit. Our group of 6 had a number of different items and every one of them was great. Our favorites were the ahi poke, Burrata caprese salad, and the chicken marsala. They also have a great variety of cocktails and the banana bread pudding dessert was excellent. The only thing to be prepared for is that the dining room is very loud (acoustics are poor). But all in all, you cannot go wrong here. "
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "Wonderful food, great service, but they really do need to do something about the acoustics."

  • "Used to be the best kept secret in OC but someone spilled the beans and now it is very crowded and noisy. It is still wonderful. I have never had a bad meal there and the happy hour is the best one around. Good service most of the time."

  • "Our server Jayne was wonderful. She checked in with us often, made sure the dishes were nut-free (for our daughter who is allergic), offered great suggestions. The food was delicious from the creamy lobster mac n' cheese (my favorite) to the steak tips appetizer. Though a nice and reasonable appetizer, the cheese plate is small and was hard to share among the 5 of us. The salmon was also delicious and we loved the grilled garlic chicken. It is pretty loud there, so difficult to hear each other. Glad we sat near the window that offered a cool city view and acted as a damper to noise."
