  • "Okay this place is waaaaaay under-rated... 1st—you get free parking at Omni, so you can stroll around downtown before or after & the restaurant is huge so it's easy to get in to. 2nd—they start you out with FREE gourmet biscuits that are to die for. 3rd—I've been there twice now & all of the dishes me & my guests have gotten were fantastic...from the hot chicken to the kale salads...there's something for everyone. They have lots of 6-top tables too, so great with a group."

  • "The fried chicken is sooo good, we ordered half regular and half hot chicken. Having Nashville hot chicken many times, we were not afraid. But this hot chicken is way too hot, neither my husband and I could eat it. It's kind of nuclear hot! Everything else was wonderful and large portions which was not expected for a hotel restaurant!"

  • "This was my 2nd visit to Kitchen Notes and this time I chose the restaurant for my Father's birthday dinner. It was a great choice that left my parents, who were visiting from out of town, very impressed. The restaurant was not packed with people, despite it being a Saturday night, so it was quiet and the wait staff was especially attentive. We had multiple people coming by to check on us to ensure a good experience. The food has a definite southern comfort feel to it. The decor also has a southern, yet modern charm. I had the shrimp and grits, my mom the striped bass, and my father the chicken pot pie. All of us were pleased with our selections. The shrimp were seasoned to perfection. A very enjoyable evening!"

  • "The food was quite good. Dinner included a Meat and 3 option that was affordable while it allowed you to try their wonderful southern cuisine. The wine list was goof for our group as well. The only negative thing I can say is they needed more wait staff. Our server was working very hard to keep up with his tables but we waited far too long to get our check. Everyone was without a beverage (including water). We had to ask the hostess to get our check. Hopefully they will fix this glitch and next time we'll be more on track."

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my Nashville hot cracklin' pork shank, spicy but supposed to be!! It was nice of the manager to bring us samples of local TN red wine. Disappointed our waiter did not say nothing about the special drinks offered at the bar but we returned the next night to try 2 of them."

  • "A good array of classic southern comfort foods - fried chicken was delectable, mac n cheese was creamy, mashed potatoes and gravy were flavorful and rich, chicken pot pie was excellent! The only comment I would have about the food is the fried quail on a waffle - fun to eat, but a little odd. Quail was delicious, but I didn't really need the stiff bland waffle underneath it. Biscuits were perfectly good biscuits, with quality butter and jam. Decor was very soothing and chic. Definitely plan on coming back!"

  • "We went for Fathers Day brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. It was affordable and had a huge variety of food. Bottomless mimosa's were a plus. 3 hour parking was validated which was great. I will defiantly go back"

  • "Fresh fruit, sliced meats, biscuit bar and local jam all on the buffet along with bacon, sausage, eggs oh my! Our server was super welcoming and friendly. We decided on the buffet because we were hung up on decisions and had limited time. In retrospect, I would've ordered something fresh off the menu if I went back. Everything tasted great but you could tell the biscuit had been sitting under a warming lamp for a while and the sausage was a tad dry--just what comes with the territory with buffet service."

  • "You should definitely have breakfast at Kitchen Notes. Like most hotel restaurants, they have a breakfast buffet, but Kitchen Notes' includes a biscuit bar! They also have a biscuit sandwich section on their menu. Great spot for breakfast."

  • "We were in town for a conference and stayed at the Omni. We enjoyed our dining experience at Kitchen Notes. They seated us where we requested. The waiter was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and the portions satisfying. We especially enjoyed the garden salad, and the biscuits. The deviled egg appetizer was delicious and so were the fried green tomatoes. This place is a gem."

  • "First visit to Kitchen Notes and probably the last. It is a restaurant in a hotel so maybe we expected too much. The food was disappointing. I had the trout nicoise and the menu did say it also had some potato salad on it but it really should have been called a potato salad! The piece of trout was tiny and the dollop of potato salad huge. The menu in general is a little weird in that they have tried (and failed) to enhance some classic dishes with their own twist."

