"Another great dinner at Katsuya...typical attention to culinary detail. The sushi was fantastic and the people as usual were friendly and helpful. The only ding on this visit was the time it took to see our waiter from when we sat down. They are usually quick to come over but tonight they were a tad slow to the point where the original waiter sent a waitress to our table to get us started. She was great and everything was cool after that. Oh yea...one dish took a little longer than normal to come out--they paid for it! It didn't even cross my mind that they were slow but i think they were sensitive given we waited a few extra minutes when we first arrived--great recovery and this is why Katsuya is one of the best in LA--DETAILS!"

"Took my wife to lunch for her birthday. Food was great--very creative and tasty sushi. However, the service was not professional. We were seated at a table next to a group who were having a loud business discussion. After a few minutes we asked to move to another table in a quieter location. The restaurant , though busy was far from full. The hostess explained that because we had ordered food and the other table would be served by a different server, this was not possible. Our reply was that it was not possible for us to stay--and we got up to leave. Magically, the other table was made available to us. Our servers were great but the 'can't do' attitude of the hostess spoiled what should have been a perfect romantic occasion."

"Within the past three weeks, I have dined at both Katsuya - Hollywood and Katsuya - Brentwood. Both the food and the atmosphere are superb. Kaysuya - Brentwood is a more intimate setting for diners, yet both are fantastic."

"Definately have had better sushi, and just kept wondering why our waiter kept disappearing and the why the service was so slow considering they were not that busy?! Finally it made sense!! Everytime I looked back at the bar our waiter was hitting on this girl at the bar, lastly there is nothing worse than a place that puts a wine in their wine list and then they dont have the wine, poor management I guess, or time to print a new wine list. I wont be going back."

"This is a great place for very tasty food. Their desserts are delectable. It can be quite noisy though and it's always packed, so be sure to make a reservation. It's also a bit pricey, but worth it for a romantic night."
