Heard good things and glad we
tried! I went her for a birthday dinner with friends and we loved the food. It is very "tapas"-style and we ordered many dishes...to many to name. Some favorites were the butternut squash soup, Rin, and Yui. The staff was very friendly, fun, and attentive. Would definitely recommend!"

Stick to ordering the special
sashimi and the special rolls. The rest i think its average. Overall its a bit overpriced. Plenty of better sushi places for lower cost. Ambiance is great though, the wine was also excellent."

Took a 1st date for our first
visit; food and service was excellent; was a bit pricy, but the quality was there for sure;; i would go back"
Dined on 7/17/2014
Overpriced and poor ambience.
They are charging Uchi prices, but not delivering near the quality, service or experience. Our server was not familiar with the food being sold."

Love the food, the service, and
the ambiance. Went a couple a couple of times with some friends, then took my daughter there (who's a big sushi/sashimi fan). She loved it and can't wait go back."

The food was very good at Kuu, but
the price is ridiculous. My husband & I like to go to very nice, high end restaurants, with a great wine list so we are accustomed to expensive meal. however, this was ridiculous. Fro that reason, we will not go back. In all fairness, we did order Omakase, but never did we expect the check we received at the end of dinner. Spell out the cost on the menu for this type of service."

Great overall Japanese food
experience - amazing service and attention to detail. Very intellectual approach to the cuisine - smart menu."

My wife and I have dined here 3
times, had 3 different servers and all were outstanding. One time we included our 13 year old niece who considers herself a sushi aficionado and we had to keep her from ordering a third Tuna Lobster with Lotus Chips. The Butternut Squash Miso Soup was also a hit with her. My new favorite is the Roast Duck Breast with Orange Miso. There are so many dishes we have not had a chance to try but so far nothing has disappointed us. The food compares favorably to the original Nobu in Los Angeles and the relatively new Nobu in Caesar's Las Vegas. The ambiance is sleek and pleasant. Creativity in the specials are on the same level with Uchi of Houston without the wait - at least for now."

We tried out the new restaurant
for our ladies dinner as we live in the area. The atmosphere is modern Asian and very relaxing. We had excellent service and the wine guy helped us pick a very lovely bottle of wine while the server made some awesome suggestions on the food. The plates are small so you can sample several of them. We even had two desserts and didn't feel stuffed. Everything was super fresh, well cooked and presented beautifully. I will be taking my hubby back there, but not the kids. Highly recommend."

Food is great, service is great,
atmosphere is great. I've been back there 3 times already. Of course, I will give this place 5 stars."
Dined on 7/7/2014
Food is outstanding. Flavours of
some dishes reminded me Japan. Surely a place to know."
Dined on 7/7/2014
The food, ambient, service and
everything else are great, would definitely recommend friends and families to come"

Went there to try it out last
night. The food was decent but a little too much sauce for our taste. The salad was fresh. Our server was pleasant but clearly was very busy. Probably would not go back for a while."
Dined on 6/27/2014
Great service, great food, a very
unique flare and blend for the sushi lover."

Was a little taken a back when got
to the restaurant. It was moderately full, but we were 15 minutes late to our reservation. I asked the hostess if we could sit in a booth, however it was a large table and the seats were uncomfortable. We asked if we could be moved to a smaller table, and she told us that the few smaller tables that were open were reserved for "regulars". She would not move us because we were late. She was young and probably a little unexperienced. It just felt like we were being "punished" for being late. It should have been handled differently. Maybe it was a miscommunication."

A new approach to Japanese. Basics
remain but approach is unique. Truly enjoyable."