  • "We had friends in from out of town waited last minute to book reservation for dinner in a Saturday evening. Kitchen notes had several reservations available , we booked . The cocktail bar before entering the restaurant had interesting drinks, very good , but also very pricey. Our table for dinner was in a good location. Our waiter another story, pool verbal skills,English extremely poor, we did not understand a word he said nor did he understand us. To eat dinner in a American restaurant downtown Nashville and not understand your waiter is so very poor. he was nice.rushing our dinner. The restaurant was not busy, we were rushed, the appetisers arrived dinner being served, never asked if we wanted after dinner drinks, coffee or dessert"

  • "Took my mom, wife, and father to Mother's Day brunch and was impressed with the layout and how nice the restaurant was laid out. They had a great spread with fresh fruit, dessert, shrimp/oysters, and exquisite breakfast food. We never did figure out if they had waffles or pancakes. No one left hungry and it was a memorable Mothers Day. I wish we would have known the Mimosas were an option earlier. It was quite expensive. "

  • "Mothers Day in Nashville was such a memorable day thanks to Kitchen Notes & Britney our server who by the way was a first time Mother herself and had the best attitude about working on her special day. The Buffet was outstanding there was so much selection and delicious! they also had a Quartet Jazz Band that was so delightful! I will definitely go there the next time I visit my mom. They have a great everyday biscuit bar Buffett if you want to go there and its not a holiday. Enjoy!"

  • "My husband and i decided to give Kitchen Notes a shot and we were VERY happy we did! The food was delicious & the service was exceptional. We started with Country Chicken Liver Mousse & a Black Kale Caesar salad, then had the Fried Chicken Bucket (HOT) & the Carolina Mountain Trout. Everything was PERFECTLY prepared & super tasty. This place is super cute and they have tons of tables for large groups. It would be great for a group brunch or birthday dinner party."

  • "There were 5 in our party for a business lunch. Our server must have been cut right after we were sat as his urgency for us to leave before we even ordered was beyond transparent. More than half the restaurant was empty so his urgency was not for wanting to turn the table. He asked how our appetizers were while there were physically being put on the table. Then he dropped the check as our entrees were being delivered. He was noticeably annoyed when we ordered dessert and coffee. Some of our orders were wrong and what was delivered was just ok. The food is overrated. Good not great."

  • "White Lily should seriously ask this restaurant to stop touting their brand name as the flour used in the biscuits here. For anyone who has not used that amazing flour, it would certainly never make one wish to try it at home. The buffet is one of the worst I have ever encountered. Hard scrambled eggs, dried out sausage, "pancakes" in the shape and texture of a slice of wet sponge cake, very small selection of pastries and the driest biscuits I have ever tried to eat. The cooked to order omelette was only slightly better than the pre-cooked items. This breakfast was not even close to being worthy of the nearly $20 charge for the buffet."

  • "I ordered the pork flank. It came with a really hard crisp shell with large bones. It would of been cool the encrusted shell was a bit softer and tastier, but it was rather a challenge to break and difficult to eat. Under that was mostly fat, but not in a savory melty fat rather a bland sticky kind. There were a few small nuggets of actual pork. It was chewy and decent. For the price and expectations for a nice pork dish, I expected soft, savory, juicy pork that falls off the bones. This the opposite. My girlfriend had the fried chicken which was very salty. The best thing they had was the biscuits and jelly. For a southern themed restaurant, good biscuits should be a given expectation. Service could be improved."

  • "I've tried Kitchen Notes a few times before concerts at Bridgestone and The Ryman. The first couple of times the service was not great, but I kept thinking it would improve, and thankfully, this last time, the service was great. Our server was friendly, attentive and on top of it. The food was good, and the biscuits are always delicious. I'll definitely keep going back. It's definitely a convenient downtown pre-concert dining spot."

The service was good however as it was our first visit, I specifically told our server this and asked him how the brunch was set up and he brushed it off and said the tables were set up all over the restaurant. Well apparently we missed completely a table way in the back, I think that he should have pointed out all the options more clearly. But we will go back as the food was downright southern cuisine at its best. The best sweet bread pudding ever! "

  • "Great space & solid food. Bringing the temps on the buffet line up would be nice, but again it was a buffet & I do not have unrealistic expectations. Service was very attentive but felt very rushed. Attempted to take drink orders before we had even sat down & dropped a check midway through the meal. I really did not appreciate being that rushed for a 50$ PPA. On the plus side, we never lacked for anything the server was so focused on pushing & flipping table he was over us the whole time. "

  • "Food was styled beautifully but horrible upon taste. The temperture in the restaurant was set at "arctic" and coffee was served weak. The much raved about biscuit bar was so bad I thought it was a practical joke. I took some people here from NYC and felt like a right heel when I could have taken us to nashville biscuit house and saved about $300. "

  • "I was so disappointed in this restaurant. The food was terrible. I had the meatloaf. I can tell you it was not freshly made. It was similar to meatloaf that is pre-made and boxed for shipping. We had 6 diners and the restaurant had the audacity to automatically add an 18% gratuity. I kow this is typical for larger parties, but I don't think I have ever seen this for a party this small. I would not return if it were FREE!!! Avoid this place at all costs..."