First time in -- WON'T be the
last!!. Exceeded my expectations based on information gleaned from the website. May it always be so!!"
Dined on 6/19/2014
Always a pleasure to dine at Chef
Adison's table. The plating is gorgeous, the dishes creative and delicious, featuring top-quality ingredients. Fair prices. Lovely setting."
Dined on 6/17/2014
A high end Sushi restaurant with
cutting edge choices that isn't so over the top expensive or pretentious. Have been twice and loved it both times. Great wait staff, great food, and good wine list."
Dined on 6/13/2014
Kuu hit all the right cues. Great
classic dishes, with a slight twist. Great beverage menu, apps, great rolls, freshness is outstanding. Highly recommended."
Dined on 6/12/2014
Service was excellent but the food
was not as good as it should've been for the price. We ate at Kuu earlier this year and we remember it being much better. It seems the quality is already slipping. Maybe they lost a chef. We really hope it was just an off night because it is in a great location and, again, the service is great."
Dined on 6/7/2014
Having lived in Japan for years
and married to a Japanese, I found the food here to be a major disappointment. It is extremely expensive, very small portions, and bear little resemblance to real Japanese food."
Dined on 6/4/2014
I've been to KUU now 3 times. Once
for dinner, and twice for lunch. Food is always very very good, and is fairly priced and comparable to my usual sushi spots Sage 400 & Uptown Sushi A couple of very cool, hard to find wines on the list that were extreme bargains !!!! Great spot, will be back many times !!!!!!!"
Dined on 5/31/2014
I've heard many great things about
this place so I had to check it out. The place looks great and service was decent. I felt the menu lacked items and could use a little more dishes. The food was up to par. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, I rate this place an A."
Dined on 5/17/2014
I can't rant and rave enough about
KUU. The food is fresh with flavor, and the presentation is fabulous! Service is unspeakably wonderful! I am a huge fan of Chef Addison Lee!!"
Dined on 5/16/2014
the food was really good but not
amazing and it was seriously overpriced. like crazy... I think their lunch specials are reasonable. I would stick with that."
Dined on 5/11/2014
Kuu has a lovely, large, outdoor
patio/dining area that overlooks a courtyard on one side. It is a scenic as one can hope for in walking distance of a major hospital, hotel, other eateries and a mall. The menu of small plates is fun, the wine list is good and the service is great. I good "date night" spot. We will go back, soon!"
Dined on 5/10/2014
The food was delicious and our
waiter Nelson was outstanding. He was friendly & very attentive. We brought our 2 year old twins to dinner with us and Nelson was very patient & helpful. The food was very good. We ate several items off the menu & all of it was delicious. My only complaint...the portions are very small. "
Dined on 5/9/2014
The service was flawless. The food
exceptional. The atmosphere modern. "

This is a new restaurant across
from Memorial City. Sort of hard to see from the street. But try it. Very good and service outstanding. "

We dined for the first time at kuu
last night!absolutely fantastic. Be sure to try the kanpaccio!!!! The wrinkley crinkly was a great salad. The sashimi was fresh and delicious!"
Dined on 4/26/2014
We had a great meal and such a
great experience. We brought friends who had not been before and everyone really enjoyed each and every course! Bryan our server did a great job in advising new and different dishes. Outstanding!"
Dined on 4/25/2014
Great place. Great food. Chef
Addison Lee presents wonderful tastes and experiences with his dishes. We stuck with mostly cool dishes. Fish was fresh and delicious. Excellent blend of flavors individualized to our palates with a little more spice."

My dinner party arrived on
Wednesday evening. The restaurant and outside dining area were beautiful! Upon arriving, hostesses and the manager were immediately receptive. We got drinks at the bar first. The bartender was very nice; the bar was impressive. At the table, our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about our foods. He made great recommendations. Chef Adison Lee visited our table since we requested Chef's specials. Everything he sent from the sushi bar as well as the kitchen were delicious! The Kanpaccio and Wyagu and Unagi were just some of these delicious dishes. Their sushi is fresh and tasty as well. I will definitely return soon!"
Dined on 4/16/2014
We had lunch but ordered from the
dinner menu. We all felt it was as unique as Uchi at a better price. The restaurant is very well designed and the service is very good. Highly recommended."
Dined on 4/15/2014
If you love Sushi, this is a must
add to your list. I recommend to stray away from your normal selections and ask for input from the restaurant staff. They are well informed and will allow you to better obtain the exceptional tasting experience this restaurant has to offer. The food pairing is what makes this a cut above most sushi restaurants in Houston. This restaurant is also very customer focus driven. I truly enjoyed my experience and this a hidden gem I hope is around for a long time."
Dined on 4/12/2014
Server forcefully interrupted our
conversation on first encounter - apparently not trained in customer focus but evidently trained to turn tables. Menu is limited, compared to say Knife & Fish or Kaneyama, but more expensive than either. Many hard, reflective surfaces - noisy. They spent a ton on the main elements of the décor, but vinyl covered tables and chairs do not impress. Server tried to upsell us to sushi imported from Japan, but couldn't describe texture or taste more than saying all were whitefish; we stayed with the familiar - and why would Japan EXPORT sushi? I didn't believe. Final straw: server returned 20 $1 bills when I asked for change for a $20. My wife said several times, "We don't have to return." And we won't!!"

The Memorial area finally has a
great sushi restaurant. The ambiance and decor here is contemporary, chic and comfy. The wait staff are friendly and good at describing all the elements of a dish. I had the bento box with snapper. Delish. My friend ordered two specialty rolls. I tried both. They were fantastic and both unique. Welcome to the area, Kuu."
Dined on 4/9/2014
Kuu is a fun and adventurous
restaurant. There are lots of interesting choices on the menu but this place is not for everyone. The sushi is unique and has a good portion size. However, the entrées are way too small for most who are used to Texas sized portions and could be considered expensive for the average diner. For example, the scallop entrée has only two scallops and the wagu beef entrée has only four bites. I must say, that the presentation is 5 star and the flavor is perfection. This place is more for the sophisicated diner."
Dined on 4/5/2014
Awesome sushi!!! Fish was melting
in our mouths! The birthday girl was so spoiled with free drinks, appetizers and dessert!!!!"
